Game is dead and devs don't care!
Started the game, keybind does not work (I play by the arrows) There is option to change, but it is broken, (RELEASE DATE: 20 Nov, 2019) and you still could not fix that ? Game bad with optimization ? Happens when it is made with free assets ( as soon started the game I saw a very know wolf that you can find in other (so so early access games with free assets) like (road to eden) for example another game full of free assets, nowadays it is easy to make a game just putting together those free assets, do not waste your time, this is another so so developer that uses free package assets games to make his a easy grab money game, no future in here * avoid it* !
sad it got abandoned
I thought for a long time about what my review would be in the end, and decided that negative points, in particular optimization, which simply does not exist here (the game eats resources, as if not into itself, in the recommended ficus 8320 and 8 GB of RAM and with this px590, why, why, where, there are no answers to these questions, only an incomprehensible consumption of video card resources, although there are no very heavy textures here) cover all the positive aspects, namely an interesting idea and a pretty good game mechanics itself, they will correct the optimization, there will be good 8/10, so far only 3/10 and at this stage I strongly do not recommend this product
Another broken abandoned game .. DO NOT BUY
Been keeping an eye out for any updates, back when the game dropped it seemed a good concept and the game had some nice features. now 2023 and no update or a single word from the devs, it would be safe to assume the games dead. These instances are becoming far to common place on steam.
I've tried this game a few times since I originally received a key, and every time I only end up getting to play for 20-30 minutes before something happens which causes me to get stuck floating in the air, unable to progress further. I've waited quite some time since my last time playing to see if I could get further, and unfortunately I've not been able to. GearStorm feels like it has a decent amount of stuff going for it, or decent ideas that the developers have, but I've just not particularly been able to experience any of them as every time I've tried I get to a certain point and then get stuck floating in the air with no way to progress. Once more, I've not been able to get far enough to really see, but from the vehicles that I've gotten to test in the opening sequence it seems decent enough. There are some decent animated sequences involving spawning for the first time, as well as getting into the drop pod, but the majority of the game has an overwhelming feeling of jank which seems to permeate everything. Whilst I understand this game is being done by a small company, it originally launched in November of 2019, and since then hasn't really escaped feeling like an FPS Creator game. There are consistent issues with keybinds, as well as the game not showing you every keybind and referring to some of them as keyboard inputs, and some as gamepad inputs. Overall, I wouldn't suggest this game. Maybe in a few years time it'll be worth coming back to, but for now it's just not anything particularly impressive. I'd love to have played more, and love to have experienced more, but the getting stuck in the air issue seems persistent.
This game is perfectly optimized compared to other similar projects on the unreal engine 4.
