The game is good, racing is smooth and quite competitive. But, the game has a few issues outside of the gameplay. If you have a slight issue with your connection. It has a tendency to crash the game as you reconnect. I can't see why reconnecting could cause the game to crash. That's the only reason I wouldn't recommend the game. Especially you need internet to play the game. Everything is locked without it. If you have a hand held device. No internet can extremely limit your gameplay outside of your home. Best to have a powerful hotspot if you want to play it at work or on a trip.
I honestly dont understand the hate this game gets. To me, its the best racing sim to play if you're not willing to sink few hundred into iRacing.
I don't know what they think they're doing with this game. They took everything that made forza motorsports good and wiped their asses with it. What a waste of time. Whoever is responsible for this trash existing should be fired. Just go pirate one of the older forza motorsport 5 or something. Don't waste your time on this game.
The game's physics are great, but they have stopped adding to the game, it feels empty of tracks and does not treat hybrid cars in a realistic manner. They made it seem like this game would continue getting service being the supposed last Motorsport game, and then dumped their players that come for a more realistic immersive racing experience leaving them without many choices of tracks, and could always use a wider selection of cars since many of them are so similar to each other. It was supposed to be live service then they dumped their playerbase.
Horrendous playing with anything but a controller. Oh, and it's abandonware at this rate. No future improvements. No difference since playing this on xbox game pass. Don't waste any money or spare change you have on this. Even 65% discount is not worth it for this whale of a package. 130+GB 42/57 achievements unlocked as per MS account. I've played more than 600 hrs on game pass. This review was specifically related to the direct drive wheel support of this game. Since releases of new content have been cancelled and multiplayer, which is the main game mode, is almost abandoned, why not reduce the price further than just by 50%? [It's definitely abandonware]
I don't know what people are complaining about. This game is great. If you want a "Gran Turismo for the PC" sim-lite, this is the closest you're going to get. Granted I have not touched multiplayer and don't plan to, so everything I have to say is about the singleplayer. The production value is obvious. The game looks amazing. There is a ton of licensed cars and tracks. All the settings a PC game should have, and good performance. The frame pacing is extremely even, which is important for a racing game. Running it unlocked with the graphics turned up to max, the variance between highs and lows was only about 3-5 fps. I chose to lock the frame rate slightly below that, and the game never seems to budge or stutter. The engine they've built is clearly optimized for the job. I did not enjoy the Skinner box nonsense, so I disabled all of the HUD and XP grind popups except for fuel/tier wear and speedometer. Expert settings, cockpit view, no racing line. This gives me exactly what I had been looking for. An immersive singleplayer circuit racer with car progression, realistic enough handling and tuning, designed to be played on a controller. With everything from old road cars to modern hypercars. The game being "dead" just means it's complete. No live service FOMO. All the content is just there waiting to be played, as it should be. Forza 2023 seems to fill the exact niche I was looking for. A racing game to pop back into sporadically, run a few races, maybe buy a new car, try to beat my own times. It's not something I'm going to binge obsessively. It just sits there in my library (alongside Dirt 2.0) for whenever I feel like playing a racing game.
