Saw Northernlion's youtube video of this game. Heard the explanation of the premise paused the video, looked up the trailer. And that was all it took. Got the game with my roommate and played all through the currently released content. Great game for the price. The base mechanics aren't complex but combining it with micromanaging your resources and communication makes it a bit challenging at times. The challenge of it felt very nice, it was more difficult than expected but not so difficult we got stuck retrying the same challenge over and over.
This game is better than I thought it would be! I was skeptical at first when my friend ask me to buy this game but turn out it's very fun and the difficulty turn from 0 to 100 real fast xD we had a fight after tho :< Here are some recommendation: - It would be best if you have fully English because you published on Steam - More family friendly word (parent can play with their kid). Maybe a kid mode with easy mode - Online match making, only me and my friend brought this game at the moment!
game is ass if i am being honest
There's three things you need to know. One, the game has no matchmaking, you need to bring your own friend, with their own copy of the game. Two, if you want to play this to save the cute cat, don't - you'll watch the cat die over and over and over, because this game is insanely difficult. And three, because the game's so hard, it will test your bonds to their absolute limits - mainly your ability to make random associations with the same stuff, but also your ability to forgive each other for minor mistakes that jeopardize the entire run. The main point of difficulty is that the features of the bugs are purposefully made similar to each other to force you to be very specific. For example, let's say that Sonny says "the bug is wearing a pirate hat". And then Daddy looks at his list of features... okay, there's a tricone, there's a black admiral hat with a skull, there's a red sailor's bandana... which one is the pirate hat? Or shapes of the bugs that are simply hard to describe. We had to use phrases such as "top of the bone", "egg-potato", "hanging lamp from Ikea", and "fat Estus flask". Eventually, you'll develop a dictionary of sorts - but the process that takes you there is painful and full of annoyances. At least you get some tools to make these things easier later on. Then there are the bugs themselves. All of them have some kind of gimmick that make them annoying or dangerous - some less than others. It starts with bugs that simply run away, or perhaps leave behind easily identifiable decoys... but then you have bugs that leave run-destroying traps, bugs that heal others, bugs that chase you and blink you to another floor... and worse. And the clock is constantly ticking! Every moment, every hit Sonny takes gets you closer to Mimi's demise. Luckily, successfuly killing a bug resets the timer. And finally there's the issue of the special abilities. Every time either player uses one of those, the other player gets punished somehow. Your controls get reversed, you get part of your screen covered, the ground turns to ice, a decoy shows up... but all things considered, this isn't so bad. Eventually you learn to work around those issues. Do you get it? The game's hard. And that's what makes playing it so freaking satisfying. Making mistakes, figuring out what went wrong, adapting your strategies, attempting to describe an ikea lamp with 90s cool kid hair... it's just so much fun. And that's what it boils down to. It's hard, but fun. Fun, but hard. Play this only if you have someone you really trust, and have patience for failure. Because if you can make it work, you'll get an amazing, satisfying experience; somewhat rough around the edges, but unique and very engaging. One of the nicest Co-op indie games I've played recently! I'm an indie game reviewer so as you can see I've played a lot to take a deep look into this title. My first impression is that this game would be a casual co-op for 2 players that fight viruses in human body. But there is so much more. I will try to review this game without spoiling all the fun. 1. One of us RAGE QUIT sometimes. I'm lucky enough to have my close friends to test out this game for me. It took us some days to finally reach the final stage of this early access stage. However, this game will challenge you and your close ones how good you are at communication, EMPATHY & PATIENCE. YES! We can never break this game without sitting with each other for hours and thinking about how we can over come the obstacles. 2. HARDER than we thought (This may be a drawback for some players) Not as my first impression, this game is really challenging and it comes from various sources. Here are some examples: - Your partner: FIRST and BIGGEST and HARDEST element that the game brought us. So you should prepare =)) - Complex map: you HAVE to work and communicate really well with your partners since if you play inside character, there is no chance to can find virus by yourself. - Tricky AI: At later stage, the Virus just suddenly turn to be so smart and run away from you. It's so hard to catch them so the outside player need to plan the direction really strategically. - Tricky way to kill virus: You have to terminate virus by creating the right vaccine based on virus features. The tricky part is that there are so many of them and they look really similar. 3. FRUSTATINGLY EXCITEMENT - I and my friends can not finish this game in a day. We got tired after 2 hours because we talked a lot, and there are so many things going on in the game that we have to handle. - We finished the game after several attempts and it really got us emotional. 4. TEAMWORK - We could not win this game if we did not come up with our communication codes (I mean our way to address things in the game). And personally, I think this is what this game is all about. You struggle with your partners and first and then work with them to get through stages. That's the real reward! 5. AUDIO & VIUSAL IS JUST ENOUGH - This part is enough to make the early access game complete. Not too outstanding but it works well with the game as a whole. So there is nothing to say about this part. ------------------------------ My review score: 8 out of 10! I'm quite surprised that this title is made and published by a studio from my country, Vietnam. I know this is still early access so I hope the game will get better after receiving more feedback players. Highly recommended!
Impossible to play if you are colorblind.
This is a really fun co-operative game to play with a friend in which you rely on your communication skills to advance together, you can not play this alone. To keep it as simple as possible, one of you has been shrunk and sent inside the body of a cat. your job is to describe every detail of the virus to the other player, who is the scientist, so that they can make a vaccine to eliminate the virus. The scientists job is also to guide the scout across the map to where the virus is, theres a lot of multi tasking involved for both parties, you can also switch roles with each other whenever you please. if youre interested in something like the above, definitely get it.
I'm old enough to have kids, have a friend who used to play CS:GO, and we found this game too hard. The first story level or two are confusing, but you figure it out. But by level 8+ he's getting swarmed by enemies and the controls aren't good enough for my buddy to dodge long enough to tell me what the viruses look like. It takes a ton of patience to try again and again, but you get a few replays of each map and learn to just take out the suicider first, what pills actually help, etc... but by level 10 we just ran out of patience after the recap was consistently buggy. I'd have sent a vaccine but it wouldn't show what he was describing in the recap, so we couldn't agree on the dictionary. The game needs smoother controls and difficulty settings to speed yourself up, the bugs down, and turn down the rate of Mimi's decay.
Fun game but difficult to play on higher resolutions as the UI breaks with ultrawide. There are also no resolution options ingame, so you can't easily go windowed.
