I'm only 5 hours into this and I love it. The story is engaging and the characters make you feel attached.
Like others have said, it's a boring movie, tedious to get to breaks with gameplay. In my opinion, not a FF experience, very disappointed. Side quests suck. This makes the last 2 single player games a let down. Oh how I long for yesterday, suddenly, FF games are half the games they used to be.......sigh.
This is probably my favorite game of all time, there's nothing else to say. The ending was AWESOME
