Flock is an interactive music video with a score composed by Tim Fain and Julien Mier. Players swing Golden Orbs around on strings. The Orbs attract birds which eat the bugs that the surround you. As bugs are eaten the music and imagery transitions through a psychedelic rainbow of light and color.

+++ Get your drugs ready and enjoy this trip +++ Simple and fascinating at the same time. It feels like a decent trip on LSD - not that I actually would know how this feels. Coulourful design with relaxing yoga, trance music. Recommended in a bundle where I got it too.
8/10 DMT trips. Not exactly a game as much as a strange experience. I doubt I'll play it often personally but I think it will come in handy when demonstrating VR to friends. Plus just from a programming perspective, there is some good and interesting work being done here. Happy to drop $3 in the hat of the creator(s).
a 6/10 VR experience for $3. You stand on a platform with colorful 'insect' sprites that are dispatched by the birds following the orbs you're swinging on extendable elastic. As the the insect count goes up there are larger more detailed sprites and background colours change. The art style is different with a lot of flat looking 2D sprites. There's not enough happening here to keep me coming back but it's good to see devs trying something different .
Experienced on the Oculus Rift
You can view my gameplay & review here: https://youtu.be/xjIu0eM-ycI I'm surprised this doesn't have more reviews. This is an endless VR music video / relaxation app. You'll see & hear different colors, shapes, & sounds swirl all around you as you feed bugs to birds by guiding them with a rainbow (the golden orbs with a string). This experience still holds up in 2020 even though it's from late 2016. I believe the whole thing is looped for maybe every 5 minutes. There's a counter where you can see how many bugs you have fed. You can also extend the string or make it shorter to swing around. None of that matters though; your only goal should be relaxation. VR and chill. I do think that $2.99 USD may be a bit much for the simple experience that you'll probably only play for 10-20 minutes at the most. However, it is a unique experience. Also, it is something that you can showcase to friends or family that are new to VR. Rate 6/10. There are better VR music videos & relaxation apps, but this one is unique & super chill.
I love this game, it just needs an option to turn off the music and sound effects. Then it would be perfect. Not that the music is bad, I thought it was cool actually. I just want fresh tunes.
I haven't had a chance to try the original Flock experience, with a bunch of people in a room wearing feathers and GearVR's and eating bugs, this Vive version isn't exactly the same but it's really beautiful. I love all the bug animations. And the music. Might not be something you go back to often although good one to show first timers. Especially kids.
I really appreciate the unique method of interactivity in this experience. Spinning your orbs around and watching the birds pick off ever-changing, alien-like insects can be quite trance-inducing. I loved the insect designs and the various environmental effects that were used; some of the large bugs that come up later in the experience almost look like they were made of crystalline beads. Simple in functionality and eccentric in design, this game is definitely worth it.
A tiny, trippy, relaxing experience made possible by VR! You simply swing your batons around, and your flock of birds follows behind, nomming on bugs in their path. There doesn’t seem to be any progression, leader board, or reason to keep getting the bugs. Colorful, trippy, and intense visuals! Some of the background bugs (the big ones) are creepy – be on the lookout for those. An hour is about all you’ll find here, but I got this as part of a bundle, so I’m happy! Worth three bucks? Maybe: IF you’re into trippy sort of stuff. Thumbs: UP!
Alert the beautiful predators of the creepy crawlies by flowing your rainbow streamers around them. As one does. Or, sit back and watch the show. Simple, relaxing, nicely designed.
