Geeksos is a fascinating indie game that puts you into the shoes of a game developer who was recently retrenched. However, on your way out, in comes the men with guns and they took you away to some secret lab where you (mainly your brain) were experimented on. Thankfully, due to a blunder on the lab tech's part, your anesthetic wore off and you managed to escape the place with a little "souvenir" that was injected behind your ear.
[spoiler]A quick visit to the augmentation clinic revealed that your brain had been injected with some sort of chemical which will slowly degrade your mind. The only way to reverse it is to find the actual chemical used and synthesize a cure from it.[/spoiler] As you may expect, the game puts you on the path to find out why you were kidnapped in the first place and why did they put something in your brain.
If you're not planning on doing a no-kill run, Geeksos isn't exactly a stealth game where discovery usually leads to certain death. Sneaking around will probably help you save some medkits, but if you're willing to splurge - after all, you can always buy more from the guns store and they aren't exactly expensive, you can go in guns blazing and grenades exploding.
Personally though, I like sneaking up behind people and use my augmented arm to whack them unconscious. If you like the idea as well, then you'll want to buy the arm augment as soon as you can!
The only sneaking around that you really need to do is around turrets. These machines pack a punch and unless you had some speed-increasing augments installed, you might not be able to outrun their bullets as you dash towards the doorway at the end.
Like Deus Ex, the game also allows you to use energy to hack certain terminals, turrets and cameras. However, this is something extra that might be more help if you're planning to play the entire game without spilling a drop of blood. Note that hacked turrets will open fire on the enemies so if you really want to sleuth your way through, then avoid hacking turrets and sneak past them instead.
However, I like to prefer to make sure the enemies are dead myself - no surprises you see - so I didn't use hacking as much in my playthrough.
Sounds in this game will trigger the AI guards to start actively looking for an intruder - you! - so it's always best to use your normal walking speed rather than sprinting since the latter produces a ton of sound. There's actually an augment that you can buy to remove any sound produced while sprinting but til then, just walk normally. There's really little need for sprinting, except when you need to dash past a turret.
In some cases, you can actually fire off a shot just to lure a guard out from a room or misdirect a patrolling guard to the other side of the room.

Generally, I'd say the game isn't very difficult, nor is it entirely realistic. I'm sure many players would complain that why is it that a guard can be killed (using an augmented fist) right beside another guard and that other guard didn't even flinched. It's not logical, I know, but somehow it worked.
Not to mention, I particularly enjoy reading what the random NPCs in the street (look for those that are standing still rather than those walking around) has to say as well. Plenty of gaming-related jokes there that I - and maybe you too - am able to relate. P/S: Also, keep an eye out for Easter Eggs... there are plenty of them in this game :)
Ultimately, there's a final confrontation with the mastermind behind the stuff you've uncovered through your missions and behind your kidnapping, and you'll get to decide what to do. Note that your choices will definitely change the ending you get, and from what I can see, I think there should be around three of them.

Geeksos isn't exactly a very long game. You can probably complete everything within around 2 hours if you don't waste any time dying needlessly like I did :P Plus, the game isn't very expensive either, which explains the shorter game, and can be pretty fun if you don't really expect an in-depth stealth game like Styx or Shadow Tactics.
In addition to a nice variety of upgrades (weapons and body augmentations), you'll also get to decide which method you'd like to use to complete the game, whether it is bloody, stealthy or a mixture of both; and there are several endings for you to uncover (by responding differently to the mastermind's questions). The game-related humor in this game is definitely a huge plus for me as well.
For its price, I would definitely recommend buying the game if you do enjoy playing this type of games. If you're not sure, check out a couple of gameplay vids, like mine for instance :), before deciding.
