Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5.67/day in the week to Aug 4 → 6/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

If you love Sci-Fi with the addition of magic and themes of overcoming fate, corruption, and intrigue - that's the best Final Fantasy to start with. It's very linear but hooks you really fast. When you start the game, the story feels unclear. The world surrounding you keeps you wondering: "Where am I?", "What's this about?", "Who are the protagonists?" and I feel that's a common thing in every Final Fantasy game. Those questions make you want to play more and more - and that's a big strength of FFXIII thanks to its linear gameplay. I also do not agree with people saying that the characters are shallow and don't develop during the events of the game. By the end, you can clearly see how much they grow and how their perspectives have changed. The combat system sometimes feels like a rhythm game. For a certain amount of time you attack, then quickly heal, apply buffs and debuffs, and repeat. Party members and their classes also matter and, at times, you need to prepare for a fight by changing equipment, battle roles, and accessories. When it works, it works wonders, and you feel a really strong sense of satisfaction. Not to mention how incredible the game looks at times, especially for a game from the PS3 era. There are also many flaws, especially the grind that is sometimes required to progress, particularly during the final stage of the game. Fights with Eidolons can be frustrating at first, but later on you get the hang of them and don't need a couple of tries anymore. Overall, that's a really good experience with some issues, but if you like the setting, think some characters look cool, or just want to start with a Sci-Fi Final Fantasy, that's the best option right here. 7,5/10
actually a banger
great story
Ignore the negativity thrown towards this game. Does it feel a bit like a hallway simulator at times? Sure, but its the combat system you have to *Focus* on..
After completing the game and earning 100% of its achievements, I genuinely believe that Final Fantasy XIII is one of the most misunderstood entries in the franchise. Yes, the first half of the game is very linear, and the story can feel confusing at first due to the amount of lore and terminology introduced early on. However, if you're willing to give it a chance, you'll find a surprisingly emotional story supported by strong character development, beautiful visuals, and an unforgettable soundtrack. What truly shines, though, is the combat system. Once all mechanics become available, the Paradigm Shift system turns battles into fast-paced strategic encounters that remain engaging from start to finish. Even after dozens of hours, combat rarely felt repetitive. I won't pretend the journey was always enjoyable. Going for 100% achievements tested my patience more than most RPGs I've played. Farming rare drops, upgrading every weapon, completing every mission, and facing some of the toughest endgame encounters pushed me to the point of wanting to quit more than once. Yet somehow, after all that frustration, I ended up appreciating the game even more. The endgame content offers some genuinely rewarding challenges, and finally overcoming them felt incredibly satisfying. Few games have made me complain this much while simultaneously making me want to keep playing. Is it a perfect game? No. The linear structure will not appeal to everyone, and completionists should prepare for a long grind. But if you're looking for a JRPG with a unique combat system, memorable music, beautiful presentation, and challenging endgame content, Final Fantasy XIII deserves far more credit than it usually gets. For me, it remains one of the most underrated games in the Final Fantasy series. 100% achievements completed. It was exhausting, frustrating, and absolutely worth it.
I'm horrible at the game but Fang carried me both my party and my sanity
