About

I will awaken the magic within you, and you will free us from the Rêve…
Set in a wondrously evocative re-imagining of France, a beautifully crafted otome visual novel following Emma, orphaned at a young age, as she fights to uncover her forgotten memories. A witch who lost her powers when young and now living a quiet life, Emma is led by the memento her father left her and finds herself swept away with the arrival of a travelling amusement park in town.
Filled with magic and dreams but holding a dark secret, Emma feels an immediate connection to the wondrous La Foire du Rêve. She discovers that hidden underneath the lustrous fairy-like charm of the park, its employees are trapped, bound to the amusement park and only the magic within Emma can free them. But it has been years since Emma has been able to access her magic, and she must dig deep within herself, navigating painful repressed memories, in order to recover it.
Working at the Rêve as she unravels the tangled threads of her forgotten past, Emma forges bonds with the employees of the amusement park. A cast of wonderful characters; the dazzling director Hugo, the stoic accountant Serge, the Tsundere Performer Crier, the kind-hearted rabbit Lyon, the Reclusive Mechanic Luciole, and Emma’s special childhood friend, Arnaud. Each character with their own crosses to bear, stories of tragedy and longing woven together with desperation, Emma builds deepening bonds of friendship, and maybe more, as she works to unlock her magic and their freedom.
With its gorgeously subdued artwork, radiating warmth and romance, Genso Manège is a dream-like otome fantasy with an outstanding visual power that conjures an unforgettably bittersweet tale.
Breathtaking Romance: 6 different male leads to sweep you off your feet, follow their character routes and uncover their secrets.
A Thriving Town: near the French border, this culturally rich location sets the scene for an unforgettably magical tale.
Dazzling Pastel World: expertly crafted characters and artwork paint a dreamy picture of romance and magic, making this a visual novel in every sense.
Magical Mini Games: utilise the Éveil System, an enjoyable game mechanic, woven into the story to help you recover Emma’s magical abilities.
Voiced Characters: unique characters brought to life by stunning voice acting allow you to experience first-hand the different personalities trapped in the Rêve.
An Unforgettable Tale: sweet and touching yet tinged with sadness, Genso Manège weaves a tale which is as happy as it is bittersweet.

MC is seventeen and most of the cast are in their twenties. Also one of the LLs is her pseudo-adoptive brother. I found this out in less than ten minutes and am NOT enthused about what other deal-breakers I'm going to find. I do not understand why MCs can't be over nineteen if it's free from the high school setting. Developers, I promise you, people in their 20s are still young and naive enough for the innocent girl MC shtick. Still, I'm not going to refund this because I am interested in the story and where it's going to go. I'm not saying this game is irredeemable garbage (the art, story so far, effects and voice acting are enjoyable), just that you should know what you're getting into before playing. And this game is a good reminder to play demos first, no matter how much you think you'll enjoy the game anyway. I never claimed to be smart! EDIT: I finished the game! All the achievements! So I can now be one hundred percent certain in my decision to NOT recommend this game. first things first: ngl i did enjoy myself mostly, but that doesn't change my stance. just thought i'd be honest. Now for why I don't like this game and still wouldn't recommend it: 17 year old MC is still weird! No it would not be okay if she was 18 either, but it definitely is a choice to not only go young, but beneath 18. It would be one thing if I could ignore it but THE GAME KEEPS MENTIONING IT. LITERALLY. And 3/6 LL's ARE in her age range which makes the 3 that aren't weirder. Like, these are deliberate choices that I can not wrap my head around. Do not come @ me w age of consent, law does not equal morality. As I said before, I would still have a problem if MC was 18 because that's still a kid to me. is it so wrong to want my otome MC and LL's to all be mid-20s at the very LEAST. I would not have this problem if she AND all the LL's were all teenagers. And I'm also not saying ALL age gaps are bad. Just, in these specific circumstances, it IS bad. Why do these grown men want a 17 y/o. When I say I want age gaps I mean I want them between consenting adults. Yes, these characters are fictional, but my discomfort is very real! And the normalization of this leads to teens being more susceptible to grooming. I am also aware that this happens in many games, and I think those should be criticized to. Just because a bad thing happens a lot doesn't make it less bad.
