Finch & Archie

Short but fun. Communication system made us laugh. Neither of us felt like we were waiting around for our 'turn' or anything like some co-ops. No hand holding, but not so hard to be frustrating. Looking forward to future cases.

Excellent game

I was pleasantly surprised that the gameplay of Finch and Archie was not like all the other typical co-op games out there. There is a very different gameplay experience depending on if you are the detective or the dog and it was still enjoyable replaying the same chapter with the other character. There is a heavy focus on gathering information that is provided through talking to the various characters in the game, all of which have a unique and engaging dialogue that enriches the experience. The game has a good balance of information given that made it not too hard but also not easy, and actually made me feel like a detective putting things together. The devs are on top of bug fixes and respond well to feedback. Excited for additional chapters to be released!

I had a lot of fun playing this game! It was challenging because it tested my english comprehension and 1 syllable word vocab, my friendship, and my ability to retain information (very poor). I really loved how you had to tell each other your perspectives of the story to form a full picture and solve the case at the end. I thought the solving folder was a very smart way of forcing us to cooperate (although the UI could be better). Very cool game if you play it properly (i.e. using the in game communication), love the episodic idea as it creates a lot of value for this game (potentially unlimited gameplay?!). Had quite a few bugs which the devs have responded quite quickly to. Looking forward to the updates and new episodes :) Would highly recommend to test friendships/relationships and to improve your english!

For a person who isnt into detective games all that much, Finch & Archie kept me hooked with its unique take on coop mystery games. I eagerly look forward to whats to come and cant wait to be impressed again.

Played with a friend over discord but we kept all the clues and evidence discussion over chat and it was fun trying to convey it with limited ways. The story was compelling and engaging all the same. Had a few bugs but wasn’t game breaking. Can’t wait for future updates!

So the concept of this game is pretty cool, but I do feel like the tutorial is not sufficient. It does not give enough information to understand what you will need to do with the case files at the end of the actual case. The blanks where you need to fill in the text and photos seems to be too confusing (especially not knowing you would need to do this and having to use the weird one-word clues from your partner). I feel like if the tutorial had a shorter case with a case file, it would be useful. Also, I think it should be more clear that you should try all the clues on multiple people, even if you gained some information already about it. Unclear why I cannot use some words that are one syllable (eg. 'it'), maybe that is on purpose. To be honest I loved the single syllable aspect with one exception - [spoiler] the location clue for the phone.
