About
The truth is in the details.
In Forensics: Crime Scene Detective, you are the scientific authority that provides investigators with the facts. Your work begins when the sirens fade and silence settles over the crime scene.

With a cool head and a trained eye, you enter apartments, bars, and basements where something unimaginable has happened — or is said to have happened. Equipped with professional tools, you search for what others miss: a subtle fingerprint on a wine glass, a deleted message on a smartphone, a tiny blood spatter that casts doubt on a statement.

From Crime Scene to Laboratory:
Securing evidence is only the beginning. In the lab, the evidence tells its story. You compare DNA profiles, reconstruct bullet trajectories, decrypt digital devices, and piece together fragments into a clear overall picture. Your analyses incriminate perpetrators — or exonerate the innocent. Not every bloody crime scene is a murder. And not everything that seems obvious is the truth.

“Based on the experience and insights of experts from the State Criminal Police Office Rhineland-Palatinate (LKA RLP).”
With professional guidance from the State Criminal Police Office Rhineland-Palatinate, the game portrays forensic work as authentically as possible. Experience cases drawn from real life: sober, logical, and relentless in their evaluation of evidence. Find the traces. Analyze the facts. Reveal the truth.

Realistic Forensics:
Use authentic tools such as DNA swabs, fingerprint powder, ballistic trajectory rods, and digital forensic tools.
14 authentic Cases, Real Methods:
Missions are inspired by real scenarios and based on the experience and insights of real experts from the State Criminal Police Office Rhineland-Palatinate (LKA RLP).
Crime Scene Work & Laboratory Analysis:
The gameplay loop challenges you twice — first through meticulous crime scene investigation, then through logical data analysis in the lab.
Incriminate or Exonerate:
Your work determines the fate of suspects. Discover whether it was self-defense, murder, an accident, or a staged crime scene.
Your Instinct Matters:
You decide which traces are relevant. Overlooked evidence can leave a case unsolved.

It's a good game to relax. Search for evidence, put up some markers, take some photos. Everything is calm and then you get to analyze your evidence through various methods. I really like that you can revisit the crime scene in case you missed something. Runs great on the Steam Deck as well!
This game was quite fun! it has nice and (mostly) simple mechanics. if you want to play a cozy game to past the time, this is a good game to buy.
amazing game, loved every hour, just wished there was more content. some bugs especially with the fingerprint analysis but other than that very entertaining
This game is sponsored by german police. You can see posters that invite you to serve as a forensic specialist or a policeman. Why would I pay for such game? Also, does german police also use UV light in a fully lighted room?
Difference from the demo. The fingerprint matching is different. There is QoL on the forensic machines so its easier to use. And in order to progress you have to send your analysis via email. It does become a game of find the hidden object (mostly hidden fingerprints are the bane of my existence). Other than that the game is straightforward, some fingerprints patterns don't work like you expect them to like on the last case. However I played 11 hours of it I enjoyed it but this isn't a $20 + dollar game it feels like it should be 20 at most and nothing more unless he is going to offer more cases later. As they can introduce them almost like hitman with the special assassinations. So I recommend with a caveat.
Decent game, but just if you need help with the Tutorial does a guide someone made, just go on steam It helped me a lot because the Tutorial is pretty useless. The tutorial steps in the actual game, like the missions are pretty tricky. You actually have to use a guide unless you wanna be spending four hours trying to figure out this tutorial
I was a bit hesitant based on the reviews, but I really liked the premise. I'm really glad I bought the game. I have done the tutorials and maybe 6 other cases. It can get a bit repetitive, but in small (~ 2 hours) bites, it is a lot of fun to work through the evidence. I have been through a couple cases where at the end it says I missed some evidence like fingerprints. It would be nice if the game maybe gave a warning before closing the case that there is more evidence to find even if the case is solved. I also would like to see a super slow DNA alignment. The adjustments move way too fast even with Shift. I am hoping that there may eventually be cases that will need to remain open until related evidence is found on other cases. Some cases just can't be closed so neatly. Looking forward to the devs updates.
Really cool concept for a game and it has high potential, i wouldn't be too discouraged when potentially buying this game and seeing all the negative reviews, the game got of to a rocky start mainly due to a few small but highly game breaking bugs (for example hiding most of the cases) but these bugs have already been fixed and already 4 patches in it is clear that the developers are working hard to make sure the game gets as good as they intended it to be!
Enjoyable game and surprisingly authentic if you know what forensic investigators actually do You can definitely tell the developers worked closely with the German state police to ensure authenticity The only major issue I ran into was the progression bug, but the developers fixed it pretty quickly. They seem really committed to improving the game and I hope they keep it up
