Fantastic 4 In A Row 2

Fantastic 4 In A Row 2 is a simple digital adaptation of a board game that's better known as Connect 4. Developed by a Mexican company EnsenaSoft, this was one of their many shovelware titles they brought on Steam in 2016. While it does cost only 79c, this is a similar case as with Snakes & Ladders (PS4) and Simple Dominoes I've previously reviewed: there are many, MANY free and free to play alternatives on iOS and Android nowadays, so why would any person bother paying money for this, despite the admittedly small price tag? And come to think of it, was there ever a Fantastic 4 In A Row 1? Once you boot up the game, you are greeted with the menu screen that plays some classical music. There is not much in terms of options, as you only get to choose to play against the computer on any of the four difficulties or to play against up to four players locally. And yes, a game that's normally played with two people has a four-player mode. How does it work? I'll get to it in a bit. As you would expect, the goal is to get four of your tiles in a row, either diagonally, vertically or horizontally, before your opponent does. Nothing much to it, since we all know how that works. During gameplay, you hear some admittedly relaxing music in the background. Once you win or lose, you can choose to play again or return to the menu. The first two AI opponents were easy to beat, but jeez, the other two are way too easy to lose against. Now for the 3-4 player modes, the gimmick for this one is that you can rotate the board, which can also mean the winning combination can wrap around the board. Here's a snag though: it's only for local multiplayer, so you can't play against three or four AI opponents at once. All in all, it's a barebones package that doesn't bring anything new to the table aside the 3D board gimmick. While 79c may not be a bad deal, especially when compared to the 14.99 euro asking price for Markt+Technik's 4 in a row (which is also on consoles), or the 4 euro price of MultiDimensional 4-in-a-row by LolBozo, but with a lack of online multiplayer or achievements, this is still asking too much for what little content there is. At least Markt+Technik's 4 in a row has achievements and PSN trophies, so that's something.

I have beaten the easy AI in 4 moves and got beaten by the expert AI every time. And after 5 minutes I got bored.

[h1]NOT FANTASTIC[/h1] Fantastic 4 In A Row 2 is definitely a game. A game on Steam. Yep. It's really hard for me to write anything serious about this title. It's just big pile of nothing. Scuffed take on Connect 4. Visually looks like ♥♥♥♥, sound is not better, UI is awful and non-intuitive, no online (just LAN, which is not a good choice), abysmal AI even on highest difficulty... 간단한 오목게임입니다. 더도말고 딱 4개만 가로세로대각선으로 맞추면 되는 게임입니다. 게임 음악은 지금 게임 소개영상에 나오는 저 노래가 영원히 반복되고 게임도 지금 보여주는 저것이 끝입니다. 그렇게 대단...한 느낌은 아니고 서양의 틱택토나 오목도 종이로 선 긋는걸로 즐길 수 있는데 이정도로 볼륨 없는 게임을 정가 1달러에 팔려고 하는거 자체가 너무 판타스틱하네요. 그래서 게임 이름이 판타스틱이 붙나봅니다. 저는 물론 번들로 사서 1달러보다 훨~씬 싸게 샀지만 이런 게임을 소비하는걸로 아타리쇼크의 전조증상 같은 존재를 묵인하는게 되었습니다. 부끄럽네요. 2021년 플래시가 서비스 종료되면서 수많은 명작 플래시 게임들이 사라지게 되었는데 이런 게임은 아직 목숨줄 붙이고 숨쉬고 있다는게 너무 아이러니 하네요. 풋풋의 동물원을 구해라나 물고기 프레디나 구매하는게 더 이로울 것 같습니다.

Game cost 0,79 euro and I still feel like I've been ripped off, which I suppose is sort off amazing on it's own. Pros: - The game is technically speaking functioning like a connect 4 in a row game. - There is a mute button for the music. - Quick to uninstall Cons: - As far as I can tell with my full 15 min. of gametime, the AI reponds the same way every damn time, killing all motivation to continue playing. Which also means, once you found 1 way to win, all possibility of loosing is reduced to 0%, unless you venture out to find another combination of moves that the AI has no response to... yay... - Lacks online multiplayer, which due to the horrendous AI, is the only potential value this game ever had aaaand they missed it... or just didn't care/want to add it, and risk pushing the pricepoint closer to a full euro. - The soundtrack is a complementary free one way ticket to the looney bin. - Playing the AI, you are forced to go first, effectively removing half the game experience.

Fantastic 4 In A Row 2 is, as it says on the box, Connect-4(tm) on PC. The graphics are okay and it's a workable Connect-4 game. You can play vs another person or against the AI with 4 difficulty modes. The Easy AI mode is just way too easy. Overall, I'm not sure what the point of this is. Are people really such big fans of Connect-4 that they need a PC version? The game works on a technical level, but I can't think of anyone I would ever recommend this to.

The music is nice, and the graphics are nice, but there's not enough gameplay. Connect-4 is a simple, solved game. Playing it against a few different levels of AI is not interesting. In human multiplayer, there was a somewhat novel concept, involving playing on three or four boards simultaneously. With further exploration of this idea, there might have been a worthwhile game found here, but it needed more development.
