Fly Caster - VR Fly Fishing

It's not the best fishing game though. The graphics are going for realism, but it doesn't quite hit the mark. The best thing about the game though is the fly fishing mechanic, which is pretty realistic. The game is in Early Access, so it does need more polish & more content. The tutorial is basically just a video. You have one location unlocked. You have to grind to unlock the only other location available. Unfortunately, you will probably struggle catching fish or at least I did. I caught 2 fish in my almost 2 hours of play (part of it spent on the tutorial). Game is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was able to get a consistent 90 fps, although I had to reduce render resolution (full resolution) to 80%. You do have nodal teleportation and smooth turning available. You can upgrade your fishing rod, bait, line, etc. There just isn't enough content though. However, the realistic fly fishing and realism overall, may appeal to those looking for a realistic fishing simulation for VR. This game reminds me of FlySim (fly fishing simulator) the best fly fishing game ever. It's sad that this game is bare bones and feels like a demo version (just like FlySim). But it's better than nothing. I would like to thank the developer for giving me nostalgia vibes.

Fly Caster is an Early Access paid VR Fly Fishing simulator. It worked on my Index and HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok, was understandable. Has a tutorial video, in the practice map, with English female voice overs. The users controls are not very good compared to real thing. Maybe buy, if you liked Fly Fishing for real or wanna learn about Fly Fishing using VR. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. Very interesting game. It certainly in, by far, the closest fly fishing simulator I have found. The casting is not quite there yet but it is very close. For instance when casting you need to be slow and deliberate with the rod movement and flicking of the rod does not really work. Also the landing of the fish needs a little more work as they are simply hauled into the air , rather than leading into the net. However that being said you can see the promise this game has in future . It certainly in, by far, the closest fly fishing simulator I have found. Well done to the developers.

Very good and fun game, unmatched physics when it comes to casting and not to far from real life, could use more fish species and little better fish fights but its still in early acces so who knows what they will add. If ur looking for a casual vr fishing game to play from time to time this game is a 10/10

fun game ive made it a top game for me cant wait to see whats in store for it if theres a future to it W game especially if your new to vr fishing games and you wanna dive deeper into not using standalone just trigger casting and waiting this takes more to do with it and you can be lazy with it like in most games W game

As an avid fly fisherman, sometimes I am unable to do it whether the weather is being tyrannical or work has me up to my neck. This is a nice little release to wait until the next time.
