Fun game so far! Travelling doesn't take too much time imo and there is even some hidden content on the map for those who like to explore it. Crafting as well as gathering resources doesn't take too long. All in all feels like a solid game.
I bought Forsaken Portals cheap on sale. During the first few hours of playing, I liked this game. I appreciate Indie games trying to do something different, and this looked like a casual version of the X series. But the further I got in the game, the more apparent it became that this store page is riddled with deceptions. For that reason, I do not recommend the game. It should have been honest about what it is - a battle card game with the theme of a space simulator. Instead, it hypes up game play elements that do not exist: 1) The universe is not "huge." There are a few, sequentially unlocked space sectors with a clear, one-way direction through. 2) You don't "build your own space stations", you buy 1 of 2 prefab options and decide where to plop it down. 3) Upgrading your ship is not how you defeat "the strongest enemies in the galaxy." For that you have to upgrade your card deck, which is not specific to your ships. 4) You will not "build a trading empire.' Prices do not fluctuate, there is no supply/demand dynamic, and your small cargo hold is the same size even as you progress through the ship choices. 5) There are no "huge hand designed worlds" to explore. The same station types repeat in numeric sequence, like Power Plant I, II, III, and offer the same basic services and goods. 6) You're not going to need your station for "exploring places that could not be reached otherwise." The map is revealed and you already know your destination - you just need a gas station to reach it. Otherwise, the station is superfluous. The interior of your station is 4 rooms with interactive terminals, connected by long hallways. There is absolutely no reason these terminals could not be combined into one and accessed from space, and that would have been much more efficient. 7) It's not "sometimes necessary to defend oneself." The combat card game is the core mechanic. You cannot advance without card combat. 8) And god, if only the card combat animations went as fast as they do in the edited video, but they don't. I am not asking for explosions and whirling lights to be entertained. I just want the option to turn the animations off to get through the card battles faster. Ultimately, the veneer of mining, trading, crafting, and missions has just one purpose - manufacture more and more cards for your deck so you can defeat enemies who have progressively better decks than yours. That's the game play loop. When you aren't card battling, you're making/getting more cards. So if that's your thing, here's the game for you. I'm telling you this because whoever created this store page didn't and should have. There really is nothing at all wrong with this game for what it is. The developer's should be forthright and proud of what they accomplished. What's wrong is what the store page represents the game to be and the inflated price that goes with it.
played through twice, liked it even better after the new update
Nice Game! I like space themed games like this one and had a good time!
I was looking for something like hearthstone and found this little gem because I didn't want to spend a fortune on potential rubbish, nor did I fancy the overly colourful manga stuff. sometimes it's good to rummage in the depths of the store, that's where the real treasures are... crafting is new to me but the whole space atmosphere really hooked me. delightful mix of exploration and combat!
Kudos guys great game love playing
What won me over right away was the sound design and visuals: Each star system is so beautifully designed you could use a screenshot as your desktop background. The attention to detail lets you know that someone really put some thought into this (the emergency exit signs in the station, for example). Tactical combat with different decks is fun, although I had no previous experience with turn-based games!
It's fun! I had not expected to be able to play that long for that low price and still haven't finished the story.
Good game. Resource collection, Crafting, Card battles.
pretty fun so far
