god i love this game so much jesus CHRIST
i just love this game the jokes, and the way it works i just love it.
Flappatron is an Action shooter/Visual novel hybrid created by Dexter Manning AKA "The Smashbits Guy" and his studio Manning Media.

BASIC PLOT SYNOPSIS
You play as Nathan Flappatron who is a broke comic artist living in a city called "Goonland" which is under Monarchy ruled by a King known as King Bish. Nathan must stop the evil mysterious cult God of Goonery before they bring chaos & destruction to Goonland. Unfortunately for him though Goonland has strict laws including Physical Violence, which lead to the death penalty. So Nathan Flappatron must use his inner rational mind to beat the crap out of anyone who stands in his way!
GAMEPLAY / MECHANICS
Nothing bad but nothing too crazy, It's alright. You have a laser beam that shoots big blast at the Bosses and 3 lanes where you have to attack and dodge given each level has it's own obstacles(except for the final chapter) & Bosses.
STORY & DIALOGUE
Story & Dialogue is great because Dexter Manning is after all "The Smashbits Guy" Overall the world and character building is really flesh out, believable, and funny. which is great since this game is really heavy in dialogue.
Complants & ISSUES
If I were to be critical of this game it will be the game being unstable and crashing when playing long periods of play time and no proper Borderless Windows support. And also WHY ARE THE LATER CHAPTERS PAID DLC??? I would get it if this game was completed and these were fun little optional expansions that expand more of story and world in some ways, but they like mandatory for completing the game and seeing the credits. Like I get it if development for other levels weren't complete and put those as expansions but this game is indie so they shouldn't be rushing it at all, it should have been all as main game even if it had to cost more.
IS IT RECOMMANDED?
If your into Dexter's humorous works than YES but if you haven't seen Dexter's work before and are a picky on humour{Someone that hates South Park} I would advise you to check out his channel and or his other work in Smashbits on YouTube. Anyways, THENK YU
buen juego, nomas que se crashea al final de los bosses apartir del capitulo 10, almenos me lo cuenta como pasado y no se siente esfuerzo en vano pero si esta medio pasado porque me omito la historia por ese detalle
Flappatron is a quirky independent title that blends visual novel storytelling with arcade-style action in a way that feels both unconventional and surprisingly engaging. Developed by Dexter Manning and published by Manning Media, the game embraces its strange identity from the very beginning, inviting players into a bizarre world filled with eccentric characters, surreal humor, and fast-paced challenges. Rather than relying on familiar genre conventions, it attempts to create something unique by combining narrative-driven progression with reflex-based gameplay, resulting in an experience that stands out from many other indie releases. The story follows Nathan Flappatron as he navigates the unusual land of Goonland and confronts a variety of challenges that are as much psychological as they are physical. One of the more creative aspects of the narrative is the idea that Nathan battles negative thoughts and inner doubts rather than traditional enemies. This concept gives the game a distinct personality and allows the writing to explore themes of self-confidence and perseverance through an absurd comedic lens. The cast of characters is intentionally odd, and their interactions help create a world that feels unpredictable and entertaining. Fully voiced dialogue further strengthens the presentation, giving the characters energy and making conversations more memorable than simple text exchanges. When the story pauses, the game shifts into arcade combat sequences that demand quick reactions and concentration. Players must defend Nathan’s mind by attacking, blocking, and eliminating incoming threats represented by hostile bubbles and other hazards. The controls are easy to understand, but the increasing difficulty ensures that success requires practice and skill. This creates a satisfying progression curve where players gradually improve their reflexes while advancing through the narrative. The gameplay may appear simple on the surface, yet it manages to remain engaging thanks to its escalating challenge and emphasis on timing. One of the game's greatest strengths is how it alternates between its two major components. The visual novel sections provide context, humor, and character development, while the arcade stages inject excitement and tension. This balance helps maintain momentum throughout the experience, preventing either side from becoming repetitive. Players are continually rewarded with new story developments after completing gameplay segments, creating a loop that encourages continued progression. The episodic structure also contributes to the game's appeal. The story unfolds across multiple chapters, allowing the narrative to develop over time while introducing new situations and characters. In addition to the campaign, the inclusion of a survival mode gives players an opportunity to focus purely on gameplay and challenge themselves outside the story. This extra mode adds replay value and provides a different way to engage with the game's mechanics, especially for those who enjoy chasing high scores and improving their performance. Visually, Flappatron adopts a colorful cartoon style that complements its humorous tone. The artwork is not focused on realism but instead emphasizes personality and charm. Character designs are expressive, environments are vibrant, and the overall presentation reinforces the game's offbeat atmosphere. The voice acting deserves special recognition because it brings additional life to the cast and helps sell both the comedic and dramatic moments. Combined with lip-synced dialogue, it creates a more polished presentation than many players might expect from a smaller independent project. The humor is likely to be the most polarizing aspect of the experience. The game frequently embraces absurdity, randomness, and self-aware comedy, which will appeal strongly to players who enjoy unconventional storytelling. Those looking for a serious or grounded narrative may find some of the jokes overly eccentric. However, the game's commitment to its identity is admirable, and the writing generally succeeds in creating a memorable atmosphere that remains consistent throughout the adventure. Flappatron is ultimately a game that thrives on originality. It may not have the production values of a major studio release, but it compensates with creativity, personality, and a willingness to take risks. By combining visual novel storytelling, voice-acted characters, arcade action, and a bizarre yet entertaining world, it delivers an experience that feels genuinely different from most games in its genre. Players who appreciate unusual indie titles and enjoy both narrative and skill-based gameplay are likely to find a great deal to enjoy here. Rating: 8/10
Awesome Would play and Can't wait for more!!!
A pretty unique game with an interesting story following the trail of a kidnapped ex-girlfriend and find out who's behind it all. The sequences as you progress in the game get more challenging and require using your brain more to see all of the attacks at once. The jokes are funny and pokes fun at some ridiculous things from shouting protestors to reality TV. The details on the backgrounds are fun to look at to see how many jokes and puns are put into them, I like catching some dirty jokes hidden in plain sight as if it's a normal thing to the people in Goonsville. XD There are some errors with numerous lacks of full stops at the end of the sentences during the dialogue portion of the game and it would be cool to have an automatic text so you can sit back and watch the cutscenes rather than hope you don't interrupt the voice-over by mistake.
