Felvidek

The game is Felvidek, whatever it means It's short, enjoyable, has nice art and catchy music, memorable characters and plot, quite unusual game setting. Combat and related systems are quite simplistic. Running around sometimes fun, sometimes a chore, but nothing too dramatic. Worth giving it several hours, but if it's not for you for the first 1-2 hours, you won't find more later.

The art style is great and I enjoyed that the RPG combat was not merciless. The focus of the game is experiencing the funny arcane English dialog (at least if you play it in that language) and unfolding an intriguing story about occult happenings and strange brown Arabic drinks. I don't think I saw many secrets or opportunities for replayability but I like short and sweet games anyway. This game was clearly created by someone who's fascinated by this time period and culture and the setting becomes quite immersive. My one complaint is that I wasn't a huge fan of the music, I would have preferred to have a more atmospheric or period specific soundtrack than the experimental guitar music but I might be alone here. Overall an enjoyable worthwhile experience.
