[h1][b]「30年ぶりの美しい記憶（フラッシュバック）―だが、目覚めた先はバグと不完全なシステムに支配されたディストピアだった」[/b][/h1] [h1]ストーリー[/h1] 22世紀。前作で変身エイリアン「モーフ」の陰謀を打ち砕いたGBI（銀河連邦捜査局）のエージェント、コンラッド・B・ハート。 しかし、彼らの暗躍はまだ終わっていなかった。 親友イアンの失踪を機に、コンラッドはAI搭載の相棒兵器「A.I.S.H.A.」と共に、ニュー・ワシントンのネオン街からミュータントの潜むジャングルまで、再び過酷な戦いへと身を投じていく。 [h1]概要[/h1] 1992年に発売され、その滑らかなロトスコープ・アニメーションと映画的な演出で世界中を熱狂させた伝説のシネマティック・プラットフォーマー『Flashback』。 本作は、オリジナルクリエイターであるポール・キュイセ氏自身が手掛けた、正統なる「30年ぶりの続編」である。 横スクロールアクションをベースにしつつも、本作では手前や奥へ移動できる「奥行きのある2.5Dマップ」とツインスティック・シューターの要素を採用している。 [h1]感想[/h1] [b]伝説の帰還に寄り添いたい。しかし、この「未完成」な現実からは目を背けられない。[/b] あのコンラッドが帰ってきた。オリジナルクリエイターの手によって正統続編が作られた。その事実だけで胸を躍らせたオールドファンは多かったはずだ。サイバーパンクな世界観や、ネオンが輝く街並みの雰囲気自体は決して悪くなく、「かつての傑作を現代に蘇らせよう」という開発陣の情熱には、いちゲーマーとして寄り添いたい気持ちはある。 しかし、全世界の不評レビューが示す通り、ゲームとしての出来は「粗削り」を通り越して「未完成」と言わざるを得ない。 最大の苦言は、中途半端に導入された「奥行き（2.5D）」だ。これにより、敵に銃の照準を合わせるのが信じられないほど難しくなり、前作の緻密で計算されたアクションの魅力が完全に死んでしまっている。さらに、理不尽な進行不能バグ、もっさりとしたモーション、不親切なUIが、プレイヤーのストレスを限界まで引き上げていく。 かつての輝かしい「フラッシュバック（記憶）」を胸に抱いたまま定価でプレイすると、あまりの落差に悲しくなってしまうだろう。 ただ幸いなことに、本作は度重なるセールにより、現在は[b]「ワンコイン程度（500円前後）」[/b]という投げ売り価格で買えることが多い。 この価格であれば話は別だ。歴史的傑作の「その後」を怖いもの見たさで覗いてみるチケット代、あるいはB級SF映画をツッコミながら楽しむ代金としてなら、十分に許容できる（諦めがつく）はずだ。 [h1]評価[/h1] 【GOOD】 ・『Flashback』という伝説のタイトルの正統続編が存在し、コンラッドの新たな冒険を見届けられるという事実そのもの。 ・サイバーパンク感あふれるニュー・ワシントンの背景アートや、レトロフューチャーな雰囲気の作り込みは良好。 ・[b]セール時の価格。[/b] ワンコイン程度であれば、文句を言いながらも割り切って遊べるコストパフォーマンスの良さ。 【BAD】 ・[b]致命的なまでの操作性の悪さ。[/b] 2.5Dの奥行きがツインスティックシューターとしての照準合わせを極めて困難にしており、戦闘が全く楽しくない。 ・頻発するバグとグリッチ。進行不能になるケースもあり、こまめなセーブが必須というシステム以前の問題を抱えている。 ・前作の最大の特徴であった「滑らかでリアルなアニメーション」の魅力が失われており、全体的に安っぽいアクションゲームに成り下がってしまった。

TL;DR: This game doesn't know how to handle itself. It starts like a 2D platformer with gorgeous 3D graphics and then introduces another axis. This is so unnecessary and makes gameplay awkward and tedious. NOTE: Played on Linux Mint 22.3 with RTX 3070. Game seems to load a lot in the background when player starts a session so initially, player have these weird stutters as game loads something from SSD. Other than that, works flawlessly. I have played original Flashback on my Amiga and I loved it. This one, I lost interest at the very start due to this awkward movement. I wouldn't mind if we had occasional boss fights with bird view 3D but the rest of it to be classic 2D platformer movement. I am baffled how someone thought that this is OK? I am not in the mood to deal with this tedious positioning while pretending I am doing 2Dplatformer which is not that. I do not recommend it.

not really worth the money

At start game was running fine after that , it wont launch at all giving errors of AMD timeout pop up messages, however all games are running are fine except for this one. I hope dev reponds to it , i did all integrity files check up nothing to avail now.

Très très très difficile de savoir quoi penser de ce Flashback 2. D'un côté le gameplay est d'une nullité abyssale, les bugs s'empilent et les illustrations en IA sont une véritable honte. De l'autre... Il fait à peu près ce qu'on aurait pu attendre d'une suite à Flashback (et qui aurait dû être le remake de 2013 d'ailleurs) : étoffer les environnements vus dans le premier jeu, donner un peu plus de chair à l'histoire et à son univers, et rendre le tout plus immersif. Alors quasiment rien n'est vraiment "bien", les personnages sont très limités et l'histoire à plusieurs facettes ne va pas particulièrement dans une direction intéressante, si ce n'est une idée scénaristique à la fin qui est extrêmement inattendue et presque hilarante tellement c'est imprévisible. Mais en même temps après l'atroce remake de 2013 je dois dire qu'il fait beaucoup de ce que j'espérais du remake, ce qui est déjà plus que ce que j'en attendais au vu des retours catastrophiques. C'est un jeu absurde qui paraît irréel et "faux", mais je dois lui concéder un certain étonnant charme.

What a bs game, bugged, not playable mess. Fps drops from 200 to 10. Bugged gameplay. I'd be ashamed being a creator of this.

Flashback 2 ist für mich eine Mischung aus Cyberpunk 2077, Blade Runner und dem Remake von Flashback. Die Mischung macht viel Spaß, wäre nur die Steuerung nicht so träge und das Spiel bugfrei. Versteht mich richtig, alles ist voll spielbar und auf dem Steam Deck mit 720P recht flüssig (bei 1080P läuft der Lüfter voll auf und es ruckelt leicht). Wer das Remake mochte, mag auch Teil 2, wer das Original mochte, wird vermutlich unzufrieden sein.

The performance and optimization seems lacking. Looks cool but I can't get a stable frame rate.