I wish I could say that the game is beautiful and interesting and I liked it very much, but unfortunately I cannot do it. I just don`t know if it`s interesting or not, because this game is unplayable for me (as for many other players who have bought it). For some of us the game have a grave issue: you cannot play beyond the breakfast scene at the very beginning of the game. All you can do at that point is just use escape button and leave the game. The developers keep silence more than a month and that`s it. I have tried to play in 2 different PC but the result is the same. Please try the demo and if you have this bug don`t buy it, because in this case this bug will be in the full version as well. Very disappointing and upsetting.
So far, I love it! Whimsy, mystery, fantasy, and incredibly beautiful art. (I mean, I swooned over the art! I am a fan.) Congratulations on producing such a fun game to play. I love the story line, the characters- everything. This game to me is like devouring a puffy cotton candy decorated to perfection. Deliciously cute and just even with the deeper topics felt light and airy to the palette. I am impressed with every part of this game. I would 100% recommend playing it. It was worth the money in my opinion.
Downloaded the game, played the prologue, knew who I wanted to pursue first. (Luciole) Got his "Rêve" ending. Absolutely loved it. 100000000/10 Already worth the money, can't wait to play the other routes!
I can't play this game due to an issue at the very beginning which prevents me to continue after the breakfast scene. We are several people to have this issue. Please fix it.
First of all, shoutout to the cast because I actually liked everybody, which is rare for me. Hugo’s mysterious and knows too much, Serge is serious but secretly funny, Crier is a blushy tsundere baby, Clara is the best hype-woman, and Arnaud… foster brother ready to ruin lives for Emma. But my heart? Luciole and Lyon. Luciole’s the quiet mechanic bae who vibes perfectly with Emma’s soft energy, and Lyon… yeah, the bunny mascot, he’s so sweet I was literally emotional over a man in a rabbit suit. Emma’s actually a good MC! She’s timid but grows, pushes herself, and isn’t a blank slate. The romances feel real, and the story?? Pastel and cute on the outside, but dark and heartbreaking enough to have me ugly-crying in my hoodie. But some routes have age gaps that made me side-eye hard, and Emma makes some decisions where I was screaming “GIRL, WHY???” Also… that little star-collecting mini-game? Useless. Perfect score, bad score, doesn’t matter. I started skipping it. Overall?? Loved it. Beautiful writing, likable cast, emotional twists—just get ready to cry, laugh, and maybe throw hands at the screen once or twice. 10/10 would sob over a rabbit mascot again. #CryingInPastel #LucioleILoveYou #MascotRouteButItAte
I was recommended this game by a friend who played it when it was only available on Japanese, saying the story was interesting and included dramatic storylines. I was hooked when I found out it was on Steam! However, I ended up disappointed. My experience so far has been that the game is, unplayable. Not only for me but for a lot of players. It's really buggy! •́ ‿ ,•̀ For some players, the game gets freezed on the start of the prologue and you can't do anything, just stuck on limbo. For me, CGs don't show up and even the sprites ingame don't work. I was able to read the prologue (although it was buggy) and was intrigued, but when I started Serge's route, believing it couldn't get worse, sprites and CGs stop working. It's not my first time buying otome games on Steam, but this has changed my perspective on buying games near their release date, and not in a handheld console format. I believe my opinion of this game will change if they fix the bugs, and I'm willing to give it a second chance. But in its current state, I wouldn't recommend it. ┐( ˘_˘)┌
I fell in love with this game during Next Fest and immediately bought it upon release. This is such a colorful fun and beautiful story ♥ Also it works great on the steamdeck
This review used to be a thumbs-down but I've made it positive now! I won't go into much detail because I have not finished the game yet, but there was this terrible bug that made the game actually unplayable (many players were experiencing it). But after quite a wait, they finally seemed to have fixed it so now reading seems possible! So far, I'm loving the story, characters and voice acting. I'll make a better review once I've played more of it. P.S. I would recommend trying the demo before purchasing this game, if you experience any issues in the demo that make it impossible to play, then you will have the same issues in the actual game! Thank you for listening to us and fixing the game!!
