Every individual soldier is a player that contributes to the war effort through logistics, base building, reconnaissance, combat, and more.
Massively Multiplayer Warfare - Thousands of players connect to the same world and fight in a persistent war that lasts for weeks. Immerse yourself in a sandbox that includes hundreds of hand crafted towns, villages, and other areas of interest.
Logistics - Comprehensive logistics game where every bullet, weapon, vehicle, and drop of fuel is produced and supplied by real players. Win battles by cutting off supply lines or sabotaging infrastructure behind enemy lines.
Trench Networks - Fortify your front line with trench lines and bunker networks. Build underground bases with ammunition storage, engine rooms, intelligence centers, and artillery emplacements.

Foxhole will give you hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of gameplay if you enjoy large-scale war games. In terms of hours played per dollar spent, it's one of the best value games I've owned. Overall 9/10 The game isn't perfect. Balancing an asymmetric war game is incredibly difficult, and the developers have made mistakes over the years. However, they have consistently continued to update the game and work on addressing issues raised by the community. One challenge the developers face is that many players become very attached to their chosen faction. As a result, discussions about balance can sometimes be influenced by faction loyalty, making it difficult to separate genuine balance concerns from faction bias. When reading negative reviews, it's worth keeping in mind that many come from veteran players with hundreds or even thousands of hours in the game. Some of their criticisms are valid and come from a place of passion for the game, while others are frustrations with specific balance decisions or development choices and others just because they been told to downvote the game by their own regiment leaders because they didn't get what they want.(meh people) Overall, if you're looking for a unique persistent-war MMO where every bullet, tank, ship, and aircraft is built and supplied by players, Foxhole is absolutely worth trying.
This game is truly one of a kind. Foxhole is a war game where the goal is to defeat the opposing faction. Unlike a Battlefield or Call of Duty match, however, a single war can last for several IRL weeks. Imagine playing an RTS, except every single unit is controlled by a real player. The infantry, the tanks, the builders, and the workers gathering resources are all real people. Almost every building you see was built by players. The equipment you receive on the front line was gathered, produced, and delivered by someone else. Despite the scale of the game, the community is one of it's greatest strengths. Most veterans players are happy to teach new players and answer any questions they may have. Foxhole is a game that rewards coordination. Tanks need at least 2 peoples to operate, one driver and one gunner. Artillery batteries rely on spotters, logistics and peoples operating and reloading the guns. Most large-scale operations require dozens of players communicating and working together. Foxhole doesn't lock you into a specific role. You can spend the morning fighting on the front line, switch to logistics in the afternoon to help supply the front line, and later crew a tank with a friend with the resources you farmed to build it. What I love most about this game is the stories that emerge from every war. One day, I'm helping hold a town against a massive enemy assault. The next day, I'm taking part in a huge invasion of an island that feels straight out of D-Day. A few days later, I might be running supplies to the front to support an offensive hundreds of meters away. Whether you prefer playing casually or investing hundreds of hours, Foxhole has a place for you. You can jump in for an hour to help defend a town or run logistics. Or you can spend an entire day managing your facility, expanding your bunker base. Don't hesitate to join a regiment, even if you're a casual player. Most of them are very welcoming and are always looking for an extra pair of hands. Before long, you'll be crewing tanks, firing artillery, or taking part in large-scale operations with people you just met. Some of my best memories in Foxhole came from playing with complete strangers who are now my friends. You're just a cog in a machine, and that's exactly the point. You're not a hero destined to win the war on your own. You're one soldier among thousands, working together toward a single objective: defeating the enemy in a massive war of attrition.

