Football Heroes Turbo

Here's my in progress review. I'm a fairly casual NFL fan, not being a native Yankee, but I am having fun with the season mode so far. This game harks back to the classic Tecmo Bowl, with punchy punchy and super moves mixed in with the gridiron. The play selection interface is giving me serious Madden NFL on Megadrive nostalgia. Building out and leveling your team reminds me of the Amiga classic Speedball 2 a bit. This is a fun action sports game that harks back to arcade and console sports action games that were so prevalent in the 80s and 90s, but have become less prevalent as the realism levels went up in games. As someone who is a pretty casual sports fan thats OK by me! I didn't have any technical issues with the game - runs fine on my rig, no crashes or noticeable bugs so far. Will update when I get some multiplayer time in.

Game is a blast. Reminds me of old tecmo bowl and blitz mixed. Really fun game. Love that you can customize your teams. Plus play others online 9 out of 10

i have played more football heroes on my iphone then probably any other player. i at one point held the record on football heroes pro 2017 for most points scored and i placed in the top 10 valued teams with no in app purchase. my point is i played ur game more than anyone so i say this with great sadness... this is not what it could be. no random packs? no leagues? how are u charging 15 for this. i have some ideas i think would help you if u got in contact 15 hours later having a good time grinding in this game but i am having major issues with large screen where my input does not work at all

Unfortunately I feel compelled to write this negative review. I have nothing bad to say about the game and that's really the problem. Having bought the game a few months ago, I tried to launch the game on both my PC and laptop without success. Strangely I noted that the time played magically jumped to 118 minutes, just short of the two hour limit for refunding. I contacted the developor and was delighted to get a prompt response asking for more details. Several others who experienced the same 'crash on launch' issue posted their experiences providing error messages and specs. Reassuring words that this was Direct X issue and that this would sorted in an upcoming update were music to my ears and therefore I allowed the two weeks to elaps before I realised no update was coming/and no refund possible. Perhaps foolishly I tried starting the game on both my PC and laptop, in the hope the game had been updated with me noticing. Still it crashes. By this point, I have apparently played 2 hours. All I can say is "I wish!" It looks like a potentially fun game. Note to the developers, if you suggest there will be a fix in a week's time, at least have the decency to update people to say that unfortunately it will not be happening. Happy to change this to a positive reviwe, if only I could just play the game.

Great arcade football fun! Very addictive!

--Early Access Review-- On the surface, Football Heroes Turbo perfectly captures the classic essence of Tecmo Bowl, helping to relive some of the glory days of early competitive American football video gaming. It's got solid online and local multiplayer to boot! Controller support is also solid. You'll notice after playing even a single game in Season Mode, the game has a lot more depth than you'd think! Characters can be customized, require training to get stronger, and have special abilities that add a layer of Mario Kart-like item fun to the mix. Gameplay is simple enough to learn but definitely takes time to master. Play calling has the depth of a game like Madden, while still providing the fun of arcade-style play. The game is still in Early Access, but it's already well worth the money. Buy Football Heroes Turbo and enjoy it now!

Absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Can't say too much about this title, yet. Why? 1. Because it's in Early Access. 2. I've only played it for a few hours. 3. This game is a diamond in the rough, friends and neighbors! Loving it thus far. Had my doubts about an "arcadey-type-football" game, but wow, this game is gonna' draw some attention. I'm a football purist at heart, and own about every Electronic Arts football title they have. But for only being in Early Access, this title is rocking and rolling thus far. However, it could be better, and I trust it will. Right now, a solid 8 out of 10... Pros: 1. It's football..! It "scratches that itch" for us football fans. 2. Easy to learn. Basically pick-up-and-play. Just read your button functions first. 3. Quick games (a little too quick, IMO). 4. Full Season Mode and PvP. 5. The price is right (but could've been cheaper, maybe $10). 6. It's actually FUN! Sort of like an RPG football game, where you can level ur players, or buy a free agent, bench a player, etc. And all that costs in-game money, too, so watch your funds! Cons: 1. Sounds effects are nearly non-existence. Bland and uninspiring for a football game. 2. The price could have been cheaper. lol 3. No penalties. I know it's 'arcade' football. But, c'mon, maybe 2-3 penalties in a game, i.e Holding, Pass Interference, Face Masking, etc. 4. Games much too short. I'm not looking for a 4 hr. game, but as it stands, each half is only 2:15 long. That a grand total of 4:30 per game! Ouch! 5. Key players being grossly interfered with due to 'punching' in the face. I like the idea of the punches, but not when it interferes with your receiver running out for a pass. Something needs adjusted out there. But as I said, I understand this title is still in EA, and that's Okay. Success takes time, and if the devs play it right, this title will be a sure fire winner. Ciao!

man i really wanted to like this game to bring me back to the tecmo bowl days mixed with a little bit of blitz... sorry to say i can not reccomend the game... first off the game runs poorly loads of fram drops and multiple crashes.. also your free to punch and hit who ever you want when ever you want pvp games will be a mess of people just punching out recievers so they will never have a chance at catching the ball that alone is enough for me to say no ty... refunded

It's a shame this game hasn't gotten more love. I'm not a fan of football for the most part, but I casually enjoy some Madden from time to time. I played Madden 19 for a little while, and though it was fine, I found myself wanting something different. Football Heroes Turbo comes out, and I promptly uninstalled Madden. This is a great game for someone who wants to develop a team over multiple seasons, without wasting an insane amount of time on it. Games are short and exciting, and it's a lot of fun customizing and training your team. If you like sports games at all (even casually), give this one a shot!
