I know the "Jester" guardian is meant to be joke, but opening a web browser to a random link unprompted seems risky. All other aspects seem good, but opening links unwarranted just sours the game.
I was impressed by this game from the beginning but then... I witnessed Jester guardian 🤡 I mean, the game can get visually intense and drop absolute bangers during normal play, sure. But Jester is something else - a descent to madness through total sensoric overload with extreme attention to detail. Possibly the very peak of both art and insanity. May Alpherior live long and prosper so he can share more of his genius (and insanity) with us!
Exellent sequal - more of everything, well balanced & very entertaining!
It's Genome Guardian with even more stuff. If you played the first Genome Guardian, you already know that's a really good thing. If you haven't: this game is a roguelite wave survival game with a weapon fusion & upgrade system that gives you a million bajillion different options for powering up your weapons during a run, on top of a million bajillion different options for your character/perks/etc on a run-to-run basis. These options are substantial, some to the point of creating an entirely unique playstyle. If you like experimenting with different bonuses, mixing and matching stuff to see what happens and how strong you can get, you'll probably like this game. Also, the dev (solo dev, I think? forgive me if I'm wrong) presents information in-game in a way that's very candid and, at times, witty, which I really appreciate - I like when games kinda pull down the veil between the developer and player and talk to the player directly, makes it feel more... "human", I guess? Anyways, in summary, this is an excellent sequel to a game that was already excellent.
Even better than the first one!
A serious evolution of the first game. Core mechanic is the same, just a boatload more content, game modes and genuine experimentation and build choices.
Just not very interactive
This game is genuinely insane with the amount of playtime, play styles, and customizations it offers you. Upgrades and achievements galore. Lore, chaos, and comedy on the side, and awesome songs from a variety of artists. Definitely worth the price. The demo was enough to get me hooked, and checking in on how the game has been dedicatedly expanded since then has only continued to blow me away. Only thing I regret is not putting in a good review sooner.
The Best Bullet Heaven game I ever played. Mostly because of insane amount of tactics involving many different combinations of parts you can combine to get unique interactions and great satisfaction when it just works out really well.
