About
After two and a half years, Digital Crafter presents Fight of Steel! A whole new type of fighting game, a spiritual sequel to Fight of Animals.
Fight of Steel: Infinity Warrior
In the distant future, humans no longer exist. Now, robots rule the world. You wake up in a ruined site and have no memory of what happened to you, facing an unknown world and enemies; Fight your way through the Tower to find the truth.
Unlike traditional fighting games, Fight of Steel free characters from assigned move sets. Players can decide the basic moves by choosing "Combat Stance" and selecting the "Martial Art Chips" they like; you can even customize the appearance of the fighters to build your own.
Fight of Steel is a spiritual sequel to Fight of Animals in control and command designs. Simple designs for more players to enjoy the refreshing experience of fighting games; Special move inputs are designed as command normals, a directional input along with the appropriate attack button, and Supers are triggered with one button. Players won't be troubled with "circle motions" and can get a hang of fighting more quickly.
Based on simple input systems, Fight of Steel added "EX moves", enhanced special moves, to the game. And with the whole new OVERDRIVE feature further deepens the game for players to explore.
Yes, we use Rollback Net Code for our games. With the know-how, we acquired in developing Fight of Gods and Fight of Animals. We won't let you down this time! This time we added a rank system to online matches. We hope people who like PVP enjoy it.
Who says stories don't matter in fighting games? In Story Mode, you will play as a martial artist with his memory lost. Facing an unknown world and enemies, fight your way through the Tower to find the truth! You will unlock different endings with different winning conditions.
In Fight of Steel, we designed a Challenge Mode that focused on "Stat Composition" and "Part Collecting." In Challenge Mode, every part of a STEEL is with stat and property variations. Players will get different parts through combats. Build a STEEL according to your opponent's weakness and win all the prizes on the way!

This game is a customizer's dream! So many new parts and attacks since the demo... even supers! There is even a pizza box projectile that blams pizza about on contact, lol! Great game with a great price! 10/10
I love many things about this game, but the controller support is awful with many buttons simply not working in the menus, forcing me to pick default characters after working so hard on my custom characters. Also Dpad doesn't work.
I feel like this is one of the best Digital Crafter fighting games made up to date! The amount of freedom you have in the game with combos and customization is insane. some things that I feel could be changed is the weird turning around in the corner for rekka style moves that move forward in the corner and in crossup situations I feel like the second hit should keep the rotation of the inital hit for consistency's sake also a feature I feel like would be impossible but very fun to add is workshop for moves so people could mod their own moves into the game! one more fun thing this game could add is random select for moves i might have not found it if its already in the game but i think random select moves could add some fun for casual games
Summary
Fight of Steel: Infinity Warrior is a great indie fighting game which does almost everything right. With huge amounts of replayability, customization options, and snappy gameplay, it's a must buy in the current scene, especially for its budget price—less than 13USD. Its flaws can be overlooked quite easily, the online modes work reasonably well, and the UI, while obnoxious, isn't a huge barrier to enjoying the game. This game feels like a huge step forward for the Digital Crafter formula and shines as an example of what a good indie fighting game should aspire to be. The gameplay, in particular, shines as very polished and responsive, especially once one masters the universal dash cancel mechanic.
Graded review

Gameplay: 8/10 - It's an evolution of the Fight of Animals formula, with dash cancel combos and juggles. Feels very responsive. Minor issues with unwanted corner left-right crossups.
Graphics: 7/10 - The robot parts, story art and stages are extremely well crafted, but there are some hitches with animations and the humanoid models fall deep into the uncanny valley.
Sound: 9/10 - The soundtrack is very catchy and I found myself whistling it while strolling around more than once
UI: 5/10 - The menus are functional but obnoxious. Not this game's best feature, but at least they aren't broken
Single player content: 8/10 - Between arcade mode, story mode, challenge mode and all the unlocks, the game is pretty loaded on single player content.
Story: 7/10 - Very cliché but at least coherent, when counting only the Normal and Good ending. The True ending was a legit wow moment that elevated the final mark by two points.
Online modes: 8/10 - Serviceable rollback netcode, worked fine when stress-tested (2 bars on Wi-Fi). The game uses relay servers, so it might be an issue for players located in Africa, as there isn't any dedicated server for that continent (one needs to use EU, US, or SA servers for that). A solid fighting game with simple controls and a lot of diversity and options for the customization! Lots of single player content to do and a lot of customization options to unlock. The difficulties seem very reasonable for each level, nothing too easy and nothing too hard (though the AI does input read grabs sometimes making grab moves nearly useless against the CP) . Has quite a bit to keep casual players interested and a solid foundation for competitive players with pretty good online! I've only played for about 12 hours but I've cleared through most of the story endings, a few arcade runs, and every single challenge mission available, and i can already tell I'll be keeping up with this game. It's formula is perfect for adding new content for players as time goes on, so i'm hoping it gets the support it needs! The only downside I'd say is that due to moves having a mostly universal damage scale, specials that are designed for specific niche situations in a fight ultimately feel less useful to use, so you'll end up going for more optimal moves or builds if you wanna deal 1/3 or 1/2 health bar combos like everyone else. There's currently also no description or hitbox display for the moves when selecting or buying them, so many new players may purchase whatever they think looks cool without considering how the move synergizes with their fighting style or other specials, leading to them getting kinda thrashed online if they happen to pick the wrong loadout. If you're just playing single player though, these issues more than likely wont come up. At worst you'll just make a bad build and realize it doesn't feel as good as other ones. Definitely hit up training mode whenever you want to try out new moves to figure out exactly how to use em!
