About
Sent to investigate an abandoned apartment, you are tasked with documenting strange occurrences using the A.D.D. (Anomaly Detection Device)—a specialized tool capable of detecting and repairing irregularities.
At first, the apartment seems perfectly normal, but as you explore, reality starts to shift. Objects move on their own, shadows flicker unpredictably, and unnatural occurrences manifest around you.
You are trapped in a loop in which you must identify all anomalies in the apartment to progress to the next one. Missing even a single anomaly will send you back to the previous floor.
Your mission is to address every anomaly you encounter and find a way out of Flat 9.
This is a psychological horror game that may contain jump scares and intense moments. Player discretion is advised.

It may not revolutionize the genre, but it manages to elevate a simple concept with fun anomalies that don’t mess with your intelligence. These games don’t bother with deep storytelling. You start off emerging from an elevator, greeted only by a note instructing you to search for anomalies. The game’s setting is deceptively simple—a compact apartment with a living room, kitchen, and office. The layout is linear, ensuring you don’t waste time aimlessly wandering. But don’t let the straightforward design fool you. Every room is packed with detail, especially the office, which boasts a cluttered shelf and desk. Your task is to find and fix all the anomalies before progressing to the next floor. Unlike other games where you’re looking for a single, isolated difference, this game requires you to find multiple irregularities to proceed. That’s where the game’s signature scanner comes in. Point it at something unusual, hold down the button, and if the object truly is an anomaly, it will snap back to its original state. But it’s not always that easy. Make a mistake, and one of the three cross signs on your scanner will light up. Strike out three times, and you’re thrown back to stage one. And just when you think you’ve cleared a room and reached the exit door, the game throws a cruel twist your way. If you’ve found all the anomalies, you’re rewarded with stairs leading upward to the next apartment. Miss one, and the stairs lead back down to a previous level. Interestingly, falling back down the floors isn’t as punishing as it sounds. Thanks to the variety of fun and eerie anomalies scattered throughout, you’re never truly bored. From a table flipped upside down to a train outside the window rattling the entire apartment, most changes are apparent enough to spot. But others, like a circular clock swapping places with a square one, require a keen eye. The anomalies don’t just alter objects; they also deliver a good scare. A picture frame might leap off the wall when scanned, or your reflection could transform into a malicious doppelganger smashing through the mirror to chase you down. Once you finally reach apartment 9, the game switches things up with a survival challenge where anomalies occur at a relentless pace, daring you to outlast the chaos. Beat this nerve-wracking gauntlet, and you unlock Collector Mode, a handy mode that lets you see missed anomalies.

A short and sweet anomaly game with a twist at the end, enjoyable but minimal replayability.
This is a nice experience that combines observation-based gameplay with occasional jump scares. The core mechanic of spotting differences between room iterations is engaging and keeps you on edge, making every playthrough tense and exciting. However, the limited number of differences can make the game feel a bit too easy after several runs, reducing its long-term replayability. I hope future updates will introduce more variations to keep the challenge fresh. Additionally, while the eerie atmosphere is well-crafted, the graphical effects can sometimes feel overwhelming. More customization options for visual settings would be a great improvement. Overall, Flat 9 is an entertaining horror game that, despite its simplicity, delivers a chilling experience. With a few tweaks and updates, it has the potential to become even better.
A fun and atmospheric spot-the-difference game This game is a nice take on the Exit 8 style, offering a solid spot-the-difference experience with a slightly eerie atmosphere. Some anomalies are really tricky to catch, but that adds to the tension and immersion. What I appreciated the most is how the game respects the player’s time—it doesn’t punish you too harshly, allowing for a more relaxed yet engaging experience. Definitely worth a try if you enjoy this genre!

Flat 9 isn’t revolutionary, but it knows exactly what it is: a creepy, low-budget horror loop that’s perfect for one sitting. It excels at keeping you second-guessing yourself and punishing complacency. It won’t scratch every horror itch, but for fans of micro-horror games or those who enjoyed I'm on Observation Duty, this is a cheap and satisfying trip into madness.
I just finished Flat 9 and it genuinely stands out thanks to a few really smart gameplay mechanics. The biggest one — and my favorite — is how mistakes are handled. If you fail to find all the anomalies on a floor, you don’t get instantly reset back to Floor 1. Instead, you’re pushed back one floor at a time. In theory, if you keep missing things, you can end up back at the beginning — and I actually did. At one point I dropped from Floor 8 all the way back to Floor 4 just from accumulated mistakes. It adds real tension without feeling punishing. That said, if you die, it does reset you back to Floor 1. When you reach Floor 9, the game switches things up again. You’re placed back in the room for a 110-second timed event, where anomalies begin appearing over time. You need to survive the full duration while identifying them as they show up. If you fail, the room resets and you try again until you make it through the entire countdown. It’s a great final test that feels earned rather than gimmicky. After completing the game, there’s also a Collector Mode, which I really appreciated. There’s a set number of anomalies to find, and if you’ve missed any, the door tells you how many remain. In this mode, there’s exactly one anomaly per floor, and you progress until you’ve collected them all. For completionists, this is a fantastic feature — no need to replay the entire game blindly just to clean up missed content. Overall, I had a great time with this one. The anomalies range from very obvious to the kind that make you stop and second-guess yourself. It’s not the hardest anomaly-finder out there, but it’s far from simplistic, and its mechanics help it stand apart from similar games. I’d definitely recommend it.
Definitely a thumbs up! This game is a great game to stream. It is challenging, but not overly difficult. Not too long but not too short. There is a great additional mode that allows you to find anomalies that you have missed during your first playthrough. And best of all, this game is CREEPY! I had goosebumps the whole time. If you can get it on sale, this game is a hidden gem. Rating: 8.5/10
