Reviews
This game is as good as the Civilization series of games. Ive lost a few and won a few. I recommend.
Overall, a pleasant 4x game that scratches a slightly different itch than Stellaris. The variety in species choice (and customization options) is excellent. The variety in buildings is somewhat lacking. The population management is subpar. Military systems are workable.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I used to love playing Space Empires 4. So when I realized this game was more or less a much more recent take on that series I was looking forward to playing it. However I've had some time with the game and I'm very disappointed with how buggy it is. I'm frequently having to load my save to figure out why something broke. My custom ship designs that I made just disappear from my shipyard menu making me incapable of making ships. Considering this is a game about space exploration/war being unable to create ships is a game breaking bug. Everything I've found online just says reload your game and make sure mods are enabled, I don't play with mods and I've spent more time restarting my game than I have playing at this point. I'm no longer having any fun, I'm troubleshooting the game more than actually playing it. Big thumbs down, what a disappointment.
Better than Stellaris and really maybe the best 4x out there
Played one full run of this game and needed 30h on a large map. Early game exploration feels nice but after that planet management is tedious and victory conditions take too damn long to achieve. If I ever play another run, it is going to be on a much smaller map with less civillizations.
I was hesitant to buy this upon its release because of the mixed reviews, but I am glad I eventually did. Many of the things that made GalCiv 3 tedious have been streamlined. The mechanics are not well explained in a lot of cases, but overall it is an improvement and has kept me entertained for hours.
Esse jogo é bem simples e muito gostoso de se jogar! Muito bom sair de Endless Space e vir pra GC4! Dois grandes jogos!
The early and mid game are fairly interesting and I like space based games. However, I can't tell you how many games I stopped playing because it is such a boring grind at the end of the game to reach victory condition. I haven't played on hardest difficulty because it requires too much knowledge of the game and optimizations. If the game is on sale you can easily get 100 FUN hours out of it before it starts getting boring
sehr langatmig
