https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byvuLA20gM8 Echoing a lot of other comments on here, PowersVR is a really well done superhero game with a huge amount of potential, but it is definitely worth noting that right now it is closer to a proof-of-concept than a game. So although the content of the game is quite lacking right now, everything that is there is done very well, which gives me confidence for the final product being really great. As of now, you can explore a city, unlock new heroes, fight robots who are pattering about, and do challenges. The different superpowers are extremely fun and unique. My favourite by far is the ability to fly, (which is extra fun to do with the touch controllers) although the running fast and fireball abilities are also crazy fun. Right now there is no story or anything like that, and it is definitely something I would love to see in the future, with some kind of progression through levels. I think it would also be awesome if there were boss battles that included fighting super villains who had their own powers and henchmen enemy types. The graphics have a cartoony, comic book type aesthetic that fits the game perfectly. Similarly, the character design is excellent and the hero archetypes are unique but still familiar enough to understand their superhero roles/powers/etc at a glance. The sound effects in the game are good, but as of now there is only one, fitting, but very looped music track. I am using the Oculus Touch and had no problems since the controls are very simple, and in fact not all buttons on the touch controller are even being used. Heroes are selected by the thumbstick which is perfectly intuitive, though one quality of life improvement could be to make it not necessary to actually have to click the thumbstick down to select, as once or twice I found myself clicking and nothing happens, leading to a bit of a niggly interaction. My VR comfort with this game was great; I experienced no sickness. Locomotion depends on the hero you are using and can vary from walking to teleporting to sprinting like the Flash. Some powers are actually flagged with a motion sickness warning (eg fly and dash) which is a great idea, but actually I found I none of the powers gave me any kind of VR nausea at all. I'm sure a large contributing factor is that the game runs smoothly. So right now I see this game at a huge crossroads in development direction. A price of $5 might be more fitting for the game as of now since it is closer a to tech demo than a finished game, and a lower price might encourage more people to get on board and give critical feedback for its development, but either way if progress continues as is, I see a huge potential for the devs to create something really awesome and unique.
This review was written on the day this game was released. This game has me pretty excited, it currently has a lot of potential, especially for how low the price is. I've been wanting a cool superhero game to play in VR and with a little bit of work this could be great. The comic book visual style was a nice design choice and the power animations look awesome for the most part. I enjoy most of the 8 powers currently in the game, though they could use some polishing. The game is pretty bare-bones on the gameplay side at the moment, but thats expected for an EA title. Here is some long-winded constructive criticism for the Dev: General Critques:

[strike]Hand representation in the game seems slightly off. Almost as if your real world hands are gripping the wrists of the avatar hands. Arms feel very long.[/strike] FIXED :)
Seeing your hands make different gestures for different powers would be a cool touch.
City feels a bit empty with no people/traffic (I'm sure more will be added later)
Menu button has no function currently.
