This is a pick-up-and-play, pure stress-relief top-down pixel Roguelike game. Don't overthink it: there are no mind-bending build calculations, no obscure backstory—just raw combat instinct. Let your score do the talking. PLEASE DO NOT HAVE MUCH EXPECTATIONS!

About
This game is a Godot Engine learning demo. It features no storyline, incomplete content, and no guarantee of game balance. It is intended solely for technical exchange and experimental entertainment. This is not a formal commercial product.
Some assets and code are sourced from Bilibili@码客二十二.
Overall production, code refinement, and publication are by Bilibili@巧克力Chocola_.
This is a boring, plotless, and arguably unfinished 2D Pixel Roguelike game.
Please do not have high expectations! This game was created purely to learn the Godot engine. It contains no substantial gameplay content; it’s barely even entertaining.
It is an informal project with no claim to significant value.
Q: Why release such an embarrassing game on Steam?
A: Honestly, I don’t know myself. Just treat it as a joke. If you look closely at the details on the Steam store page, you’ll see this is just a prank/meme project... I actually hope you don’t buy this game.
Q: If it’s just a joke game, why is it paid?
A: Originally, I wanted to price it as a joke (like several million dollars), but Steam apparently wouldn’t let me set that price.
Q: Is the game difficult? (Meow?)
A: Overall, it shouldn’t be too hard. The developer has tweaked the values many times.
Which devices support this game?
A: It supports all platforms: Mac, iOS, Android, Windows, and SteamOS/Linux. It even runs on some web browsers that support specific assembly instruction sets (Web). The developer holds an Apple Developer subscription, so iOS/macOS builds are legit.
I encountered a BUG / crash / error. Where can I report it?
A: Since this is a learning project, bugs are expected, and the developer is already aware of some. If you’d like to help the developer improve, feel free to leave a comment describing the issue on Bilibili@巧克力Chocola_ videos or posts. You can also add the developer’s QQ on the Steam store page to report issues.
Note: The author may not fix issues immediately, or might not fix them at all.
Are the game’s assets/code fully original and copyrighted by the developer? (Miao?)
A: Some assets are from Bilibili@码客二十二. The overall compilation, secondary development, inclusion of certain assets, and publication were completed by Bilibili@巧克力Chocola_. We respect and thank the original author for their open-source sharing spirit.
If the original author believes any assets infringe on their rights, please add the author’s QQ on the Steam store page to explain the issue. Please remark: "Fox Shooter Asset Infringement Case Submission".
Can I critique, suggest, record videos, or quote the game on social media platforms (including Mainland China, HK/Mac/TW, and global social media)?
A: Of course! Since this is a learning demo, I welcome suggestions and critiques. However, please do not insult anyone. The developer might cry upon seeing insults and might even report you : (
Is this game fun? (Meow?) Is it worth downloading? (Meow?)
A: DO NOT HAVE ANY EXPECTATIONS!!!
If you are looking for a genuine, high-quality time-killing Roguelike, go left to The Binding of Isaac or right to Brotato.
However, if you just want to complete some collection achievements, the developer doesn’t mind if you buy and play, but please do not overspend (this is very important).
Will there be future updates? (Meow?)
A: Currently, there are no clear plans for further development. This is mainly a phased learning summary. Whether it gets improved depends entirely on the developer’s future time and circumstances. Please do not bet on it or expect too much. After all, the author is just an ordinary high school student grinding through life.
Why use pixel art?
A: Pixel art has a low barrier to entry, and the developer can only draw pixel art on a computer.
This game is very simple. The game code is open source, including Godot build assets and project files.
The developer promises to create a high-quality pixel mini-game in the future! Stay tuned~
If you really can’t stand it and want to leave a negative review, that’s fine. But please do not insult any individuals or nations, and do not post politically sensitive content (Yes, I’m talking about those who randomly accuse others of being spies/trolls everywhere. Do they really think their IQ is higher than a Border Collie’s?).
If any experts review the code and have optimization suggestions, you are very welcome and greatly appreciated! 🙏
Meow Meow Meow~ 🐱

Fox Shooter, developed and published by 张嘉祺, feels less like a conventional indie release and more like a small-scale experimental project made visible to the public. On the surface, it presents itself as a top-down shooter with pixel-art visuals and a straightforward premise: control a fox, eliminate enemies, and survive for as long as possible. But almost immediately, it becomes clear that the game is intentionally minimal, offering a very stripped-down interpretation of the genre without many of the features players might expect. The gameplay is built around simplicity and immediacy. You move within confined arenas, fire at approaching enemies, and attempt to stay alive while pushing your score higher. There are no elaborate systems to learn, no branching upgrades, and no layered progression mechanics to master. This gives the game an arcade-like feel where sessions are short and self-contained, making it easy to jump in and out without commitment. For players looking for something quick and uncomplicated, this can be mildly appealing, as it removes any barriers between starting the game and actively playing it. However, this same simplicity quickly reveals its limitations. Without progression systems, meaningful variety, or evolving challenges, the experience tends to plateau early. Enemy encounters don’t change significantly, and the lack of new mechanics or upgrades means that each session feels very similar to the last. What initially works as a clean, focused design gradually becomes repetitive, as there is little incentive to continue beyond improving a score. The absence of depth makes it difficult for the game to sustain engagement over longer periods. One of the more unusual aspects of Fox Shooter is its tone and presentation. It doesn’t attempt to disguise its scale or ambition; instead, it comes across as a project that openly embraces its rough edges. This gives it a certain honesty, as it feels less like a product designed to compete in the market and more like a learning exercise shared with players. For some, this transparency can be appreciated as a glimpse into the development process, but for others, it may reinforce the sense that the game is incomplete or lacking refinement. Visually, the game adopts a basic pixel-art style that serves its purpose without drawing much attention. The environments and character designs are functional, providing enough clarity for gameplay but little in the way of personality or atmosphere. Sound design follows a similar pattern, remaining simple and unobtrusive. Everything about the presentation reflects the game’s minimalist approach, which keeps the focus on the core mechanics but also limits its ability to create a memorable identity. Because of its experimental nature, Fox Shooter occupies a somewhat unusual space. It doesn’t aim to deliver a deep or long-lasting experience, and it doesn’t try to compete with more fully featured shooters. Instead, it offers a narrow slice of gameplay that can be enjoyed briefly before its limitations become apparent. Whether this works depends largely on expectations—those approaching it as a small, casual distraction may find some value, while those seeking depth, variety, or polish are likely to come away disappointed. In the end, Fox Shooter is best understood as a modest and exploratory project rather than a fully realized game. It provides a glimpse into a developer’s early efforts and offers a simple, accessible gameplay loop, but it lacks the depth and refinement needed to stand out within its genre. Its appeal is limited, but its straightforward nature and honesty give it a certain niche charm for players willing to approach it on its own terms. Rating: 5/10

This Game changed my life! :o
急需战败cg(╯-_-)╯╧╧
