Gex is a revolutionary platformer that I feel has been forgotten by time. Many of the intricacies you see in Gex have been used and improved on in games following this hidden gem. A true classic in every sense of the word, nothing has ever stuck with me quite like Gex has, its story sucks you in and at the end, you'll be wishing for more but satisfied with the conclusion. This game has changed me for the better and I will one day tell my children about this masterpiece

As some who played these as kid Im so happy to have these on steam. they run perfect evan on my ultra wide 21'9 screen that wasnt expecting that . if youre fan of these games like me grab it. i would get it on sale throw. its not worth the 30 imo i got it for 15 witch is a better price, i do love what they was done here but for the 30 i think the texters could have been redone/upscaled .a little work on the camera shaky ness .and true wide screen support not just stretching it out. it dose have 4x3 and scan lines witch is a nice add. but all and all really nice way to play this classic game. hope they get a full on remake that would be cool i miss games like this

The button mapping for Gex 1 is awful and you CANNOT change it. The original game (3DO) you could change the control scheme. Not sure about the PS1 port but come on... I have zero interest in Gex 2 or 3 and if I cannot play Gex with a better control setup then this is useless to me. And yes, I am aware that you can change keyboard buttons. Who is playing this on a keyboard??????

Way, WAY too expensive for what it is - A 30 year old game. Also it wasn't as fun as when I was a child.

ho trovato questo porting della trilogia di Gex divertente e piacevole da giocare, il gameplay in se resta invariato dalla trilogia originale con il carisma di gex ed i vari level design che parodizzano molti fenomeni della cultura pop dell’epoca, ho apprezzato l’aggiunta dei vari ''quality of life improvements'' come le funzioni di save anyware e rewind che ti faranno risparmiare tantissimo tempo, rendono l’esperienza più piacevole e meno frustante per i giocatori meno avvezzi, specialmente la funzione di rewind che nel terzo capitolo mi ha aiutato tantissimo, e chi ha giocato la trilogia originale saprà benissimo quanto il terzo capitolo sia molto più punitivo e frustrante, inoltre ho apprezzato anche il modo in cui i comandi sono stati rivisti, li ho trovati meno legnosi e più piacevoli di quelli originali, una cosa che avrei apprezzato fosse stata rivista è la gestione della telecamera nel secondo e specialmente nel terzo capitolo, che in certi punti risulta davvero tediosa con angolazioni pessime anche in modalità manuale, ma essendo un porting non credo si potesse fare di meglio, inoltre trovo che il sistema di salvataggio sia stato implementato un po' male in certi punti, e che il supporto ai 16:9 non è proprio dei migliori, certo nulla di aberrante ma poteva essere implementato meglio voto finale 8/10 +1 per i vari Q.O.L improvements il prezzo lo trovo giusto personalmente e come ho già scritto in altre recensioni di prodotti simili, non usate la scusa del ''eehhh ma tanto lo emulo'' perché i giochi originali hanno dei prezzi proibitivi e siamo tutti bravi a piratarlo no? eh si... allora che li compriamo a fa i giochi eh?

[h1]GEX IS BACK!!! ...but:[/h1] To get this out of the way first, the Gex games (specifically 2 and 3) where major games of my childhood, and ever since i always wanted him to return in some way or form as i thought the potential for the character and series was huge and kinda underused. With the trend of bringing back old IP's in remake or remaster form, and the resurgens of Gex as a character in popcultur (Thanks Scott the woz), it feelt like it was only a matter of [strike]Tail[/strike] time for him to return. [b]AND HE DID![/b] When the collection was announced i was more then ready to replay these old classics from my childhood (and i guess also Gex 1 idk). And if we just go by that, then yeah, I really enjoyed it! [b]But...[/b] This collection by itself is... not great... While some games get remasters or full on remakes, Gex just gets PC ports with "okay" emulation. the extra content is fine, but doesn't really have mutch to offer aside from the Dana Gould interview which might be the highlight of the collection even. But still, No N64 versions with exclusive levels (Which are in as bonus videos, but come on), No GBC ports, No other languages for Gex 3 (Which suck for me specifically since i'm german and grew up with some of his german quotes by Nicolas König.) Also for some reasson the game chugs really, REALLY hard on the menu, which i have no idea how they screwed that up. Appearently this kind of treatment seams standard for Limited Run Games re-releases from what i was tould, and its sad Gex had to fall to that. [b]THAT SAID:[/b] The reasson why i bought this collection regatless and why despite everything i'm still giving it a positive rating is because Gex deserves a comback (a real comeback), and i want that Square Enix knows thats what his fans want too. So if me buying the game and giving it a good review raises the chance for an actual Gex 4, so be it. [h2]Should you get this collection yourself?[/h2] Maybe? If you want to also support Gex and want to gamble for a new game, sure, though better get it on sale. Otherwise if you just want to play the games, well, there are other ways.
