重生了还要我谈恋爱 (something like: Reborn: Still want to date) For those that don't have Mandarin as a first language, this game might be difficult, but hopefully they release subtitles. Even without subs, it's not too hard to "brute force" your way through the game. All it requires is selecting literally every option (or getting lucky on the first choice) in order to get enough "favorablilty" with all the girls. Unlike other popular Chinese FMV games like LIAA, this game don't force you to prioritize any one girl's relationship points over another. The goal seems to be to unlock all 5 girls completely and then complete the ending with the "demon" girl.
Throughout the game there are various choices to level up your bravery, intelligence, and many many ways to die. Hint: if you're stuck try to pay attention to your plot paths: Red circle is good route, red heart is best route, and Black heart is death/losing route. Also, here you don't necessarily have to choose one path at a time, you just have to uncover all the options, and you keep the points. There doesn't seem to be a way to lose the points of any category. One confusing thing is how certain choices teleport you to different chapters. But to keep it simple, you normally end all chapters in the "demon" girl's shop, and all endings eventually lead back there as well, until your reach the final final ending. Hitting ESC helps to see where you are, but make sure you finished watching the scene so when you find your place you can just hit Q to skip, or the arrow keys to speed up.
Another major game mechanic is the "Quick time events" where you have to TYPE the English letters very fast to complete the task. Sometimes it feels impossible to type so fast, and I can imagine it must be worse for those aren't used to typing the latin alphabet. But it did add urgency to the actions, making it feel more realistic. Luckily someone who played the game before helped answer this question for me.
Beyond this, the music, actresses/actors, scenes are high quality. And because of how dark the plot is (you are reborn and you have to complete missions to save the girls, and if you fail you basically get punished with death) it gives you more of a sense of purpose than playing a dating sim trying to please girls. Don't get me wrong this is a dating sim, but almost none of the girls know your true purpose: you're there to save them, sometimes while the girls are saving you.
For these reasons (and the latter in particular), this game shines far above the other Chinese FMV games. I would have to put it up there with "Knowledge or Knowledge lady", the best in my opinion, with SuperScout coming in for a close third, and Charming hearts and Secrets of the Heartbeat 4th and 5th - of course with LIAA (Love is all around) as the benchmark (so hard to rank it separately), This goes without saying, but this game is absolutely essential for Chinese FMV enjoyers. Well that's all for now, and even though I 100%, it has good replay value, at least to revisit many of the critical scenes that I went to fast over before. At least not I have a skip button handy for every scene 哈哈哈 Give this game a try, you won't regret it. 加油！