look at how they massacred my boy "player-built structures" great concept ruined by the most intern balancing decisions made in pve history If you plan on purchasing this game for large-scale warfare i.e. big fronts battle with combined arms, do not buy. This game's only incentive is for small skirmishes of 20-30 players on one team as the core game design for 100v100 has been abandoned due to weird balancing decisions by the devs to only encourage small frontline offensives. Player built structures i.e. defenses have been directly or indirectly nerfed either from "buffs" or "balancing buffs" such that you are wasting your time building these defensive structures unless you would want to slave away with a macro or autoclicker every 15mins. Then watch it get deleted in 5mins by all the different structure demolisher items in this game - or 1 guy with a flamethrower. You will not be able to do most things advertized in the trailer unless you are part of a regi or dedicated squad The maintenance and construction for the facilities of large ships require high amounts of player logistics to supply, construct and crew. Planes and large planes (minus scout planes) are locked behind tedious resource afk for a material that is difficult to obtain which makes these planes too valueable to be used for new players - with each plane part costing this same material to replace when destroyed. This forces you to join regiments to have continuous supply for these materials. If you are looking for large tank battles, which you may find from youtube or elsewhere, these are no longer a part of the game anymore. The recent changes to the game have essentially deleted the need for tank lines or tank resistance, you would instead be looking at more infantry defenses and 1-2 tanks in simultaneous battle with some complementary artillery shelling. This game used to be great, it had promising concept, but with each new patch and update the devs have neglected essentially 90% of their playerbase, instead only focusing on ways to break "stalemates" at the front or awkward "balancing" changes that directly conflict with the core game design which have consequently deleted the aforementioned 90% of the playerbase. This is still a great concept, give it a try, see what you like, as all these roles are still playable somewhat. But be warned that the player retention for this game is low as it stands. ================
For the more technical tldr; if u were in the gaming loop:
Tremolas were invented for infantry pve, instead of relying on tanks or siege equipment. However they were designed to be fired outside of AI defensive range - which made building useless, since in theory any building will be hit out of its range. This 'grenade' is also an all-in-one projectile, it acts as a grenade, deals damage and tracks tanks, and deals damage to structures. Then, this weapon then became locked to only one faction, so only one faction builders had to experience this. The weapon that fired this is also a faction-exclusive weapon, and has an extra 2.5m range compared to its counterpart. There are many flame vehicles in this game, but the only mobile accessible vehicle to be readily built is a flame tank (Vulcan) - there is also the Vesta tankette but this is negligible, these two are both faction-locked. You can bypass 50% of the defenses with the tank armor, and then afk pve the rest with the tremola, and then be able to burn all the defenses in the area with just 2-3 people. The recent +5m to the 75mm talos has effectively made it have more range than the bt (expensive late-game tank), while using the same ammo with cheaper cost. 75mm is well, advertized as a pve munition and bt exclusive ammo, so theres that. The 40m also outranges most AT. And this is faction-locked too. Air units? Well generally, most builders would have quit the game at this point, so we only looking at the last 10% of players remaining, negligible at best.
I have played in three wars now and like the game. The bad: Artillery. We were once hit with over 6 hours of constant shelling. It's a waste of time to even try to play as all you do is respawn over and over without even being able to play. With a 30 second cool down and the time it takes to pick a weapon and supplies you spend most of your time doing everything except playing the game. Once artillery is researched the game isn't fun anymore and should be called "Death by Artillery". The good: My favorite part of the game is the community. It is the heartbeat of the game, and I have several good memories. Some of my favorites were: a handful of us defending a relic base against impossible odds, a desperate charge against a dug in enemy or just being part of a sticky brigade. Game mechanics are fairly easy to pick up with a little practice. It is an open world, so you have lots of different roles to play. I split my time between manufacturing basic supplies, mid logistical runs and front-line battles. I like mixing it up. A great game but is unplayable when there is constant artillery.
I could sit and write a long and drawn out dissertation on how I used to have fun in this game and how various nerfs over the past few years have ruined it, but I honestly can't be bothered and it's not like anyone who matters will read this anyway. Long story short, you cannot state in a livestream that "players should not feel entirely safe in the backlines" and then constantly nerf partisan/paratrooper gameplay. The recent changes are unsustainable. There is no clear direction for what paratrooper/partisan gameplay is and the development team is actively trying to squash that part of the playerbase out of existence. If you want exciting and thrilling combat, this game is not for you. Go play Helldivers or something.
Love this game, even though I joined a short, break war. However, there is a lot of bad reviews not suggesting the game, and I'll try to give a background on their bases. The game has been out for a good amount of time, so some vets are stuck on the past of the game. The game, from what I have seen, has had some updates in the past that nearly killed the game. Like most games that have large updates like this, the game always bounces back after the update is polished. You will have a lot of people also whining about the balance of the 2 factions. These guys shouldn't be taken seriously 90% of the time. Its an asymmetric war: The Wardens have equipment that is better in an area than the Collies and vice versa. And really don't listen to the logi players whining about partisans. Partisans will attack logistics players, factories, and logi trucks. Its a war where logistics powers the war machine. Cut the logistics, starve the enemy front, and allow your front to advance. This is not a factorio game where there are no threats. Expect no less than 30 minutes of work to eventually be ruined, and all the way up to several hours if you planned wrong. Join a Logi regiment to minimize the risk, but it will happen. Several new reviews will say the game is dead. Its not dead. We have seen a flux of new players, like myself, join the front. We just ended a short war, essentially a break war. No large regiment actions, no massive logi lines, no massive sieges. Even then, it was still fun. New war starts tomorrow, and the start of a full war will be packed, especially with new additions that the community wanted like AA AI. Finally, I will give this suggestion: Don't be turned off just because there is a lot of moving parts. I don't suggest going to an active and critical front to start learning how to use a mortar, you will kill friendlies. Treat every piece of equipment like its worth something because several logi players spent hard time getting that rifle, those bullets, and that uniform to the front. Your life is worth less than some equipment, especially armored vehicles. Always remember as well, do not leave a vehicle even if disabled. The enemy will steal it. Death before Dismount.
