Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 4.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

LOVED this game! I've never played FF 1-5 so this was my first play through of this game and it was exactly what I was hoping for. For context, FF6 is my favorite of the series and probably top 10 games of all times. I replayed through the PR version before this game and went right into this. Seeing where the series started was a great experience. If you don't like the old NES style JRPGs, this isn't going to be for you, but if you do like going back to the older titles like this, I highly recommend this game. Hope everyone who plays it loves it as much as I did.
I can definitely see why so many people fell in love with the Final Fantasy franchise after playing the Pixel Remaster of the first game. The music is amazing and really sets the mood, and the world itself feels great to explore. I love how simple it is to play it doesn’t overwhelm you, but still keeps things engaging. Being able to choose different characters for your party is a really cool feature too, since it adds variety and lets you experiment with different setups. That said, the game does show its age in certain aspects, which is expected from something originally released decades ago. But honestly, that’s part of the charm for me. I’ve always had a soft spot for the classics, and this one reminded me why. Overall, I loved playing it, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience where the series began.
Excelente clássico
Pros: * Small numbers * Skills that deal damage to everyone at once / apply status effects to everyone at once, and these skills unlock quickly * Poison and other status effects are shown while walking around the overworld, really nice * You're given nothing at the start, but get a lot of money to gear up and buy items * Because of the game's age, and the fact that not much content fits into it, the pacing stays really high throughout * Music * Graphics * Interface * Settings (in the remaster) * Super simple controls but no tutorial * Simple story * There are skills to escape dungeons Cons: * No quest log — I personally forgot where to go sometimes * Excessive backtracking that you can only start skipping around the midpoint of the game * The Black Mage has a lot of banishment skills, and as usual they only work on very weak enemies, and even then not always Debatable: * Sparse descriptions - for example, classes aren't described in full detail, and there's nothing about it on the wiki either Feelings: I expected way less from this game, but in reality it puts a lot of modern titles to shame. Really enjoyed it, great pacing, nothing unnecessary - no grinding or other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ distracting you into a void! Recommend it!
Historia jak w Super Mario Bros, ale warto sprawdzić jak zaczynała seria. Klasyka dla koneserów.
Um belo começo para a franquia, vale a pena
People complain that this port looks old and that there are better versions on the PSP or elsewhere, but I think you can't separate the art from the artist. If I could pick a retro game to be rebuilt, I would want it done as originally intended by the creator. This is absolute retro—here, you are in control of the whole game system. It doesn't try to hide its age with modern polish, and that’s precisely its strength. It serves as a direct time capsule to where the RPG genre began, offering a pure, unadulterated experience that respects the source material.
