Allah kahretsin, ağlayarak Stardew Valley oynamaya gidiyorum...
I can't play this game because the protagonist, basically YOU, are such a terrible guy that it's not even enjoyable. A lot of girls play these games and quite frankly, a man like the main character is so unappealing that you can never get over his behaviors. The opening scene has him tell his aspiring doctor/politician GF that he is hoping to 'just bum around', meanwhile, he keeps kissing her and holding her hand, not reading her emotions, it feels like... Then she seems to miraculously not care, until he starts eyeballing girls in short shorts and tight pants. Ok, fine, a normal male looks at those things even while he is hugging his GF --I suppose (?), but then he can't turn away from them even when his GF is trying to have a conversation with him. It's like he's Abu the monkey in Aladdin, taking the gem. Really, he is that basic? Gosh, it's intolerable. The game goes on like this, with you in his Loser conciousness. He is too lazy to work, just wants to look at girls, doesn't want to get out of bed, has a bad attitude. Has an annoying goofy attitude that gets on my nerves. None of the girls in the game seem to really notice this. They seem to just react like it's a just a miscommunication. No, girls, the protagonist is just not interesting. So why would you want to play a game with a protagnist that is just not fun or interesting? I might play it just because I paid for it and I know it's short, just to see how the farming goes. But I won't really enjoy the story or the romances. In fact, I'll probably resent the game even more than I already do.
this game would almost be tolerable if not for the insufferably awful male protagonist who conveniently melts from being the most unbearable man alive into Sufficiently Empathetic For Girls To Fall In Love With Him with no real justification for doing so besides 'he worked on a farm a bit i guess' despite being a major selling point of the game, the farming literally serves no purpose and gives you no incentive to work on it aside from "you should". i'm not kidding - you make money, but the only thing you can buy with that money is..........more seeds. you might get a few lines of different flavor text in the ending if you have enough money. that's it. you can't buy like, gifts or anything. it's just there. you could slack off on your farming forever and it would make no difference, as far as i'm aware all of the women are unlikably 2D caricatures. within the first few minutes of meeting her, susanna goes off on a tirade about how medication is POISON and you should never put something as simple as anti-nausea pills in your body, CHEMICALS R BAD. marian is so ambiguously aged i cannot even begin to guess how old she's supposed to be - despite looking identical to the rest of the characters, repeated references are made to her being an older woman, and they even imply your father (presumably 20+ years older than you) has interest in dating her in one of the endings. i can only assume this schrodinger's MILF situation is due to the artist not wanting to risk drawing a wrinkle on a woman clara is interesting, but written with the kind of wanton emotional instability that i expect came from a male writer with a very flimsy grasp on the spectrum of female emotion. highlights include her bursting into hysterical tears because her father injured his leg and there was some blood, which clearly means he's totally gonna die. i appreciate jill's political career path but she is largely forgettable due to 90% of your interaction with her being brief phone calls and, also, her being kind of bland. the one thing i did appreciate was that things you learn from certain scenes will often come up in other scenes, sometimes giving you extra love points because of it. maybe jill mentions a trend that you tell clara about. or marian waxes poetic about her situation and you later quote it to jill when she's upset. it's a cute way to tie it all in and feel like your conversations aren't pointless scenes, as well as encouraging you to play the field a bit. the stats system is pointlessly obtuse. stats are raised by spending time with each girl, and you have four. but only one stat matters for each girl, ever - and IT'S NOT THE STAT YOU GET FROM SPENDING TIME WITH THAT GIRL. so in order to get marian's ending, you have to spend a lot of time with susanna first. it makes no sense and is completely counterintuitive to normal gameplay, and led to me accidentally getting susanna's ending while trying to get marian's. anyway, i didn't think i'd find a visual novel worse than roommates, but this proved me wrong. at least i could say i liked some of roommates' characters. thanks for taking two of my favorite genres (farming sim, visual novel) and fusing them into something so unambitiously bland that i can, at best, very charitably describe it as "mediocre"
My rating: 3 / 10 This game has cute anime graphics, not so bad narrations for a visual novel (but also lack of voice acting), additional bonus in a form of "economic" mini game, and 5 different endings. But that's unfortunately all that's good there. First issue is that the game is very short - you just need a few hours to finish with all the possible endings and all achievements to collect (which are only 5) - after that the game loses any replayability value. Secondary, the whole relations system that is used for different endings is a little "unnatural". There are two relationship counters: personal relations (changing based on your dialog choces, and your "characteristics" in areas connected with specific female characters you meet, you raise by just spending time with any specific person. You can max-up all the personal relations quickly, but to get to any relationship ending you need to balance some strange "interconnections" between characters, that depend on some simple numeric thresholds to be reached for the "pair" of characters, after which the ending starts and you cannot stop nor change it in any way (besides loading earlier saves - my advice: save at least once every game week!) There is this whole money-earning concept which in reality doesn't have any "positive" impact on the game (even has a "negative" one considering relationships if you're too successful in it) - and gets tedious very quickly. You start repeating almost the same things day after day. And after you figure out that the money has 0 impact on anything, you just can start ignoring that part completely. There is also this whole selection of seeds, that should introduce variety but in practice - it doesn't make much sense to invest into anything other a single one you quickly will notice offering the best seed price to product value ratio. And finally - the game doesn't even offer a wide screen graphics - the game runs in 4:3 format, which considering the fact the game was released in 2010 seems like a strange (ancient) decision from the devs. Summarizing - game is short, tedious, overpriced and too simple - and I definetely cannot recommend it unless you are completely bored and you find it at a big discount.
