If you were to put a gun to my head and ask me if I enjoyed it i'd say yes reluctantly but there are SO MANY places this could improve. Most aggravatingly several levels are easy to get lost in like the basement and egypt (without a map) turning 10 minutes into half an hour, there is far too much of a reliance on "monster closets" to spawn enemies, you will CONSTANTLY run out of ammo because you could hold less than 3 reloads worth at a time even with maxed out carrying capacity, and health is far too sparsely laid about. Worse yet because you're frantically running around there is absolutely NO CHANCE to admire the absolutely beautiful monster design. And the fact that the entire game ends on a "IT WAS ALL IN LE HEAD OOOOOO" with almost zilch explanation just makes it feel like this goes out on a wet fart
The gameplay feels much smoother then FMF1, which is sad because the balancing is garbage. You get a ton of customizability in your skill-book and guns..that you cant use. Enjoy using 3 of the near 30 available skills all game, as youll get the best ones early. Each of the few weapons you get have a few forms of which youre stuck using one type. There is little to no healing available while you get spammed with tanky enemies. Played on normal but feels like hard from the first game. More expensive and worse then the first somehow.
