Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 26: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Played on Steamdeck and it was fantastic. The looks, the gameplay, all ace. Do NOT play Rebirth, it’ll only disappoint!

Voto: 8/10 Stra-consigliato!
why am to late to play this masterpiece? aaaa
Please stop hurting Aerith.
Beat when it came out on Epic, still running through it again. For some reason has a hard crash on amd software unless I downgrade it to DX11 and put effects and shadows on "low". I'm going to assume this is SE's incompetence and not an issue with my graphics card since this game easily runs 60 fps at 1080p otherwise but it calls into question why they haven't patched the game for this or added more granular graphics setting to lower what I assume is the ACTUAL culprit, the particles. I liked Final Fantasy when I was younger but a lot of it was the surface level Nomura pizzazz and Crisis Core and stuff. I played through FFVII on ps1 but I don't think it's a great RPG mechanically it was just one of the first JRPGs I've played so I took a default stance on it. I understand why it's recognized for what it did in the time it came out but I just think the gameplay isn't good and the localization is really botched so I never gave a ♥♥♥♥ about any of the characters, which is part of the reason I got into games like Tales or Atelier which were a lot more about the characters than the world ending plotline. I think when this game was announced I was confused because I hate Midgar. It's a singular, ugly locale. This was probably intentional in the original as it's a dreary factory town that's killing the planet, and you eventually go to more than one place in FFVII. I think they did a lot to expand on Midgar, and make it feel like a place with history. A lot of that is backporting in all the additional plot elements from Crisis Core and Dirge, but they also elaborated on it in other ways, like how Shinra as a company is run on the non-soldier ground floor, as well as how the economy beneath the plates work. I think it's still ugly but they did a lot with the separate districts to make it stand out. Having more time in other districts also helps a lot with the variety. If you want to be a completionist some of them still overstay their welcome a bit though. There is a lot more subtlety to the characterization in this. In the original some character archetypes overlapped to the point where if you erased their names it would be difficult to attribute a line to Barret or Cid, or Cloud and Vincent, and they all have a little more going on with their attitudes and motivations to keep them separate without changing them as a character. I've always been a bigger fan of character stories more than overlying plots and I think this pulls that off very well, and elaborates on all the characters enough that they're able to expand the first quarter of FFVII into an entire separate game. They also elaborated incredibly on Jesse and added a new SOLDIER OC and both those characters are incredibly fun. Cloud is a ♥♥♥♥ because he wants money and ibuprofen, which is relateable. Tifa has a subplot about being torn between the ends and means of her organization. Barrett is an exaggerated wrestleman persona who is extremely angry and passionate, but has small glimpses of an incredibly kind soul underneath, which aligns with his original characterization but it didn't always come out. Aerith, who I remember as a kind of distant, unerringly kind healer is a bubbly slumrat and manic pixie dream girl (thinking back on it, that was probably always the intention so that was probably a localization thing) Yuffie is still Yuffie but Yuffie was perfect so that's fine. Despite beating a lot of plot points to death and overexplaining things there are still enough small subtle detail to things that you may not notice your first time playing. I tend to skip through plot stuff on replays but I find it difficult to do it for this game because of that. It feels like a Yakuza game in its cinematic density at times. Mechanically, this game rules. Each character feels radically different from one another, you can't spam cheese through enemies with strong magic or summons like you can in vii, and you can't immediately level up the HP materia to give you 9999 health less than halfway through the game. It's not as complex as a proper DMC style beat em up but there is a lot of care put into it. I found out this playthrough that if you use your uppercut as Tifa you don't have to go through the opening animation of her dive kick and can jump right into the attack, and it feels incredibly good. I think the normal mode is tuned a little easy without even taken into account all the free cheat items they added in patches, and would have liked hard mode to be available off the bat, but otherwise, it's fun and feels good. I heavily prefer action rpgs and I would rate this very highly as an action rpg. The game kinda swaps between open-ish town chapters with a lot of story and backplot and combat heavy chapters. The chapter select (which crisis core's remake is still missing, despite having a ton of missable side content) allows you to go back to it any time, so you don't have to put off the whole story to find missing cats or whatever. There is a surprisingly robust amount of content, secret bosses and summons and things like that. Storywise, this game is kind of goofy. I don't think it's a bad interpretation of the original game but there is an end of evangelion esque meta element and the payoff for it is really silly and stupid
But did you really think they'd end this game without a Sephiroth fight?
I think this element makes the story a little weaker as a standalone and is kind of masturbatory, but I like the work they did on the individual characters enough to not really care. Looking forward to playing the next one in 2066 when computers are affordable again and Square Enix hires a programmer that can figure out how to use less than 500gb of vram to make a spark show up on a computer screen.
Fun and a good remake, keept all great moments and charactizations we remember from the original. Good performance and fun except the boss battle. Those are not fun expecialy by the end. Will continue with great pleasure to play the the rest of the remake.
Not the OG but I like it!!
