Gelluloid Domination is a fast-paced, strategic and tactical game where you grow a network of cells. Expand by assimilating nearby cells, fight off pathogens and develop nanoboosts in the lab. Other cells want to propagate their DNA too, so this won't be easy. Can your cells achieve domination?

About
A fast-paced strategy game of fantasy biology. Start with a single fragile cell and expand across the network, assimilating rivals to grow your gel-powered army. Evolve mutations, unlock new abilities, and fight off deadly pathogens. Adapt and conquer, expand or be consumed. Every decision shapes the network — will you achieve total domination?
This is a minimalist strategy game. You start with simple mechanics: transfer gel to assimilate cells and manage gel production, but when and where you act changes everything. Watch your opponents, time your moves, and adapt to their strategies. With a variety of cell types, network layouts, and upgrades, every match plays out differently. Experiment, strategize, and stay one step ahead.
All missions have been designed with pen and paper to offer a diverse set of challenges, requiring you to adapt and learn new strategies. Beyond classic domination, you’ll face:
Survival Mode – Hold out against viral swarms.
Reservoir Fill – Gather enough gel in a "tank" cell.
Race Mode – Get to the target before your opponents.
More unique objectives to challenge your tactical thinking.
Find DNA strands to mutate, evolve, and enhance your cells:
Mutations: Transform your gel into deadly medusa, spike, or explosive forms. Mutate defensive turrets to shoot down incoming viruses.
Evolutions: Passive boosts to production, speed, and efficiency.
Nano-Boosts: Strategic “abilities” that shift the tide – slow opponents, disrupt production, or attract viruses to enemy cells.
Some cells offer key advantages, while others can leave you exposed—expand wisely to secure the best cells before your opponents do. Beyond the basic cell, you'll encounter a variety of specialized types:
Attack, Defense, and Production cells – Boost transfer speed, reinforce defenses, or increase gel production.
Carrier cells – Move freely, transporting gel to disconnected areas for flanking attacks.
Link cells – Create new connections in the network.
Vortex cells – Teleport gel instantly across the network.
Cycle roads and other mechanics add even more strategic depth.
AI-controlled opponents fight to dominate the network just like you, with no unfair advantages – just pure strategy. Crank up the difficulty for a heart-pounding challenge.
Are challenges too hard? You can lower the simulation temperature to have an easier time, but the rewards will not be as good.
Experience-enhancing functionality is available for power users, such as Continuous Send, Chain Linking and the Passive/Aggressive toggle. Cell information panels provide insight into the raw numbers driving the simulation.

Below is the standard issue onboarding letter.
Welcome, doctor, to the Gelluloid Labs micro-life research program. We are Orbicorp, leaders in bio-tech and DNA disease analysis.
We study alien life forms to enhance our medical expertise with fascinating knowledge of new cellular behaviors.
Our vow is to not only heal the sick -- but go beyond that and super-charge biological functions in all humans, ensuring our race continues to dominate the known galaxies.

By injecting a special type of Gel under strict laboratory conditions, we are able to study how these extraordinary alien tissues work to endure the extreme, life-threatening conditions of the far away solar systems.
Our newest research produced the Green Gel, a new type of gel that can be controlled by hardware buttons and that can be seen through the microscope.
As a scientist, you are trained to complete these experiments. Your reward will be in the form of Research Points which you can spend developing new technologies in the Lab.
Thank you for reading this job description. Should you choose to apply for the position, your findings in Gelluloid Labs will lead to great advancements in human medicine and biological enhancements - sometime in the years to come.
A beautiful and serene Lab is made at your disposal by Orbicorp for free: *

* For the duration of your experiments. Orbicorp may terminate your contract without prior notice, and have a new scientist move in. The Lab is expensive to run and we can't waste any time or money. Or both!
We sincerely admire your devotion. We can't wait to see your research, which will lead to human domination in the known galaxies.
The CEO of Orbicorp himself,
TAMN GHONTJEN JR.

Definitely a unique concept for an RTS, both gameplay wise and visually. The fast action gets you on the edge of the seat while each level throws at you different threats and puzzles to deal with. Its fun and challenging
This is honestly so cool, and the visuals genuinely immerse you into this microscopic realm. It's been on my wishlist for a long time and boy does it not dissappoint.
Honestly? Too many levels where there's only one solution, and finally hit a wall at 03-06, even on the lowest settings primarily due to the gimmick. The gimmick appears to be using the virii to weaken other sectors, then invade, as the means to invade isn't able to overcome the inherent regeneration of the defenses alone, even if that's all you spend gel/time on. The virii are a joke (both to you and the AI) so this leaves you stuck, unable to invade quickly enough to progress. The ability that supposedly attracts them doesn't appear to make much (if any) difference. They also completely stop spawning after a certain point, generally without having hampered ... anyone. Even the other abilities appear broken. As in, as far as I can tell, they do nothing. I'm not even sure the "upgrades" work, as they don't appear to modify the stats from base at all when chosen. Also resets what you have available with each session, though apparently still remembers that you upgraded them. Additional ability slots say the tech tree unlocks them without there being anything there that does so. If it's locked behind progress, I never got far enough to see it, despite completing the first two sets. The UI, such as it is, doesn't work half the time when it requires precise movements and targeting. For instance, if you're trying to load for an invasion, and it's too close to a normal cell, it'll prioritize targeting that normal cell unless you're exactly on top of what you're trying to load. If you try to move the camera with anything but the mouse, it locks the mouse until you click again as well. There is a lot here that feels janky anywhere except directing gel between linked cells. Overall, the rest of the levels so far were either a blitz or a complete slog, where some of them you have to find the ideal strategy or you just lose. The "base" outside the simulation doesn't appear to do anything at all, despite what the trailer shows. It was interesting for a bit, and the visuals and concept are cool, but I regret buying it and wouldn't recommend it as is, especially as a fully released title.
This really took me back to the phage wars era, it's a bit of that with a TON of upgrades and strats you can plan for. If you into minimalist RTS, node-conquest, or infection-spread puzzles, this hits the spot. A bit annoying you have to use tech funds from research to also use that stuff (you might find yourself overinvesting in tech you woops can't use after purchase) and that you don't always see the enemy's strength (unless you buy an upgrade later and only lasts 30s) but maybe it's just my need to have full info on all the stuff going on :)
Upgrades are functionally useless because you have to pay your research currency to use them after paying the research currency to unlock them. Continuous send is made useless by wandering viruses in the background that ignore the node map. An unfortunately weak entry into the genre.
