Great game, would be nice with english audio, but 8.5/10 i got it on sale
This game is actually so slept on. Once you start unlocking abilities, the combat is super snappy and fun. The overall gameplay loop can be pretty repetitive and grindy, but you won't even notice you're grinding because flying around the city and collecting souls is fun. If you like Japanese mythology and also want to just walk around an empty Tokyo filled with yokai and evil spirits, this is your kind of game
I enjoyed Ghostwire: Tokyo, but to be honest I'm not completely sure why. The combat isn't particularly difficult or rewarding, the traversal is fine but not skillful, the writing is functional but uninteresting. Visually it's quite nice, but that's not really enough for me to normally tolerate a crummy game, yet I played it through and don't feel negatively towards it so there must be something there. My guess is that it's a game you can easily veg out to. I would get home from work, turn off my brain and just clear the fog from the city, maybe fetch some collectibles, read some flavor text about the real life location the game is based on and the traditional Japanese artifacts laying about, do a brief combat challenge and generally get lost in an relaxed haze. This is probably not a ringing endorsement but I'm not really sure what else to say about the game. I did like it, and I'm not regretful of playing it, but I can't really articulate why. It may be because it's got that Yakuza style detailed recreation of a real life place (or simulacrum of a real life place if you want to be postmodern). It may be that it's nice to have a game you don't really need to think about. All that said don't buy it at full price, pick it up during one of its frequent sales or appearances in bundles.
