Far Fishing

Ive played for 11 minutes and already hit a "prestige", I had bought maybe 3 total upgrades... Why make me do a bunch of rounds where I cant afford any upgrades, then have a tutorial push me to grab the 2nd area which made me less money and made me lose 2x as fast... so glad I get to "start over" after nearly 15 whole minutes of gameplay.

[h1] Far Fishing [/h1] [i]Far Fishing[/i] has a charming idea and can be entertaining for a while, but its shallow waters run out of surprises far too quickly. [hr][/hr] As someone who enjoys fishing games, I appreciated its relaxed atmosphere and initially found the simple navigation rather pleasant. There is some satisfaction in carefully steering towards each fish while avoiding the environment, and the game’s sole character—a parrot—adds a little personality between maps. Unfortunately, the core mechanic becomes [b]extremely repetitive[/b]. This is the first fishing game I have played where catching a fish involves no actual fishing minigame whatsoever: you simply move close enough to it, and that is essentially the entire process. New maps do little to develop that formula. They mainly reduce visibility with coral or introduce collision hazards such as cliffs and whirlpools, so the challenge changes without the gameplay becoming meaningfully deeper. The parrot also feels like a missed opportunity. Despite being both your mascot and the [i]only[/i] character in the game, it merely speaks before each map like a feathered tutorial screen, with almost no real interaction or development. [i]Not Recommended[/i]. Far Fishing is briefly entertaining and visually pleasant, but without a proper catching mechanic, meaningful progression or a more involved companion, it feels less like fishing and more like slowly parking a boat next to increasingly inconvenient seafood.
