About
A plethora of powerful swordplay techniques and Eikonic abilities lie within Clive's remit—and it is up to you to decide which ones you wish to learn or upgrade. If you're having trouble choosing, upgrades can be unlocked automatically.
Story-focused mode is recommended for those players who are less comfortable with action games and wish to focus more on the game's story elements. In this mode, Clive will automatically evade some attacks, and epic Eikonic combos can be triggered with simple button presses. Action-focused mode, where Clive's every action is controlled by the player, is available for those who are confident in their skill—or want to test it.

I'm struggling with this phone app styled game that is just void of anything but some generic combat mechanics. There really isnt even an environment... just corridors with enemies in the path. Even the fetch side quests like, "bring this guy food" are almost more fun... Just make this into a movie if youre going take away everything that makes it a FF game.

The good: • Bosses are top notch. • Presentation is great. • Same can be said for the soundtrack. Mid: • Story is serviceable but no one besides the main character gets any character development. • Combat is great, but it takes a long time before the game even gives you the room to experiment with it. • Side quests, just skip any side quest that don’t have a plus icon above the quest giver. Since the other quests are both dull, and don’t give you anything worthwhile. • Pacing, one moment you’re killing a boss in space, and the next you’re doing a fetch quest and this happens too often. Ugly: • Too many cutscenes and moments where you’re unable to control your character. The combined total of all those moments is a bit more than 24 hours, and the first 5 hours of your playtime is more cutscene then actual gameplay. • While I can enjoy a cutscene, and they can get pretty epic, putting a 30-fps cap on them on pc is absolutely unforgivable. Luckily there’s a mod for that, but seriously? • The default difficulty of the main game is way too easy, and there’s no way to increase the difficulty until new game plus. Worth mentioning: this game can only vaguely be described as an RPG. If you are in the market for that then skip this game. If you are however looking for an action game then I would say that there’s quite a bit of fun to be had, especially with the boss fights but it will require some patience from your side and a willingness to skip a few cutscenes here and there.

Game is a blast. If you are looking for a decent rpg or just something to button mash and enjoy this is it. Scratches the itch of number go up and expansive storyline. 21 hours in and only halfway through the main story, loads of sidequests and character development (worthwhile!)
One of the best games i've ever played. very polished, runs well and looks beautiful. i'd give it a 10/10, i loved the gameplay and open world aspect, and the story was very heartfelt. i could see why someone would rate it lower because of the side quests and certain aspects of the combat, but i don't mind the fact that the side quests tend to be repetitive. the stories and immersion made up for it, so if you don't mind a bit of grinding in exchange for (mostly) lore/immersion and items/equipment then it's nothing to worry about.
A decent game. It probably won't be anyone's favorite Final Fantasy, but I think most fans of the series will get something out of it. I thought the world was interesting and the characters and story were mostly good (except the main villain, very bland). The Eikon boss battles in particular were very cool. It does have a lot of lame sidequests, though. I did them all because I can't help myself lol. Also both DLC are worth getting, they add some cool stuff. Normally I wouldn't feel like writing a review for an extremely popular and just decent game, but there was a "Final Fantasy" title drop in the final battle that made me laugh out loud, so I felt like I had to write one. This really is our final fantasy.
