It mostly appears to work and there are a few minor UI glitches, but nothing serious. MOstly seems to play like a low budget mashup of a space 4X and CK. Seems like it might be an interesting game, but it really feels several eyars behind the times from a UI and ease of use perspective. Not something I would find worth putting time into, though I might have loved it 15 years ago.
Embryonal game. Extremely user unfriendly. Must play in windowed mode otherwise impossible to close the game !!!! can't reload my saved games. New games start with research situation of previously saved game!!! In other words: these guys should pay us for trying this out instead of the other way round. Bad graphics too, the ideas of "tables" for a region is ridiculous. Tutorial is an insult, and no manual. A rip-off for now unless there's some major updates.
I want anyone who reads this review to understand that I don't normally, "never" post reviews and that I also feel that a review is only good when you consider the likes and dislikes of the reviewer. I did receive this game for free as part of the developers Beta testing group. I did not feel any obligation to post a review until I left my feedback with the game developer and within hours was thoroughly responded back to. The response gave me confidence that they were taking our feedback seriously and are going to make postive upgrades. -a little about my likes so you can understand where my review is coming from. I like strategy games that are open with some micromanaging aspects. Civ 5, Total War Franchise, etc. I also like games that allow me to create and progress Characters/Towns. I fast sim most battles so the lack of fancy graphics for epic battles does not play a role for me. I don't play multiplayer "I am a happy hermit" -Alright enough of that now on to Feudalism -Pros- *Deep Tech Research *Ease of control over large amounts of villages *A lot of Village advancements *An easy progression into confrontation "hate games that always have some punk attacking me on like the 5th turn" *Decent Diplomacy "this area has some flaws but is relatively easy to navigate" *Family Tree "this area also has its flaws but once you learn that giving tasks such as diplomacy to children is a bad idea you will be able to respond to other Factions directly" Also, just a note on this topic. I found that giving control of diplomacy, unit building, and facility building can cause actions that you are not expecting. For Example...You are offered a treaty for trade and your kid rejects it before you have a chance to answer. *Hours of gameplay -Cons- "Some of which I asked the developer directly about and was given reassurance they would be addressed" *Tech Tree - What leads to what? This is one that the developer told me they were working on providing a guide. *Factions - What are the pros and cons to each faction? Also another area that they will be providing a guide. *Map movement/Village selection "this is a little clunky but nothing to ruin the experience. *No Generals/Governors "I would like to see something similar to Total War games where you could have a general lead an Army or even one of your children. *Unit building "I still can't figure out why I would build a harvester/miner/logger if I can't make them perform a task. *Family Tree/Diplomacy "I can't figure out if I propose marriage to another faction if I am actually proposing myself or one of our children. Also I keep on having kids but I never seem to get married....not that that is necessary to have kids just saying" --Overall I like this game. It has tons of promise and considering the response from the developers I have to be optomisitc that they will continue to develop this game and make it into a very good replayable game. I am not telling anyone how to spend their money, I am just giving my feedback. I have played this game for 24hrs so far and I am going to jump back on as soon as I am done posting this. Hope this helps.
I do not recommend this game, no idea how to get anything done or what anything does, tried the tutorial witch explains how to play witch maters not when i can't figure out how to start a game.Very user unfriendly and saving & loading seems to be bugged, as when i saved my game i had one familly set and when i loaded it was suddenly winter and the familly had switched to another one.
This is more so a first impressions much rather than a review. My opinion is meh, so far. Here's why; -Tutorial is boring and uninspiring. -UI is confusing, buggy, and absymal. My biggest problem is that it requires you to constantly close and reopen different screens. Its really annoying. -Research often takes WAY too long to progress. -The FPS are all over the place. Its so poorly optimized. I have an i7 and a 760 and its just tanking to 18 fps. This is just a mess. Its just overall not a quality game. Its pushing below average at this point. I like the concept and how realistic it is, and the theme of it is great. But I don't feel it deserves a good recommendation. The game is not up to par and it needs to be improved.
For the cost of a cup of coffee (the game was on sale), I decided to give it a go, in spite the predominately negative reviews. I would've had heaps more fun if I bought coffee instead...
Ok, I agree, the game is complicated. But for me this is not a problem, in fact I like it. I've never played a 4X game that was easy. I would like, however, that the multiplayer was improved, it is a bit cumbersome ;)
Funzionamento incomprensibile. é un gioco ingiocabile. Male progettato, noioso e pieno di bug e glitch che non vengono sistemati. Se come me siete fan di Feudalesimo e Libertà, non vi fate ingannare.
Interesting game. Hard to start, but after one hour or two of play, the game runs more smoothly. The interface is unfortunately very counterintuitive and should be improved, which is a shame because the game seems to have a lot of things, but you do not understand how to do them! The management of the family and intelligence, however, I found really inspiring. I have not managed to understand all the implications, but it looks promising. I'd like to learn more about the Families and to have the opportunity to create my own Family. Overall I had a good impression.
This game is hard to get your head around and the tutorial like most these days is utter rubbish, you have to learn the game by trial and error but if you like this type of game like I do and grit your teeth then it's a good one, worth playing.
