Geo Mythica

I beta tested Geo Mythica before it launched, and frankly had a blast. (I did buy my own copy.) It was like an 8-bit Final Fantasy 7 Remake combat system meets the shenanigans of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? meets a little bit of Chrono Trigger. Story and characters were fun even if nothing revolutionary comes out of the tale. (All of the main cast of heroes and villains have personality and well-paced development.) It could be tricky sometimes with certain battles, so rethinking my strategy was important and puts a proper "RPG" in the Action RPG sense. The music was a lot of fun and one of our friends composed a few tracks, I believe. Graphics could get reused a tad too much, but that's kind of the spirit of an NES game, no? Only other nitpick would be the final boss felt like the plot revolving around them was forgotten for too long haha. All in all, Geo Mythica is a good time and should be played by anyone that enjoys pixel art Action RPGs. :)

[h3] Uma surpreendente aventura mágica no mundo real[/h3] Geo Mythica é um jogo que me pegou na demo, o sistema de batalha me lembra clássicos da serie Mana, mas não deixa de ser diferente. Misturar tempo real com sistema de turnos não deixa o sistema menos complexos ([spoiler]os desafios finais estão aí para provar[/spoiler]). Apesar de curta, a história é divertida e o Gio é um protagonista diferente, que cresce ao longo da sua jornada e aprende um pouquinho a ser mais pé no chão. Confesso que inicialmente, o sistema de moedas e línguas é interessante, mas em alguns momentos pode ser meio entediante de lidar. Outro ponto negativo é que o final é um pouco cansativo, mas nada que atrapalhe a sessão. As músicas são incríveis, e honestamente, lutar contra o Abaporu foi o ponto alto da aventura.

cool globetrotting action-ish jrpg, kinda plays like ff7r? edutainment in disguise but that's good actually. really solid overall, my only beef with it is that it gets kinda mashy towards the end once you figure out how to effectively rip the game apart

A great little rpg that manages to pull together a decent story with some really interesting gameplay, highly recommend if you're looking for underrated indie games to play

[ 지오 미식가 리뷰 ] 한글 패치가 없어서 실시간 번역기를 써서 플레이 했음. 게임의 테마가 세계 지리, 문화 교육인 특이한 컨셉이다. 주인공은 무려 미식축구와 검도를 하는 흑인학생으로 게임이 시작된다. 미국의 실제 도시를 배경으로 시작하는게 심상치 않았다. 그리고 펼쳐지는 전개에서 점점 확장되는 세계에 감탄했다. 어설프게 표현된 블럭픽셀로 표현된 세계는 세계지도를 엇비슷하게 표현하고 건물 대 여섯개로 간략화 한 도시들은 각 도시의 분위기를 어느 정도 표현한다. 그 속에 음식이라는 아이템을 도시마다 다른 이름으로 차별점을 주고 건축물도 다르게 그렸다. 심지어 미국을 건너 일본까지 나왔을 때 당황스럽기 까지 했다. 그렇다 아예 지구를 통째로 날아다니게 되어있던 것 이다. 이렇게 세계 지리와 문화 컨셉으로 끝나는게 아니다. 게임 내부에서 나오는 퀴즈들 마저도 같은 결의 교육적인 요소가 있다. 여러 나라의 언어를 배울때 인삿말을 간략하게 맞춰본다거나 다양한 나라의 화폐를 은행에서 환전해가면서 써야하거나 문화퀴즈를 내는 NPC까지 있다니 게임의 분위기를 한층 더 귀엽게 만든다. 뭐랄까 교육용 게임같은 느낌이 물씬 나면서 어릴적 기분이 느껴진다. 게임 플레이는 상당히 독특한데 실시간 액션도중 멈춰서 스킬을 명령하는 식으로 일시정지가 가능한 액션이다. 초반에서 중반까지는 진행이 상당히 빠르지만 최종장에 다가가기 시작하면 엄청난 난이도가 기겁하게된다. 전투 시작하자 전멸하는 공격을 난사하거나 대다수의 공격이나 속성에 면역인 적이 쏟아진다. 거기에 플레이어의 레벨이 높아져 체력이 1천이 넘어가는 시점에 마을에서 파는 음식이 고작해야 80에서 100정도 채워주는 음식뿐이라 식비로 벌어둔 돈이 싹 사라질 지경이다. 등장인물들 하나하나 특이하고 매력적인데 실제 존재하는 지역과 도시와 음식들이 등장하는 현대배경이지만 무려 말을 하는 동물이 등장하고 심지어 동료가 되기도 한다. 아예 마을 통째로 동물들만 있는 마을도 있다. 세계라는 테마를 잘 살린 재밌는 모험과 이야기가 있는 게임 지오 미시카 강력하게 추천합니다.
