Flock Around

This got me into birding in real life and made me appreciate how many birds there were around me, since i'm in an area where the birds in game overlap with the birds I can see in real life! It's a hobby which has really gotten me out of the house and I really have to thank this game for making it seem so fun. It is fun! The game feels really approachable and getting three stars on every single bird isn't too hard, and i like that! Getting the rare shiny birds also counts for the normal birds which is great. I don't want to compare, but it feels like a much better take on another game relating to fishing. The game lagged a lot when looking out at the main area from the top of the tower, PC specs included for that. i have a bad CPU, but a few updates happened to the game since i last played it so may have been fixed. Overall it didn't impact much and didn't get in the way.

10/10, bought both DLCs as of now, a fun game with nice accessories.

I love exploring the biomes and the birds are all so cute!

A simple and fun game that I have enjoyed playing with my family! None of us are serious birders but do enjoy them casually, so can't speak to the accuracy of the birds' appearances or calls. The points system can be sometimes a little frustrating or confusing but it's not a serious detriment to our enjoyment.

Love this game! I will say, it's a lot more fun to play with someone else for the shenanigans of birds on heads and poop. Also running to find the shiny with your friend so you both are covering ground. Sometimes it's hard to tell if a photo will be a 2 star or a 3 star of a bird and if you think you got a 3 star photo, it turns out to only be a 2 star. That said, it feels very rewarding to fill out the guidebook even when playing on your own and I am definitely going for all the achievements in this game!

In many ways I am not the target audience for Flock Around: I am not a birder, tend to prefer mechanically intricate games, and am straight-up bad at this game. And yet, I still had a lot of fun hanging out with my friends and attempting to photograph virtual birds! That should tell you something. At a base game price of $5 (USD) at the time of review, I'd say FA is worth every penny.
