About
Fate of the Seventh Scholar puts a unique spin on the bullet heaven genre by mixing satisfying combat and build crafting with exploration and puzzle solving.
You will explore a handcrafted map that is not randomly generated, and as you explore the world you'll face unlockable weapons, puzzles, mysteries and boss fights.
As you unravel the story of the scholars, perhaps you can put an end to the corrupted reign of the Scholar of the Sun.

The scholars, rulers of the seven realms, are amassing their forces. Some still serve their fallen king, and some possess their own agenda. One thing is certain, this realm you find yourself in is in absolute disarray. As you try to fight your way and explore the world, you'll find pieces of lore and meet many characters.

Fight thousands of enemies, as well as a variety of bosses with an arsenal of unique weapons, each featuring a satisfying upgrade path. Complement your weapons with powerful passives obtained from exploration and fighting mini bosses.

Unlock weapons, artifacts, consumables and characters through boss fights, exploration and puzzle solving. Every unlockable makes meaningful impact and allows interesting playstyles. Curiosity and exploration is rewarded with many secret items.

As you learn the lay of the land and unearth the many secrets of this realm, you might stumble upon a way to permanently end the curse that corrupts the minds of the scholars. Fate of the Seventh Scholar features a true ending that will slowly reveal itself.

Extremely enjoyable game. I bounced off all of vampire survivors and the brotato. This however, holds my interest due to interesting unlockables, puzzles throughout the map, boss encounters, and a robust roster of characters. While the OG character is the easiest and likely the strongest, all the characters have interesting trade-offs. Outside of a few weapons that I dislike, they are all usable, and all have a variant that unlocks by getting 500 kills with them in one run, which adds to replayability. EDIT: Fully completed. There is still the optional side quest of getting the rest of the weapons perfected, but I think this is a good spot for me to put down the game. Thank you for making it!
A very unique twist on the genre with puzzles and narrative. If you like survivors-like games this is a worthy game to try out for sure.
I'm having an absolute blast with this game. Such a fun take on the bullet heaven genre. This is *not* the endless Number Go Up grind of your typical bullet heaven. It's a game with a start, middle, and end. I love that. Also, really enjoying the pixel art animations!
Fate of the Seventh Scholar is an indie action-roguelike with a heavy focus on exploration and beautiful pixel art that really stands out. The handcrafted world encourages you to wander, unearth secrets, solve light puzzles, and fight hordes of enemies and bosses, all wrapped in a bullet-heaven style combat loop that’s easy to pick up but not super deep. While the story is light and minimal, the world feels rewarding to explore, and discovering new weapons or artifacts gives a satisfying sense of progression. Combat and builds are fun, but overall the gameplay stays on the simpler side. There’s not a ton of complexity or layered systems, which makes it very accessible but may not appeal as much to players looking for deep mechanical challenge. At its launch price (~$9.99), I personally found more value and enjoyment than expected. It’s a fun, chill indie roguelike with enough charm to justify the cost, even if beating the final bosses might feel tough without some mastery of the combat. Pros: - Gorgeous pixel art and exploration-friendly world - Easy to get into - Combat is intuitive and fun - Rewards curiosity with hidden items and builds Cons: - Limited depth: relatively simple gameplay systems - Sparse narrative content Would recommend for fans of explorative action roguelikes who want a low-stress but engaging experience!

45 degree movement is a hard no from me.
Great game! Fun, has a story, has exploration and nice powers to discover and use. Graphics are charming, music is good.
I'm really enjoying it so far. Typically, I'm not someone who wants to spend a lot of time playing survivor-likes/bullet heavens, but the puzzles, lore, and hand-made world make this more compelling to me and, therefore, I'm totally ok with this being a 5 - 6 hour game instead of a forever game.
