Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 26: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Latest in each market: best BR #19, worst KR #74 · 13 markets collected
US · last 30 days
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 37.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 46/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

enjoyed this game, but i cant turn off motion blur
🥉𝐵𝑅𝒪𝒩𝒵 🥈𝒢𝒰̈𝑀𝒰𝒮̧ 🥇 ⟦ 𝒜𝐿𝒯𝐼𝒩 ⟧ ✬ 𝒫𝐿𝒜𝒯𝐼̇𝒩 💎 𝐸𝐿𝑀𝒜𝒮

This was ultimately not interesting and varied enough to be a standalone experience. There are enjoyable moments but these are far and few between and by the time I got to the final chapters I just wanted it to be over. Levels don't feel like levels but like I'm just stuck in these endless corridors that would make P.T. era Kojima cream his pants. There's eighteen chapters but I think it could have been half that and resulted in a way more streamlined and well paced experience. The music's good though. It's a varied and powerful soundtrack with lots of tracks to collect in-game. Visuals were also a highlight; the environment at night for example looks stellar, especially Aerith's house. I bought Remake and Rebirth for 30 euros total so it's not the end of the world obviously, hopefully Rebirth does some things better and differently though. All in all for me this was just a mixed bag, I've played better and I've certainly played worse. 6/10.
⭐ A Beautiful Reimagining — But Is This Really a Remake? First of all, the Japanese voice acting is wonderful, and the quality of the production is undeniable. The main characters' models, animations, and visual effects are spectacular. However, I found Midgar extremely ugly. Really, really ugly. At times, I even found it suffocating. The original had a peculiar charm despite its industrial poverty, while the Remake's version often feels gray, generic, cluttered, and visually overwhelming. I didn't like the excessive number of NPCs. Many of them are generic, repetitive, and add very little to the world or the story. I would have preferred fewer NPCs, but with more personality, individuality, and genuinely meaningful interactions. The localization was the biggest problem for me. Some subtitles feel surprisingly distant from what is actually being said in Japanese, and there are moments where the adaptation seems to introduce nuances influenced by contemporary Western agendas that I did not perceive in the original dialogue. I play JRPGs precisely because they are Japanese. I don't want them to be reshaped to become culturally more comfortable for a Western audience. Localization should make a work understandable, not dilute its cultural and artistic identity. This is especially frustrating when the original work already has its own voice and worldview. Despite these criticisms, I strongly recommend the game. There is a lot to admire here, and it is clearly a labor of love for Final Fantasy VII. ⚠️ SPOILERS BELOW ⚠️ The existence of the Whispers completely changes the nature of the story. They seem to establish a mechanism through which the original Final Fantasy VII timeline itself becomes part of the narrative, suggesting that this may be something closer to a continuation or an alternate interpretation than a traditional remake. Honestly, I still don't know whether this is brilliant or terrible. I probably won't be able to judge that until I complete the entire trilogy. The Whispers raise a much stronger question about fate and free will: are they protecting destiny, or preventing the characters from changing it? This also affects the interpretation of some of the deeper esoteric and Kabbalistic elements of the story, which have been preserved in several places. However, this new interpretation may ultimately enrich or diminish those elements — and I believe we will only know once the complete story has been told. Sephiroth appears far more frequently than he did in the original, which made him feel less legendary to me. I didn't particularly like this change. It certainly provides plenty of fan service, but Sephiroth was originally shrouded in mystery. In the original game, he could become almost a legend before the player truly understood who he was. Yuffie, on the other hand, was excellent in the DLC. I really liked the character, and she is ridiculously overpowered. 😂 For me, that's not a problem — in fact, it's quite fun. My biggest question is whether the game is trying to preserve Final Fantasy VII or transform it into something else. If the intention is simply to make a remake, some of these changes seem unnecessary to me. If the intention is to tell a new story built upon the original Final Fantasy VII, then perhaps all of these changes will make sense in the end. es - ⭐ Una hermosa reinterpretación — pero ¿esto es realmente un remake? A veces incluso me resultó asfixiante.
