Honestly I would consider the creator of this game.......a genius, and a lover of games. As I played through Geo Mythica, I caught most references, most mentions of love for a game that brought joy to me as a child. Illusion of Gaia, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, and even Final Fantasy 12, which this game reminds me the most of. If you are a fan of action games that demand a knowledge of turn-based strategy, I implore you to play this game. There are so many beautiful touches. The world map models our own, of Earth. Sure it's silly to walk to seconds from California to New Orleans, but what does it matter? The joy of games is that it shows us the fantasy of saving our world, these days full of so much turmoil. So many little touches born from a lover of games. Learn languages so you can speak to NPCS in foreign destinations. Explore towns around the world, and even learn small lore snippets about cultures around our world. Its so beautifully retro, but I'm a believer that art takes many forms, and this is one of them. He included a developer commentary for EVERY SINGLE ROOM that shows how he felt about every decision he made in this game. This is a labor of love and you will not go wrong experiencing this game for such an affordable price. What else can I say? Nobody else in the NES era could come up with this kind of game, and man would it have been so successful if it was made back then. This being my first review on STEAM, I apologize if it doesnt get my point across, but man......if you love RPGS, you should play this. The quality of life options take completely away most frustrations of RPGS. Freely swap your spells between party members like materia in FF7. Command your party members in the heat of the action at any time, placing their abilities on hotkeys that you can choose. Freely swap talent points and party members as you please. Even thought the game gets hard at times, I was never frustrated as I could determine the correct strategy in a failed battle and then switch my tactics to win on round 2. Honestly, I love indie games.... labors of love you cannot find anywhere else. If you are any kind of lover of RPGS or RETRO, I heavily reccomend Geo Mythica.

My final game of 2025, and a great way to end the year. Geo Mythica is a nerdy, geography loving throwback to the Saturday morning cartoons of yesteryear. The story follows Gio, an always-positive high school football player, as he gets mixed up in a global conspiracy with the megacorporation Sur Nova, and these strange glowing shards that seem to give people power... at a cost. Along the way, he meets a variety of people and other companions from around the world to help overcome this threat to humanity. Everything about the characters, stories, and reconstruction of the Earth is just so earnest. It's not some super deep narrative that'll blow your mind with its philosophy, but it's a darn good time that'll make you smile. The little edutainment touches here and there are delightful. You have to learn the appropriate languages in the appropriate cities, and you'll need to convert your money to the right currency type. These aren't that big of barriers, but they're opportunities to learn just a little bit more about the location. There's various geography quizzes, and one section even teaches you a bit of basic boolean logic. It's never a major focus or hindrance, though. I'd say it's mostly a window dressing that furthers the Saturday morning cartoon vibes, though you may pick a thing or two up. Combat plays out as a throwback action JRPG. I think Seiken Densetsu 3 is the most comparable game I can think of. You could also look at it as a NES version of the FF7 remake games. You move and attack like a top down brawler, but you have the ability to issue commands for yourself and party members via a menu system that pauses the game. It works out quite well. There's a good amount to think about too: you have aggro to manage, charged up attacks to interrupt, and weaknesses to target. I had a lot of fun with the combat, and I think it hit a good level of depth for the 10-15 hour runtime. I think that covers everything I really wanted to say about the game. It's criminally overlooked for how cool and unique of a game it is. I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot if you're at all interested!
A great little rpg that manages to pull together a decent story with some really interesting gameplay, highly recommend if you're looking for underrated indie games to play
worth playing and even attempting to 100%. i enjoyed it a lot!
Muy buen juego.
cool globetrotting action-ish jrpg, kinda plays like ff7r? edutainment in disguise but that's good actually. really solid overall, my only beef with it is that it gets kinda mashy towards the end once you figure out how to effectively rip the game apart
excellent game in the vein of an old school action JRPG
pretty guuuud
classic game takes place in the 90s. Chrono trigger like gameplay as well. thumbs up!
