With the current state of the game I would not recommend it, especially at the price its at. I have had to jump through multiple hoops to even the game to play properly on day one by setting it run on my PC as an admin to then have to go through the Microsoft game services to make sure things were "up to date" and now I have to change the language and restart the game each time I play it to not worry about it crashing without any sort of crash log after five minutes. If I didn't have to deal with that stuff I would've overlooked the blatant re-usage of cars through the festival playlist and the lack of road racing events in comparison to off-road based ones among many other things that either don't make sense or are just annoying to deal with. Definitely regret buying the pre-release and would recommend to anyone looking at this game to wait until next year and when it goes on sale, hopefully by then the devs pull their heads out from wherever they have them and the game is actually worth spending time in.
Despite my non recommendation, I will continue to play the game...driving around is fun and the occasional race is too. However I do not recommend it because most times the game does not load on first try and some genius developer thought it was a good idea to cap events you create at a max of 5k winnings. Part of the fun for me in FH5 was creating events, using props etc. But if I am only going to get 5k to win a long event why bother. Whoever is responsible for that decision is an idiot.
It's like FH5 but better optimized and with even more annoying cutscenes and mandatory special events. Kinda annoying how fast they started releasing DLC. The game just came out, can't you at least wait half a year? The Japan setting is beautiful but there's so many JDM cars that aren't in the game. I'm assuming they will be part of a future DLC which is kinda disgusting TBH.

Unfortunate lack of hardware support.
I mean I'm sure this game is great. But huge let down in terms of hardware support/ compatibility. For something that has wheel setting setup, it was the least pleasant experience I've experienced. I play on a pretty regular run of the mill PC. Nothing crazy. Mid tier and popular peripherals. Corsair headset, Moza wheel and shifter, ebay ebrake. - Couldn't get force feedback to work after reading every guide. Did telemetry setup, port definitions - it would get signal but it wouldn't really line up to the game, wheel jerk, super floaty until it would kick suddenly for a bump. - I mean i've been able to get usable Configs - even if a bit cludgy - in games with way lower budgets and smaller teams. and fewer wheel settings set up in the settings menu. - Have to start the game with the shifter unplugged, then plug it in (only once you're in a car- otherwise it won't work), and only then can you set it up. Once set up- you still have to unplug and plug it in (with a desktop a huge PITA), every time you launch. -Surprisingly, the cheap Ebay no name ebrake i have worked as expected. - If my 3DConnxtion mouse was plugged in, all the behaviors of the previous would reset any debugging because for some reason a CAD mouse is actually recognized as a gaming device, while the wheel is not. -My corsair void 2 headsets mic sounds like a robot voice - Only when in game. Updated everything including firmware - issue persisted. When I was in discord mic was perfect, the second I tabbed to Forza6- mr. Roboto. I'm sure the story is on par with what Forza has made in the past and I was really looking forward to it. But just such a big let down to finally have the hardware to play this game in its most fun format. A framework is allegedly supported . If put in just a little more support for hardware, I would love to try this again. Returned after 1.25 hours of trying to get a steering wheel to work.
Forza 6 is amazing racing. Really fun to play Convoy with your friends.
Watch out for the Forza Mod "Cm Artie" on the disscusions hes emotionally allergic and sensitive to comments. Bann you for critizing the game in a heart beat. Heres my ban below Ban notification from a Forza Horizon 6 developer (Steam Profile Cm Artie) — 1 hour ago You have been banned from Forza Horizon 6 Community Hub You have been banned from Forza Horizon 6 Community Hub by a Forza Horizon 6 developer I just got this Private message "Hi. Your warning was for the doctors/engineers comment which we both know was a racist remark. Usually that would result in a ban from the forums" "The forza mod proving my point the game runs and plays like it was made by doctors and engineers" Ban Reason: Racist comments While this ban is active, you will not be able to post or comment in the Forza Horizon 6 Community Hub or upload new content to this community hub. If you believe this ban was issued by mistake, please contact Steam Support. This is a permanent ban. It was fun for a while pretty much a "Single" player game, My biggest gripe's with this game are below. I enjoyed the game for a while but its the same as the other forza games. Its a copy paste with nothing new besides the location. 400 clothing options, 300 horn options, 200 prostetic arm options for a character you barley see, Enjoy the 1 body kit option for cars IN JAPAN THE HOME OF JDM go figure. Pronouns? Dont worry this game has you covered lmfao. This game is loaded with cheaters and hackers that cause nothing but problems in multiplayer. GL getting those challenges done, HAH! You wont. The AI Dialog NPC's are absolultey burtal to listen to I turned that off, game is much better. Legend Island is over rated and extremly boring so dont get your hopes up. For a game in Japan, No idea why there is so much off road drifting zones. You can really tell AI had a huge infulence on this game after some play time. They should call this game ANTI SOCIAL FH6. Social spaces like car meets often deserted, and with no built-in voice or text chat on PC/Console, interacting with strangers is extremely difficult and makes it hard to casually connect with friends or meet new people. Dont buy this game It lacks every thing you would expect a racing game based in Japan to have and if anything disrespects the Culture of Japan. This will be the last Forza game I ever buy. This game wasnt made for gamers it was made for corporate share holders. I wont appeal my bann because im right and could care less. Just talking about it because people need to know what a dumpster fire this game is once you played it for a bit.
Game now crashes constantly. Unplayable..
DO NOT BUY! Slop that you have to grind like real job, to enjoy the game. MICROSLOP DON'T CARE ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
Great game, but it crashes more often than my Bethesda games with hundreds of mods
I paid $70 for this based on how much I loved Forza Horizon 4. The good: - It's in Japan, and the scenery is beautiful. The graphics and details are gorgeous. I can't fault any of that. - Car choices focused on Japanese cultural icons and history The bad: - The map feels small. They say it's 25% bigger than FH4, but for some reason it feels smaller. Lots of empty space. - It's not as immersive as FH4. FH4 felt British, and you had events like the Top Gear driving Episodes that gave the whole game more character. FH6 just feels bland by comparison. - Lots of cars missing from FH4. I really just wanted the Lancia 037 that was in the last 2 games, but is somehow absent. The McLaren Senna is gone, which was on the loading screen of FH4. At the time of this review, FH6 has 150 fewer cars than FH4. - Modifications are bland, boring, and just carried over from FH4. Really nothing new to speak of, but worse yet, some of the mods are missing. Customization overall is lacking. There's nothing satisfying about modifying the cars and it becomes tedious after a while when all of the cars have basically the same available modifications. - Online races are a joke. You'll do a canyon carving race, time and brake each corner perfectly in a sports car, and get beaten by 12+ seconds by a guy in a lifted Ford Bronco. Bro what? I realize this game doesn't target realism but give me a break. The other online races reward abusive driving and you frequently get rammed into walls which then causes you to incur the penalty, not the person who did the ramming. There's no hope for clean racing. - One of the most immersive things in a game is the music. There is one single Japanese music playlist in this game, with only 25 songs, which starts to feel repetitive far sooner than it should. If this is your first Forza Horizon game, you'll probably enjoy it, but if you end up buying FH4 after playing this, you'll probably notice there's something missing. I have about 35 hours into this game and it's starting to feel dull. In it's current state, at its current price, I can't say I recommend this game. Drop it another $30 and it would be worthwhile, but at $70 (or even $120 for the premium edition), it doesn't provide the experience and value the cost suggests it should. I'll update this review if future DLCs and updates to the game change that.