Flower Shop: Summer In Fairbrook is a nice visual novel game with some beautiful designs and a good soundtrack. I recommend it! 💗
I really just don't like this game. Characters and Arcs are just really generic and forgetable. I hate the main character. There was just no emotional investment compared to other visual novels. Most choices for relationships are two options and woe betide you if you guess the wrong one. There aren't many clues as to what's what. I understand VNs are meant for multiple playthroughs, but I see no point or drive to continue. Not to mention, there's little feedback in game on the stats available, it took me half a playthrough to realise what was going on with those. The art is nice and I haven't played much of the game so I'm probably missing alot - but what I have played is enough for me. It's so bland. I like the concept of the farming, but the dating/farming aspects don't meld well together, and it's just left a bad taste in my mouth. There are better VN's out there for your money's worth, honestly.
Flower Shop Summer in Fairbrook is a visual novel, where you'll make choices what to do with your week. Each activity raises a certain stat forcing you to balance your time, which stat to improve, which activity to pursue, and how hard you want to farm to earn money in the game. Certain events will occur depending on your activity. Summary The game features a male protagonist named Steve. In the game Flower Shop Summer in Fairbrook, Steve's girlfriend Jill, leaves him and due to his poor grade, his dad sends him from Los Angeles to the countryside to get work experience from his uncle. While in the countryside, Steve's eye catches three women who all know his uncle. With a fresh break up, is it time to move on, or will Steve try to repair what has been broken back home. Overall The visual novel feature 4 women and each of them is unique from one another. Each involves Steve adapting to his new lifestyle. Through interacting with them will lead to different scenarios and ending which makes the game re-playable. The story is very simple and isn't very memorable, however the artwork was pretty good. Rating: 6/10
Unfortunately, this game isn't really worth playing. You can get all the endings within a few hours. The difference between the "normal" and "special" endings for each of the four girls are a few lines of text (you get the single CG for each girl regardless of which of the two endings you get). There is no point to scheduling "Work" for any of the days; you can easily get enough money for the "special" ending without it. The story is also rather bland and for three of the four girls, it quickly devolves into "I love you" after just a few months of meeting.
Yeah, don't play this f.cking piece of sh.t. Unless you're bad at farming, you're gonna end up like me. Playing it 3 times in a row, and not getting any ending, due to the stupid reasoning of the writers. If you want to play it, search for a guide. The game is f.cking broken... PS: I just tried skipping all farming altogether. Yeah, it's of no use to spend all that time in farming. Simply pass the time, and look for a guide, and look at the endings. The farming doesn't change the endings, or the story at all... Yeah, I wouldn't even recommend this game if it were free...take the chromes, and keep moving...
This is an interesting little game. Winter Wolves has done a lot of great games, and while this is not as high up as most (It seems to be rough enough that maybe it is one of their earlier products), it still is satisfying. So, you split time between farming vegetables and fruits (berries are fruits, so are tomatoes) and trying to build a relationship with some available women... or even the one who dumped you before you got shipped off to this town. Oh yeah, you were shipped off to Fairbrook because you are basically a good-for-nothing slacker and your overbearing dad wants you to shape up... so he sent you to the brother he doesn't like so much for a taste of rural life. Now you can end up alone, or with one of the girls. Supposedly there is a normal and a special ending for each girl, but I have only seen the normal ones... guess I'm too good with the crops... (apparently there is a cash limit you shouldn't go over... cumulatively). Still a fun little thing.
