Being a fan of Fear Effect 2, then seeing Fear Effect Inferno lose traction I was very hopeful for Sedna. Lets start positive. Sedna manages to retain the Fear Effect vibe through the recognisable unique art style, story, interesting puzzles and classic animated death scenes. The isometric view isn't bad but it a big departure from the fixed camera angle of the previous game, which has removed a little of the "Fear" Unfortunately the downsides are that the stealth is almost optional and sometimes apparently ignored by NPCs, horror aspects non-existent and the new combat system really feels like it is trying and failing to be XCOM. There is a combat pause mode to put characters in position, utilise cover and use specific actions, but once you hit 'play' things don't quite work. Sometimes the characters don't move or use the right actions, and even when they do move, everything is still happening all at once, so that tactical advantage you were aiming for, sorry, your character died before they got in position. The special abilities are interesting, but never really useful. The "Fear" effect has been changed from being the representation of the health bar, to becoming an almost useless indicator for fear. The more "Fear" the party has, the more damage they deal and receive but healing resets it. It really feels that, instead, if anytime combat start it became into a turn & grid based XCOM combat system, it would've been much better, allowing characters to use abilities to control the battle. Rather than at the moment everything just becoming a shoot out. Boss fights are the real nail in the coffin. I just might not be good enough, but none of the boss fights felt like I should ever use the tactical pause, every one of them devolved to just running in circles and taking pot shots, hoping the character doesn't get hit by a unseen random attack you can't avoid, or the boss's reach randomly ignoring it's own range. In short this game scratches an itch, hopefully it brings interesting in revitalising the series.

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.
This feels more like a budget mobile game than a PC game. Even at $1.99, I cannot recommend this
another woke game stay away, it is as bad as the rest of games like that, rushed and badly done.
I'm not familiar with the first parts, but I liked this one so much that I think I'll get to know it.The plot is so addictive that you don't want to break away, the characters are written very well, so much so that you begin to empathize with them. I was [strike]♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shocked[/strike] by some of the plot twists, impressions are not forgotten.

Yeah, OK - skipping really cool looking cutscenes.... instantly - the moment you start playing - you noticed things are off. The character animations and movement is just all wrong and then the game asks you to start shooting and there is zero feedback - you end up having cheap sounding guns with tiny blot splatters - but it feels like nothing. Everyone just runs back and forth, you hear shots, health bars go down, but are you actually landing shots or getting hit? No idea - cause there is zero feedback. Skills and tactical mode don't do much to remedy the issue and bring order to this chaos. And then you get a puzzle to solve and - eh - it's a bit boring, a bit frustrating - but at least works. Sadly, the moment cutscenes start playing again, things don't get much better - cause while they look pretty cool, the voice acting is mediocre and is ruined by very poor recording quality and quickly becoming frustrating to listen to. Sure maybe the game gets great way later, but with this bad of a first impression and with such a scuffed character animations and shooting - highly doubtful.
The game needs two brains :)
