Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game

It's hard, and that's good. You owe it to yourself to rack your brains deciphering near-30-year-old game design. The instruction manual is in the game folder and I believe it's not beyond understanding. Please forgive it for being a product of its time and be prepared to completely restart a few times. I haven't finished it yet, but I know I will.

One of my favorite games ever

A pesar de sus años y de que su jugabilidad resulta tosca, poco intuitiva y algo lenta, Este Fallout no llega a ser aburrido. Al contrario, es bastante entretenido y su atmósfera es la mejor entre todos los Fallout que he jugado hasta ahora. Si tuviera que dar un consejo, diría que lo ideal es acompañar la experiencia con una guía. Le doy un 9/10: es el mejor Fallout que he jugado. No le pongo un 10 únicamente porque no se puede ****** con las lagartijas mutantes.

Not my favourite CRPG (Big fan of Arcanum and Planescape Torment), but it's still a must play both for Fallout fans (especially if you are a fan of New Vegas and Obsidian's RPGs) AND CRPG enthusiasts in general. It's quite smaller and more linear than your average early 2000 CRPG like Bg1-2, but to be honest I enjoy both long and meaty RPGs and smaller ones, Fallout 1 in this case is perfect for beginners of this genre since it's quite easier to play and understand than those games, both because combat is simpler and because builds are pretty straigh forward. This Steam port isn't perfect but it plays surprisingly well without any tweaking, although I still encourage you to install Fallout et tu, which basically ports Fallout 1 to Fallout 2's engine on top of fixing bugs, perfect even for a first vanilla playthrough (there are a few mods which restore cut content and modify the way some quests work, but I encourage you to stick to a Vanilla+ game for a first playthrough, even if you are not new to CRPGs). Big shotout to the soundtrack, still my favourite in the entire series, it's so damn good I never touch New Vegas without installing mods which add it back in the game (metallic monks is GOATED) For the price it's an absolute steal, and it regularly goes on sale for pennies.
