This game isnt really bad...its just not good...i guess? Its a typical Wuxai-game, where you train yourself (after "creating" yourself - attributes, traits and so on), acsend different powerlayers while farming/grinding for ressources and Qi. it has some mini-games for different actions (mining and gathering, even acending). you will enter a sect and be able to manage your sect (build sect-building, ressource-management, wages, sect-war, territory-expansion and so on). Progressing in the mainstoryline will unlock additional planes (starting plane/map/world: mortal plane, then mixed plane, then immortal plane). First thing first, the obvious flaws: The translation - oh boy the translation. Its super bad, like really really bad. Storywise you get the meaning and whats going on, but in the menus and UI...so so terrible. Your attributes have like 3 different translations (i.e. Defense is somtimes called Defense, then Bonestructure and then again Bonepower) - its kinda hard to know sometimes what means what. The UI - it does it job i guess, but ones you try to get item descriptions, or descriptions on sect-building, the text sometimes just suddenly ends or becomes unreadable (because the allocated frame/window for the description is used up). Sometimes the description-window gets stuck on your screen, even though you arnt hovering over the item anymore and so on (can be fixed by hovering over another item). Those were the obvious, now for some good: you get the typical wuxai-game feeling. in this regard, this game absolutly does its job. you have a lot of freedom. Once you leave the starting building, you can explore the whole map and ascend multiple layers, before even finishing the first mainstoryquest. The fighting is totally fine. you have 6 weapons, and multiple elements. all weapons have different skills which you can mix and match (i.e. for the banner weapon you can play a summoner-playstlye, aoe-dmger or life-sacrifice-singletarget-dps), throw in the elemental spells you can get quite the build variation. You have 6 limited skillslots so you cant pick all of 'em - gotta decide ^^ The Ascension-Mechanic is clever and definitly no no-brainer (aka just click all the buttons). The Ascension-Mechanic is different for each layer/ascension - nice touch! The compendium shows you which monster/instance/dungeon drops which materials, so you know where you can get what you need...only problem is you only get the name of the level...you wont know where the level itself is. so if you're hunting for a specific material, you will often find yourself opening the map and reading each and every dungeon name one by one, until you find the one you're looking for. The Tutorial-/Mini-Game-Introduction is very very good. Textbased with animated pictures, but definitly miles better then other games of this genre. The animations in battle are fine, nothing special, but totally fine. There is auto-battle and Speed-Up (up to 3x speed). On the map are events and hidden sidequests. all in all its ok...not bad...but not really good either, sadly. Mainpoint breaking it for me was the bad translation and the UI.
有种把好钢用到了刀刃上的感觉,内容其实很丰富,但玩起来代入感差,重复多,有点累。。。
Floating Life2 is an expansive indie cultivation RPG that aims to simulate an entire life within a traditional Chinese fantasy world, blending open-ended role-playing, sandbox progression, and narrative-driven events into a single, ambitious experience. From the outset, the game establishes itself as a journey rather than a tightly scripted adventure, encouraging players to grow from an unremarkable individual into a powerful figure within a vast, living world. The setting draws heavily from xianxia and wuxia traditions, presenting a land filled with sects, spiritual beasts, ancient ruins, and cities shaped by politics and power struggles. Rather than pushing players along a rigid path, the game allows exploration, decision-making, and personal ambition to define how the story unfolds, giving the overall experience a sense of personal authorship. Gameplay revolves around long-term character development and gradual mastery of interconnected systems. Combat is turn-based and emphasizes preparation, skill combinations, and stat management rather than raw reflexes. Players can experiment with different techniques, cultivation paths, and equipment to find strategies that suit their preferred playstyle, whether that leans toward aggressive offense, survivability, or balanced growth. Outside of combat, the game offers numerous life-simulation mechanics, including crafting, alchemy, forging, trading, and social interaction. These systems feed into each other, making progress feel cumulative, as every action contributes to your standing, resources, or future opportunities. Advancing within a sect or forging alliances is not just a narrative choice but a mechanical one, affecting access to skills, missions, and long-term progression. One of the game’s defining features is its sheer volume of content. The world is packed with scripted events, random encounters, and side activities that can easily distract players from their original goals. NPCs are more than quest dispensers, often reacting differently based on your reputation, choices, or past actions. This creates a sense that the world remembers what you do, even if those consequences sometimes unfold slowly. The narrative is extensive and filled with philosophical undertones common to cultivation fiction, exploring themes of fate, perseverance, morality, and the cost of power. For players who enjoy reading and absorbing lore, the game offers a deep well of story content that rewards curiosity and patience. At the same time, the game’s ambition also exposes its rough edges. Systems can feel overwhelming at first, with limited onboarding and explanations that assume some familiarity with cultivation concepts. Progress can be slow, and repetition occasionally sets in as players grind resources or wait for certain events to trigger. The pacing leans toward long-term commitment rather than quick gratification, which will appeal strongly to some players while pushing others away. Interface design and visual clarity can also be inconsistent, sometimes making it harder than necessary to understand what options are available or which actions are optimal at a given moment. Presentation plays a mixed but generally positive role in the experience. The art style captures a distinct Chinese fantasy aesthetic, with environments and character designs that emphasize atmosphere over realism. While not always technically polished, the visuals contribute to the feeling of inhabiting a mythic world shaped by spiritual energy and ancient traditions. Sound design and music are understated, serving more as background ambience than emotional drivers, which fits the contemplative tone of cultivation but may feel subdued for players expecting dramatic flair. Overall, Floating Life2 is a game defined by scope and intent. It is not a streamlined or immediately accessible experience, but rather a dense sandbox RPG that rewards time, experimentation, and an interest in cultivation-themed worlds. Players willing to immerse themselves in its systems and embrace its slower pace will find a deep and flexible role-playing experience that offers freedom, personal storytelling, and a strong sense of progression. For those seeking a more polished or guided adventure, its rough edges may overshadow its strengths. Ultimately, Floating Life2 stands as a bold indie project that prioritizes depth and player agency, offering a unique journey for those prepared to meet it on its own terms. Rating: 5/10
looking for jade beauties, send them my way. 10000 spirit stones annual salary and no mind demons
If you’re expecting this to scratch that Tale of Immortal itch, it won’t. The roadmap is still incomplete, and it’s unclear whether the developers are actively working on the game, even though it’s been available since October 27, 2023.
奇怪,这游戏还不错,怎么一点热度都没有。要不是新年活动看到,都找不到。
