I love this game to death, but it has a level so unbelievably terrible I recommend just editing your save and skipping it. 1 - Get to "Chasing a Lie" 2 - Play a little bit and go back to the map 3 - Close the game 4 - Go to "C:\Users\[YOUR NAME]\AppData\LocalLow\primaerfunktion\ChildrenOfTheSun\[YOUR USER ID]" 5 - Create a backup of "cots.horny" and put it somewhere else 6 - Open the original "cots.horny" in notepad and copy all lines between these dashes ↓ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- }, { "levelname": "LV_CarChase", "score": 1 } ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7 - Paste this ↑ BELOW the "last level" and ABOVE the "next level" If you did it right, the last few bits should look something like this ↓ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "levelname": "LV_Marketplace", "score": 1 }, { "levelname": "LV_Motel", "score": 1 }, { "levelname": "LV_CarChase", "score": 1 } ], "nextLevel": "Map", "lastPlayedLevel": "LV_CarChase", "endlessTutorialSeen": false, "endlessUnlocked": false } ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cute lil puzzle game about taking revenge on the cult that exploited you and ruined your life. The vibes are neat.
Don't mind me, just here to support yet another dev that miHoYo ripped off in one of their minigames. <3
Edgy, rebellious, grappling with dark and mature themes, cool and pure fun. A quintessential indie game! This is the type of game bigger and more commercial companies would never make. What I like the most of Children of the Sun is the vibe. Dark and trippy visuals, ominous setting, a moody soundscape and raw graphic design. Combine that with a revenge story and sniper combat gameplay, it feels like punk rock but in a game format. The controls are innovative and intutive, all played with the mouse. Its fresh and resonsive. Another awesome aspect is that the various levels never overstay their welcome. You get in, figure out the path, pull the trigger and get out. It doesnt need to be anything more than that. Perfect as a pallette cleanser between sessions of bigger an meater games. Hence, Children of the Sun is a game I plan savoring and stringing out over as long time as possible. Its that good!
If you like puzzles and a raw, grungy aesthetic, this game is for you. If you like Suda51, it's also for you. For sum reason. It's raw and punk. That is the reason. It's also very cerebral and kinetic at the same time. I got the most of it playing with Dualsense with Gyro. What a game! I wrote an article and recommended it to my friends. About time I recommend it to you! Reinstalling it right now.
Lo amo, como todo lo que distribuye revolver digital
So this is a pretty neat puzzle shooter where you use weird physis to clear all of the enemies in a level in a "Single shot" This bullet has somewhat limited movement from the time it starts until the time it hits a target. The art style is cool and while there isn't a whole lot of story I like the way it's presented. Unless you're looking to do challenge runs though the game is only 5ish hours long so at full price I don't know if I would pick it up, but on sale it's an easy buy. Final Grade C+
The core idea is very interesting and really pulls you in at first. Also the very particle art style and sound design could be enticing to some. But as the game progresses the gameplay just slowly declines as new features are added that don't enrich the experience at all. Also there is some ideas that just seem so out of place given previously established concepts that I genuinely imagine they were added to pad the play time. Overall it's an interesting art piece and is worth a few dollars and hours just for that. But don't spend full price and don't expect this to be your next obsession.
evocative, right on the knifes edge of difficult and fun, very stylish, and maybe just the right length too
Children of the Sun is a fairly typical cult revenge story, but with a very engaging gameplay loop that gives enough freedom to tackle every scenario from different angles, and a certain degree of decision making and puzzle-like approach to shooting, keeping each level engaging and fun once you get into the loop. The biggest downside of this game is it being only a few hours in lenght and having a custom map creator outside of the recently added horde mode, because for the most part this is a very solid and polished take on the sniper shooter genre. But overall, I would gladyl reconmend this game and hope I can see more projects from this developer down the future.