I just spent hours on end customizing fighters so I could watch V1 and Jetstream Sam beat the crap out of eachother. Is the game 'good'? I've no idea, I'm not qualified to judge the competitive end of fighters, I was *at best* a 6th Scout in Marvel 3 and Platinum in KI3. I'm 'okay'. Is it fun? C:\swiggity_sw00ty.exe This is a customizers "build your own fighter" game, not a hyper-balanced competitive piece. Heck, the guile-styled summersault kick can loop into itself turning any touch into a 60% combo that's just dash>kick>dash>kick...
Great fighting game with a low bar for entry for the fighting game genre (easy to control!). Lots of content for the price. The Challenge mode where you get parts to upgrade your stats and fight various enemies reminds me a bit of BlazBlue's Abyss mode a bit and is a great addition to the game. Game runs great using Proton (I tested using Proton Experimental) to get the game running on Linux (yes, even the online). The rollback netcode works great for online matches from what I've seen too!
Games pretty fun with a lot of potential, would like to see a little more complexity in the basic attacks and aerial attacks but other than that it's a pretty solid game that plays slightly differently than other fighters I've personally played. Will say never knew dashing on the right frames could be so tiring on my fingies.
Fight of Steel: Infinity Warrior is by far the best Digital Crafter game I've played. The art style is much more appealing, their animation improved a lot from their previous games and the gameplay is also much smoother. While it takes the "formula" of it's predecessors in some aspects, I feel the combo potential and specially the addition of EX specials greatly improves the experience, on top of both stage and HUD design being more interesting and colourful (though I wish they'd use a more stylized font as opposed to basic Calibri regular). I also quite enjoy the music (enough to purchase the soundtrack), which makes me wish we had more stages to pick from, since the selection we do have is, for the most part, solid. Customizing the robots is obviously the main selling point here, and while I greatly appreciate what was done with them, specially getting to customize stances, walk animations, intros and victory poses and not just the move sets, I feel like there could have been some improvements. Firstly, colours. You cannot recolour specific sections of a robot part. For instance, the default Zero head has a grey face, baby blue eyes and gold accents around the back of the head and jaw, with a baby blue trim. I can only recolour the grey part and nothing else. This is a problem that applies to pretty much every part, some more than others, and I feel like it hampers creativity in the way that multi coloured parts will inevitably get in the way of certain colour combinations, since your choice may not blend well with the remaining colours that you can't change, and it's a shame there wasn't an update to fix that. On the topic of updates, I feel like the game's potential wasn't fully realised, since it only got updates with 3 seasonal designs and 2 fighting styles (based on the Jesus and Buddha designs from Digital Crafter's Fight of Gods game), and the winning robots from a design contest, which they only did once. At one point, the lack of more animations to choose from, in the way of walk cycles, intros and victories and such became more apparent as well, with the more robots I created, same thing with special moves. While I appreciate the addition of Challenge Mode to mix up the gameplay a bit and unlock more customization items, I feel like the idea could have used more depth. Instead of just picking elemental parts that can damage your opponent's element more, I feel like other RPG mechanics like passive benefits or even tying certain special moves to parts that give you access to more powerful attacks (let's say, a flamethrower move to fight ice robots) would have made it more interesting to go through. Similarly, I feel like the game could have used more game modes, specially since Arcade already functions with randomized opponents (with your last winning creation serving as the final boss). I feel like Survival would have made the game infinitely replayable, since no opponent would ever be the same (even more so if, again, the developers had added more customization stuff across the board). Perhaps even include power ups, in similar fashion to other fighting games like Garou Mark of the Wolves or DNF Duel. I also enjoyed the addition of a Story Mode. While the story itself isn't anything breathtaking, it does a good enough job of exploring aspects of this strange new world, that is just as alien to the protagonist as it is to us. Even if the amnesiac protagonist trope is a bit overdone, I did enjoy learning more about the game's setting, and specially the plot twist of one of the endings, which I will not spoil. And much like everything else, the story has a lot of potential and I really wish there was more! Do not misunderstand my intent however. I don't meant to imply the experience is half baked, not at all. What I mean is that the game has, in my opinion, a solid foundation, it just needs more content to sink our teeth into!
