This game is an absolute GEM.
The concept is so strange you really can't help but be drawn in: The MC randomly wishes that love were like a video game one night, and the next day she bumps into a red square on the way to school. She sees even more that day, and later learns that a strange tanuki granted her wish in the form of a curse - the attractive men around her are squares, and their resolutions/looks will gradually improve back to normal if she can find love with one of them within 3 months. What happens if she fails to do that? Who can say :)
The game has 5 main characters that all represent a color (red, blue, green, yellow and brown) but secret paths DO exist; which really adds to the replay value of this already great game. The characters are all fun in their own ways, puns/jokes still translate decently, the art and CG's are fantastic! So many different styles are seen throughout the game as you gradually evolve (or even devolve) the characters to different stages, it's very refreshing. Moments on both good and bad routes had me laughing it up.
If this was translated to English, I think it would do quite well. The main idea behind it is so good, good replay value, good art, and crazy good price. I hope it can happen one day! In my case, I had a friend who knows Japanese play along with me, and Google Translate on the side to help with the trickier kanji. I would still recommend it this way, as this game is lovely and deserves way more support!
