I really want to like this game, but 5 hours in and I can confidently say this is one of the buggiest, and least intuitive games I've played in a hot minute. Everything from weird enemy ai, settings not saving, things clipping through the world and being lost forever, I feel like this game is playing a giant prank on me. By far though, I think the biggest thing that stopped me from playing was the stealth. The pieces are there, and I want so badly for them to work. A diegetic way to tell if you're revealed in light or not, items you can throw to create noise or distractions, a limited ammo economy encouraging you to get creative. But I found that because the good doctor is so slow, and so noisy no matter the surface you're stepping on, enemies will nearly always find and instantly aggro onto you the second you get close enough for a backstab. Every time I've been discovered, I truly in my heart of hearts feel like I did everything right to get the backstab, and I'll get discovered with an axe in my face before I even realize what's happened. Needless to say if you attempt this in an area with a lot of enemies nearby, being at arms reach with enemies faster than you looking to take a swing at you, stealth is the most punishing thing to attempt in this game if it goes wrong. There are ways around it, the game does give you tools to escape those situations, but when I feel like the systems are just not working as intended, I didn't feel the need to attempt them again. If I had the ammo, I'd pick off who I could from a distance. If I didn't, I'd put that path off until I could. I think if the bugs managed to get ironed out, and the stealth experience is made a bit better, I could see me loving this game. Immersive sims and survival horrors are among my favorite game genre's, but as it stands now though, I can't recommend this one.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.14/day in the week to Jul 26 → 4.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Esteja preparado, pois a pegada é brabíssima.
Ignore all the comparisons, this game is amazing in its own right. Gloomwood has the patina of an old game but it looks and plays way better. The controls are tight and everything has a handcrafted feeling. The lighting works very well with the game mechanics, from sneaking to puzzles it is all brilliantly used. Everything feels dialed-in, controller functions impressively well on this game, never experienced glitches or cheap enemies, every time I was caught or killed felt fair, never had any problems mantling. The brightness calibration lets you calibrate brightness, contrast, and gamma; as a result every object contrasts with every other object giving atmosphere and depth. The world feels organic and lived-in The difficulty curve feels good across the areas, enemies get trickier and often subvert you in unexpected ways. Each difficulty mode feels appropriate and there are nice visual differences as well This game had me staying up too late, thinking about it when Im doing other things, and even dreaming about it. So much fun to speed run!
Well-made game, but has the same issue as most stealth games where you have no idea why someone saw/heard you, and suddenly you're dead. I didn't get very far at all in this games because it was so frustrating right off the bat.
Genuinely one of the best games I have played. There was a few bugs I came across but nothing major and they are to be expected from an early access game. Can't wait for more content to be added. 10/10
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the first level is abysmal, think i gave this game like 4 different attempts and its just so primitive

I recommend this game when it's finished, but I'm not gonna lie as a reviewer, this game is very bare bones as of now and the game has still a long way to go to get to an state where I can confidently say that is worth the buy. It is impressive as an indie immersive sim; it manages great feats as map traversal and an infinity of choices on how you want to progress, but that's where it goes, it is more an excellent proof of concept rather than an actual game. The ugliness of the game cannot be understated, for models and animations are really noticeable in the first minutes on the game, but for most people playing this types of game shouldn't be a problem. There's a big problem with the game at this moment that should be solved with urgency, there's no reason for the player to play smart, no reason to sneak and no reason to hoard resources. Unless you're doing a speedrun, the game does not really give you a reason not to kill everyone you see guns blazing everywhere you go, there's no reward for killing or not killing your enemies so it ends up being just a choice of how difficult you want to make your playthrough so that you can enjoy it. My veredict for this game: Wait for it to get very cheap or until release.
As an early adopter of this game and after playing through many updates with new zones each time i can say it really scratches an itch of a stealth game with inventory management style game. Each zone is unique and has depth with lots of routes and layers built on top of each other. The story is still developing and feels like it does still have a way to go but coming back every few updates has been fun as the gameplay has been refined. Its like a modern day thief game but with some guns and utility tossed in for good measure. I love the utility gun that can put out fire and shoot out light bulbs. Great immersion especially in the sewer sections and just worth your money. I like how they put in the research update that puts a twist to the gameplay loop that allows you to make potions that can turn you into different beasts and enemies of the game. If the developer reads this, my only gripe with the system (from a hoarder perspective cuz i horde a LOT in these games) is that its hard to take a huge torso to bring back to the research station among other body parts because i have to drop all my gear just in order to take body parts. Maybe if there was a separate bag that could carry some parts would help me utilize the system more than i have in my playthroughs. But even if not, it doesn't hinder the experience the game already provides. Keep up the good work and support these hard working devs! Cant wait to play the full product one day!
