Blowing up scary robots
EDIT: At 80 hours. Have just gotten two expansion DLCs. Pretty much no change to the original post below. A couple of things noted. Coop works well for the most part-if co-oping. If trouble inviting, we found we had to all go through Steam start to get it to work. Wishing there were not quite so many boarded up houses (but still plenty of houses to explore). The base building is you either can take it or leave it. Its kind of cool building a small functional walled base (no roofs or actual buildings can be used sadly). So if base building is your thing, you might some disappointment in the limited here. But other than that pretty much below stays part fo course. Map is huge-Im at 80 hours and maybe Ive discovered only close to half of main map-never mind the dlc extra islands. Early game-only 7 hours in. I take things a bit slow so Im not off the "Tutorial Island" yet-but I dont have a lot of experience with this genre, so those with more experience it may vary. After playing a game like 7 Days to Die where anything can be picked up, its an adjustment to just certain items, but thats fine. Unlike 7 days everything is shooting you (all robots, only humans Ive encountered-well one-is a questgiver NPC), so going in guns a blazing-I was learning how to tactic and cover real quick lol. There is a story you can follow, which I am for the tutorial area, but straight off, you can go in whatever direction you want and explore, which I like. Again, its early game for me in this regard and not a big player of the genre, so I cant make comparisons on how the challenge is to say a Vein or DayZ. Gun play feels pretty good, lots of environmental stuff to damage enemies, also things like distractions (radios for example) are cool. The audio is great, the chirps of birds, the wind, the attention getting sound of a robot you can see but not hear yet I found suspenseful in a fun way. Im sure other games in the genre have similar so its more a new thing for me. As I go on I'll edit it, but got it for 5 bucks on Steam, its a single player with online coop (so pve coop) and coop experience is enjoyable. Its fun having one member spotting while other is out making movies and following directions of spotter. Overall, for five bucks on sale recommended-its regularly 23.00 which still isnt bad at all. 8/10 so far.
Найс Игра
Good, but not great. Fun, but not memorable. The initial feeling of the unknown is thrilling, but it fades rather quickly. The gunplay is very fun, but most enemies are balanced by being bullet sponges. The map is beautiful but feels rather empty past the starting island. The story is just there . . . Co-op works fine apart from some animation desync.
Fun w friends
Must. Protect. Sacred soil.