Powers: Teleport: A must have for VR games and a good power to give right off the bat. While I don't use it as much as the other movement options (I have no VR sickness issues). [strike]I think it could use a bit more range, and the indicator should be a bit taller, as sometimes I couldn't see it if aiming up at a building ledge[/strike] FIXED :) . A lot of places won't let you teleport onto them like slanted House roofs. Alloy (Gattling Gun): A classic for damage dealing. Pretty standard, but I feel maybe it should have a few different firing modes like missiles and such for variety. Iron Man / War Machine style! Fireball Made me feel like the Human Torch. Cool charge animation and seemingly infinite range. [strike]Ran into a small bug where the hitboxes on the fireball seemed too large and would explode right next to me as if it was hitting me/the ground instead of firing.[/strike] ALSO FIXED Spells Nice job on the visuals with this one. Seems to be a knockback spell and a damage dealing spell, even though to sign says there is a "disable" spell? They could use a bit more range and maybe a few more spells added to cycle through. Also please add an indicator on your hand telling you which spell is currently equipped! Shield My least favorite because it doesnt allow you to move since it's in your left hand (movement hand). Long cooldown on the short range knockback attack. [strike]The way you have to hold the shield makes it soo you can't see the cooldown meter on your hand too.[/strike] FIXED Flying: Couldn't wait for this one. Flight direction is controlled by controller direction. [strike]Feels good, but its wayyyyyyy too slow[/strike] Kinda fixed, could still be faster*. Maybe the amount the trigger is pulled could control speed? Or maybe the menu button or full trigger click could enable super speed flight. You can also fly through the roofs of buildings currently. Super Speed: Yes!!! My preferred movement option. Effects on edge of screen while running are cool. Running direction is controlled by where you are looking, but I think there should be an option to let you change it to controller direction like flying. Sometimes you need to look where your going before you change direction. It would be cool if running into an enemy would hurt them or knock them back. Theres currently a bug if you run directly at an enemy, it will place you on top of their head and then you are stuck there until you change to flight/teleport. Heatvision: My Favorite damage dealing power. It just feels good to use! A burn trail follows anywhere that u look. I have no complaints on this one except maybe a little bit more damage and the [strike]looping sound effect while using it can be a little obnoxious[/strike] FIXED. Great job so far, and can't wait to see whats in store for this game in the future! EDIT: Crossed out issues fixed with quick update.
So i bought this game and it would seem that there is no updates for it and others no way of information. I count the game as dead. Edit- So i now find out that the game leaves early access with a small revamp and all promised features are dumped.
Experienced on Windows Mixed Reality
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/M-2rVHgvit0 I want to be Homelander in VR. This game almost fulfills that fantasy. Unfortunately, in the end, it fails in giving us a satisfying superhero fantasy. The game is just too buggy too recommend, on top of having a lifeless sandbox to play in. You have 8 heroes (achievements say 12) and the good news is that they all look & feel different. There's a nice mix of superpowers. Unfortunately, they are pretty uneven in quality. The Homelander female clone (Whirlwind) can fly around the city and shoots laser beams out of her eyes. It would be fun if you could set the city ablaze. Unfortunately, you can't destroy anything. For all your super powers, you can't even bring down a street light. Want to set people ablaze and watch them scurry away in fear? Well, you can't because there are no people. There are no cars. It's a pretty city, with a cool art style and some nice animations, but it's a lifeless city with only a few enemies scattered around, with some collectibles to find, and a few mini-games to engage in. Unfortunately, none of those mini-game activities are fun. The racing one would probably be fun, if I didn't get stuck on the terrain each time I tried the race. The fireball throwing mini-game has a bad throwing mechanic. The wave shooter is pretty bad in every aspect, even among wave shooters, it's a bad example of one. I do like the art style. I like all the different super-powers available. Unfortunately, the game was just too buggy. I would clip through the floor, through buildings, almost everything and would constantly get stuck. Several of the supes are just totally worthless. It also seemed like certain things just didn't work properly. Plus the game crashed. I know the game is only $10, but I'm not even sure there's enough content here. This game should have just gone free to play instead of released out of Early Access. Rate 3.5/10.
Please note: I received a free Steam key through the Steam Curator connect program. Another abandon cash grab game never to leave early access. Don't buy early access games this always happens.
Abandoned Game, not much to it at all
The game may be just a prototype, but the machanics are there. And oh are they fun to use! You can combine a locomotion and weapon power together to create your own style. The ones I liked to use were the flying and lasersigh, but also the speedster and minigun. It makes you really feel powerful! Now they just have to develop a story and game around the mechanics and you will have a solid game! It is worth its price, especially if you like to demo your VR headset. Some feedback to the dev: Please let the speedster run on walls and maybe add superstrength which can demolish buildings and throw cars.
There is potential for this game but at the moment its not worth the buy
It´s not what I expected for several reasons: There aren´t clear objectives, it doesn´t has a left-right turn option on the controller and it seems the game is half done (loading times are ugly, options menu don´t work, you can get blocked inside or on top of buildings, etc). It gave me the impression that the game is not ended
It had great potential but was abandoned by the devs and doesn't even have as much content as a demo would have.
