Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Yeah no. This is basically a hallway simulator. You do like 2 minutes running through a NARROW corridor (it's ridiculous, just search for ffxiii map on google and see what im talking about), fight some random that look all the same enemies, cutscene rinse and repeat. And this is after 10 hours. I read that when the game "opens up" at later stages, it pretty much becomes more of the same, just in a completely empty bigger area with some strong enemies to fight. That's it. I can see why this is one of the most hated FF in the franchise, and it's TOTALLY warranted. Another thing pissing me off is the constant cutscenes. You can't get to play more than 5 minutes of this game without having to watch a cutscene. I can't find a single party member likeable. They're all your over the top stereotypes with the depth of a puddle. Oh the english VA is just straight terrible (have no clue about the JP one). Story is really simple yet very convoluted by all the lore dump you receive in the first hour of the game without getting an actual explanation/build up of what cocoon and pulse are, what l'cie fal'cie and c'ieth are and why they're there (aside some brief explanation that gives you the most basic info on em), how the sanctum came to be is etcetc. If i didn't buy this on heavy discount (bought both xiii and lightning return for less than 8 eu) i would've asked a refund and not force my way through for almost 10 hours of this bs. All in all this feels more like an interactive movie with combat in between than a videogame really, and if you really want to play do not. Just go on youtube and search for the full cutscene movie or something (mind you, it might be very long as, as i already stated, there's literally a cutscene every 5 minutes... if not even less than that). Certainly not a final fantasy game. This feels more like what a real final fantasy movie would have been rather than that bs we got years ago lol.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5.67/day in the week to Aug 4 → 6/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

got a black screen after loading the game will update if i can fix it
Loved the game, At first i disliked how linear the game is, and the combat system in the first hours is quite boring, but the more i played, more i liked it, the combat is where you get most autonomy, you create tatics and plan the synergies instead of choosing each atack like on older titles, battles feel more like a puzzle in a way that i very mych like. The story flips between being silly childlike and being a deep exploration in themes of freedom and destiny, the characters start very one dimensional, but they grow so much on you. The gameplay has its strong and weak points, you get no npc interaction, no traditional stores, all quests are very similar, monsters and scenarios get reused the whole game, some chapters are indeed a drag, but the overall experience is very good. My overall experience is that is a great game that takes time to cook.
Staring at a wall is more fun than playing this game, just watch the story on youtube.
bad port, crashes alot, but if you find the right fixes this ♥♥♥♥ is pretty banger. yeah its a little bit too linear with a lot less side content than other ff games BUT this game still pretty bangs. you just gotta play it yourself. dont let others stop you from touching this game yo... i like it alot hehehehe
Final Fantasy XIII
This Final Fantasy holds a special place in my heart because it introduced me to the franchise when I was a kid watching my dad play. Today I finally finished the game (I sucked as a kid) after around 50 hours of active play. Yes the game is as linear as people say it is until chapter 11 but the characters, story and battle system is what holds the weight of this underrated gem.
Story and World
The Story isn't the best I have ever experienced and honestly can be confusing at times but as long as you are paying attention it is easy enough to follow. The world however is very interesting. The game takes place between two Sci-Fi Fantasy worlds, Cocoon, the upper world and Pulse, the lower world. Cocoon is home to humanity and is considered a paradise while Pulse is considered 'Hell on Earth'. Cocoon and Pulse have been at war for as long as people can remember and the residents of the Cocoon consider everything from Pulse to be tainted and dangerous to them all(you will hear this a lot). There are also creatures called Fal'Cie that call both worlds home and randomly choose humans to become L'Cie to carry out a focus that the Fal'Cie demands of them. This is all I will go into story wise to avoid spoilers.
Gameplay
I love the Paradigm system and it is the core of this games combat. You don't unlock it until chapter 3 and it takes a while to get into the meat of it but it provides party flexibility like no other (at least when you actually get to choose your party). By the end the game it is quite fast paced and expects you to be swapping Paradigms all the time to fit the situation. The difficulty can also get quite tough at times and it is very hard to overpower until further in the game when you get more freedom. Some people say this game is very easy, I have to disagree.
Music
FFXIII has one of my favourite video game soundtracks. Composed by Masashi Hamauzu it blends classical orchestration with modern electronic synth and a very emotional leitmotif. It captures the Sci-Fi elements of Cocoon and wild feel of Pulse perfectly. while I think the soundtrack of XIII-2 is better and has more variety this one is nothing to scoff at.
The Port
The Port for this game is notoriously bad so I suggest installing the FFXIII Fix mod. With the mod I have had no issues with performance but milage will vary per person.
Summary
This game is such an underrated gem and I would not be the fan I am today without it. Overall a 8/10 for me. If Square Enix decides to remake this game to its full potential one day I would be over the moon but one can only hope.
I am going really giving it an upvote for 2 reasons. 1) You deff get your monies worth out of it. Between hours, story, visuals, etc its perfect. 2) Its a FF game. However, I can see why its a lower rated FF game. Story was average at best, although quite unpredictable. Was hard to get into the individual characters. As of writing, have not finished the game, but I dont think my opinion is going to drastically change when I do. I feel like the making of this game was in response to complaints that the previous game was "too hard." This is one of the easiest FF by far. The game practically plays for you. I say play it if you want, you wont regret it, but I would completely understand if you skipped this one.
