About
As you work through a level, your past moves are stored in a move history. When you move in the pattern “direction, direction, opposite direction, direction” (for example up, up, down, up) you perform a happy jump which flings you three places instead of one. Things start to heat up when different blocks get introduced that serve as both obstacles and advantages. Walls are the simplest block. You can’t walk through them and have to happy jump over them. Pause blocks are tricky buggers. You can walk inside of them, but the move you make into them is not counted in your move history. The move you make out of the block is counted! Break blocks are the opposite. You can’t walk inside a break block, but running into it will add to the move history even though your player stays in exactly the same spot. Move blocks can be pushed around to clear a path or used in tandem with break blocks to make some crazy moves possible.
There are currently 39 levels! I hope you have as much fun playing them as I have had making them.

Even in demo stage, which I had the privilege to play-test, ODev's highly anticipated release "Fitting-In" proves itself as a refreshing and ever-joyous puzzle game. Delighting in the minutiae of game design, "Fitting-In" provides a touching metaphor for social interaction as the protagonist, at first cautious and childlike, learns new patterns and becomes familiar with new situations. Simple, boxy levels give way to serpentine labyrinths - but the player has learned how to cope with novel problems, solving every puzzle with different plays on the same rhythm-based jumping mechanic. Despite the simplicity of the basic rules, ODev continues to deliver in every level, introducing additional environmental mechanics just as we begin to understand the world we inhabit. However, the overarching emotional theme of the game is one of satisfaction and serenity - no matter how chaotic the playing field seems at times, the player always finds where they fit.

Going around playing random games a random game generator gives me. Played this for less than an hour but surprisingly enjoyed it. I honestly thing that the game mechanics are very creative. Actually the whole concept is quite cool. Not sure if it already exists somewhere but it was fun. Unfortunately the UI and the whole visual design of the game, in unison with the repeating background music, makes your head hurt after 30 mins tops. The slow animations make the progression a bit slower than i'd like, making you feel more stuck than you really are. If the visual aspect of the game was easier to look at, i could see myself being drawn even deeper into it than i already was because it is surprisingly satisfying when you finish a level. 6/10 if you squint its fun
great game, only wish there were more bigger levels so i could receive maximum brain hurt

"Fitting-In" is a very unusual puzzle game that at face value might look a bit like your average run of the mill Sokoban ripoff, but there's slightly more to it. This puzzle game requires a lot of thinking and creativity, as finishing the levels is far from straightforward. You need to perform very specific movement combos, which result in you "jumping" to a different position in the map. At the start, that's just jumping over walls, but later on you'll hit special squares that help or hinder you. Where this is let down is that, well, it's basically a glorified Flash/browser game that's been launched here on Steam alongside Black Myth Wukong and Marvel Rivals. As always, if it can be done in a web browser, it's not really a full fledged PC game. This might have done a lot better on the mobile app stores or as a broweser game, yet here it is on Steam. There's quite a bit of content, 39 levels, but more of a mediocre thing doesn't make it less mediocre. The graphics here are particularly awful, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $2 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? Pass on this one. There's no immediate financial commitment, but there are thousands of more compelling games on the platform that will give you a lot more enjoyment for your time.
