Nuke after nuke after nuke, no gameplay
Rampant cheating. The game is practically unmoderated. Legit player will spend a lot of time collecting resources to build vehicles. Then cheaters will destroy their vehicles incredibly quickly using aim hacks and other hacks.
Uncounterable nukes in the early stages of the game. Good luck blasting through an entire hex of concrete bases and empty container spam blocking the roads. Normally takes a week to get through a hex without heavy bombers, but you're expected to do it in a day to counter nukes. Entire cheater regiments popping up and ruining weeks of work. Devman does nothing about it. Colonials have overtuned infantry weapons. Lunaire, Catena, Dusk, Quickhatch, Dawn. Their bipod MG is superior in every way. Ratcatcher is absolute garbage. Terrible accuracy, terrible bullet spread. Lamentum is a laser beam. Why don't Wardens also get a one-shot kill sniper rifle that gains stability 4x faster than regular snipers and is able to deal damage to tanks from 58m away? How about also giving us a 14.5mm rifle that can kill a half-track in less than a full mag? Hello, can we use smoke grenades with the Ospreay?? Catena lands back to back shots with supposedly full reticle bloom. Seen countless videos and been on the receiving end a million times. Can Wardens get a jeep with a commander seat that allows primary weapon usage? Please? Maybe bump Warden Heavy truck up to par with the Colonial one? Logi is the single thing in this game that should be absolutely equal on both sides. Neither side should ever have a logistic advantage by nature of their available equipment.
Dead Game Braindead Devs
Love this game, even though I joined a short, break war. However, there is a lot of bad reviews not suggesting the game, and I'll try to give a background on their bases. The game has been out for a good amount of time, so some vets are stuck on the past of the game. The game, from what I have seen, has had some updates in the past that nearly killed the game. Like most games that have large updates like this, the game always bounces back after the update is polished. You will have a lot of people also whining about the balance of the 2 factions. These guys shouldn't be taken seriously 90% of the time. Its an asymmetric war: The Wardens have equipment that is better in an area than the Collies and vice versa. And really don't listen to the logi players whining about partisans. Partisans will attack logistics players, factories, and logi trucks. Its a war where logistics powers the war machine. Cut the logistics, starve the enemy front, and allow your front to advance. This is not a factorio game where there are no threats. Expect no less than 30 minutes of work to eventually be ruined, and all the way up to several hours if you planned wrong. Join a Logi regiment to minimize the risk, but it will happen. Several new reviews will say the game is dead. Its not dead. We have seen a flux of new players, like myself, join the front. We just ended a short war, essentially a break war. No large regiment actions, no massive logi lines, no massive sieges. Even then, it was still fun. New war starts tomorrow, and the start of a full war will be packed, especially with new additions that the community wanted like AA AI. Finally, I will give this suggestion: Don't be turned off just because there is a lot of moving parts. I don't suggest going to an active and critical front to start learning how to use a mortar, you will kill friendlies. Treat every piece of equipment like its worth something because several logi players spent hard time getting that rifle, those bullets, and that uniform to the front. Your life is worth less than some equipment, especially armored vehicles. Always remember as well, do not leave a vehicle even if disabled. The enemy will steal it. Death before Dismount.
At one point this was a great game. The recent wave of hackers have made it unplayable. Sad to see the devs let such a great thing die from their refusal to fix the problem.
Hello, SIR regiment has been a Foxhole Supporting Regiment for the last 10 years. We have continued to play despite poor updates, slow QoL changes, Ever shrinking developer footprint, and weak anti-cheat systems. We have played this game teaching new players, working on helping other regiments grow. We have since tried to utilize naval equipment specifically a Destroyer. This equipment was stolen by an already mass reported group of cheaters. These players stole something that took 7 days for 13 people to make as a consistent effort. The equipment was stolen because an arbitrary squad lock timer that was not reset. The same mechanic used for truck, simple tanks, and scout planes. So 5-7 days of labor stolen because a 2 day squad lock with no warning notification system, no owner alert system, and no recourse stolen. The players who stole it were met by players from our Regiment who reported and recorded them as they charged our ship into enemy lines to instantly die. All of which was reported. In short the devs cant read "grey" dont respect your time, and wont support their community but rely on regiments like SIR to teach the new players. After 10 years 7 of which have been pure dev neglect we are forced to collectively downvote a game that when it works and everyone plays appropriately could easily be game of the year. The Devs dont respect your effort and dont respect the community enough to have active reasoning moderation. - [SIR] gael.ayala
I could sit and write a long and drawn out dissertation on how I used to have fun in this game and how various nerfs over the past few years have ruined it, but I honestly can't be bothered and it's not like anyone who matters will read this anyway. Long story short, you cannot state in a livestream that "players should not feel entirely safe in the backlines" and then constantly nerf partisan/paratrooper gameplay. The recent changes are unsustainable. There is no clear direction for what paratrooper/partisan gameplay is and the development team is actively trying to squash that part of the playerbase out of existence. If you want exciting and thrilling combat, this game is not for you. Go play Helldivers or something.
I can live with goofy balance decisions made in good faith, but what I can't live with is a faction being over tuned because they did an organized review bomb of the game. Devs have intentionally thrown any semblance of balance in order to artificially keep winrates near even. Some balance changes we needed but this is too much and done intentionally so to try to keep one faction, on one server, from doing organized review bombs of the game because they lost. Dev's have basically been taken hostage by a fraction of the player base and the game is suffering for it. It is a good game, the dev team are good folks, but they do tend to make some very derpy decisions and trying to appease the rioters has lead to a state of balance that is in the worst state I've ever seen in my 7k hours. So for this reason, I can not currently recommend the game but I do eagerly await a return to form for the game and I have no hostility toward the devsm but man you guys gotta tighten up the ship.
